Start8 works on 8.1 and Fable 2 never came out on PC.
Let it be Hover
I had a blast with that thing.
Thought the rear view mirror was rad.
oh and the start search of windows 8 has been downgraded too so i cant just type 'dropbox' and have it show my most recent file i uploaded into my dropbox folder
or does start8 fix that too?
(probably shouldnt be asking this in here)

I didn't even have to update for start8 to work on 8.1, what are you talking about.
If you aren't already on Windows 8 there's something wrong with you.
This thing boots in less than 5 seconds with an SSD.
Boot times are the most irrelevant measure of computer performance there is. Especially in Windows 8's case since it comes primarily not from actual optimization, but from the RAM not being discharged on shutdown, keeping important system files in it for the next boot. Unless it takes half an hour or something ridiculous, in which case Windows 8 won't save such a decrepit computer.
Of all the plausible ways to sell Windows 8 as an improvement, that particular one is the bottom of the barrel.
If it's halo I wont mind going to 8 for it.
BUT I WOULD REALLY LIKE IT IF THEY PUT IT ON 7 TOO.
Windows 8 is a buggy piece of shit. Not to mention Metro always popping up when you least want it to, and it bitches at you constantly about having no RAM when you'd have 8-16gb. Not worth it for just Halo.
Regardless of anything, I would buy windows 8 AND halo 3 if I could play it on pc.
cool i love windows 8 its a great OS and functions really way on a normal desktop, cant wait to play my games
Age Of Empires related calling it now.

it must have been another start menu addon im thinking about then
I swear to god, if this ends up being a Windows 8 exclusive reboot of A.) Halo, B.) Crimson Skies or C.) Mechwarrior, I will flip a whole new spectrum of shit.
what do you mean by exclusive reboot
an old game being ported & exclusive to w8?
or an anniversary/remake game?
[editline]3rd January 2014[/editline]
time to install 8.1 i guess
this time i'm not gonna delete windows 7 (like a fucking idiot)
Whatever happened to that Halo 3 rumor that was in AMD drivers?
it's still in the newest release of the AMD drivers (3rd of December)
and the steam groups for h1/2/3 still exist
It's not going to be Viva pinata 3.
Fuck this shit.
This forum's windows 8 hate bandwagon is really out of hand and unjustified. I doubt any of you have tried the os for more than a few minutes
Halo 3 and 4, W8.1 exclusive fucking do it Microsoft the sheer amount of crying would be worth it.
They'd be pretty stupid to try the same thing again. It would be the same as Halo 2, so the artificial limitation would be patched out within a week or so and no crying will be necessary.

Says the one on windows 7. I've been using windows 8 for months now, don't try and tell me I have no right to complain.
Ha, because the last time Halo was an exclusive hostage to a shitty operating system that nobody wanted, it worked out so well.
Maybe it's a new Age of Empires game? It was always a beloved series on PC
So this proves what I THINK I heard yesterday in some German commercial for W8. I only had the TV on in the background and he was talking about how good it was. Then I thought I had heard him say something about playing Halo, but when I looked there was nothing Halo-ish there so I shrugged it off.

I've been doing some simple troubleshooting on Windows 8 for my grandfather.
I would rather troubleshoot MS-DOS with an avant-garde spherical keyboard.
And they think that people will buy their OS because of this? That it won't end up like halo 2 that was only for vista yet i can play it on XP, win7 and win8? There is going to be a crack or a program that will allow it for us to play it on win7
I like Windows 8.
Microsoft Office 2014 - the long-awaited sequel to an award-winning franchise
Certainly wouldn't put it past MS to arbitrarily make the game W8/DX11.1 exclusive just to benefit from upgrade sales, not because it's more beneficial to devs or users.
I wonder if SteamOS will have any impact on these sorta strategies if it actually eventually becomes a thing.
