American Military Making Zombie Pigs. Humans Could Be Next

This could be absolutely awesome if it works and everything goes fine.
Save a ton of lives with this.
I do not get how suspended animation and hibernation is even close to being a zombie. It's basically semi-killing someone before they become irreversibly lost.

"Your friend is only mostly dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead, and all dead"
Make it in a powdered form, and use it as a biological weapon. You can stop entire enemy divisions this way. And everyone would be too tired to launch nukes! World peace through dying in sleep!
Science is FUCKING AWESOME! :science:
I bet the research is stopped dead in it's tracks.
So this will be like a forced coma, but less extreme. If it works, traumatic injury death rates will plummet.
Bah all this does is make you hibernate for a while.
I'm dissapointed
I sure hope animal rights activists don't bust in and release the infected pigs and cause 28 Days Later to become a reality.
I always hated the start of 28 Days Later.
"Don't release them, they are infected and highly contagious!"
"I don't care hahahahaha!"
Dead.
It's as if it was taken from a H.P. Lovecraft story. The one of the doctors reanimating their patients.
This is interesting.
Just yesterday, I was been thinking how stupidly are human vital organs done when it comes to oxygen shortage. I always thought there should be a way to shut them down to prevent damage and give other people time to save them in other way.
This could be really useful. Got mortal wound? Find a nice place to play dead, pop in a Stimpack and hope you will clear up in hospital.
I like the nanobot idea better :l
It is a very good idea.
And no, the point is not brain-eating zombies. The point is hibernating person so they won't use so much blood.
You get a bad wound, no worries, we'll hibernate you until we get to the hospital.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Style.
It's not zombification, they just put the critters into a suspended animation. I reckon 90% of this thread didn't even read the article and just saw zombie in the title and began posting crap.
Science is getting scary... Soon enough Resident Evil wont be just a movie...

They already are calling PETa terrorists, this'll sure help their damn egos.

A plastic double sided dildo, just like in San Andrea's, only pink.
This sounds interesting, if it's successful for the military then I'm sure it'll be used in civilian hospitals soon enough.
With this kind of medical advancement it won't be long before we're hiding behind cover to heal ourselfs.

Just a movie...
Oh god i hate you so much.
Pretty damn cool! I hope this works as planned :)
BUT, you're all forgetting about something...

truth
I just realized, couldn't this also aid advances in long-term space travel?
You sir, have stumbled upon a fantastic idea.

It's not for hospitals. The point of this is to make them survive longer outside a hospital, so they don't die before they arrive there.
I like the nanobot idea better :l
I don't.
So will this be in a syringe form or what?
