Without Chris Roberts, knowing Microsoft, they would make it a linear first person shooter.
I hope it's halo so the community can port it to windows 7 and everyone will laugh at Microsoft.
I hope it's SkiFree.
you can still play old cod games when new ones come out, the fanbase just jumps ship. in this case the operating system itself is being depreciated after only 4 years by the developer.
how is that relevant, you can still use windows 7 but it's not supported... millions of people buy every call of duty/battlefield knowing that after about a year they will be completely abandoned.

the difference is the developers are giving up on their product in this case, in my case the consumers are. there's nothing stopping people from playing old cod games at all.
They tried this with Halo 2. They made it only available on vista and it failed. Pretty hard if I recall.

aside from the fact that all pre-black ops call of duty games are completely hacked and still thoroughly flawed but not receiving any updates whatsoever.
start8 doesn't work with 8.1 though
It works just fine for me.
It better be fucking Blood Wake. That is a game I would like to see revived.
I read the title as "In the coming years, we will destroy one of our beloved franchises".
If it's shitty as GFWL no thanks
That was announced to be shutting down ages ago.

It was available on Vista and up, so it was widely available after Windows 7. It was buggy as shit though and for a lot of people unplayable.
I think what OSes it supports depends on what DirectX it uses, they could play it safe and build for DirectX 11 in which case it should be compatible with Win7, but seeing what happened with DX10 and how they loved touting it around because of how great it was and how highly they think of DX11.1+ (Windows 8 exclusive), they might default to the newest DirectX available.
So they're repeating the whole Halo 2 and Vista bullshit? Sounds like they learned the lesson that taught them.
Please be this.

Midtown madness
Please give us the Gears of War franchise on PC
Please give us the Gears of War franchise on PC
First one is already on PC but it uses shitty GFWL.
If you aren't already on Windows 8 there's something wrong with you.
This thing boots in less than 5 seconds with an SSD.
Now hold on. I'm a Windows 8 apologist but still recognize that the upgrade just maybe isn't worth it for everyone. It's expensive. I would like it, sure, but not enough to drop more than $100 on it.

x-plane is pretty bad. A lot of people like FSX/9 for the visual aspect. I don't care how realistic X-plane is, it looks like they let an autistic 3 year old make the models/world.
also 9 disks how about no.
And btw I have X-Plane 9, it's seen about.... 2 hours of use?

Yeah, it pretty much got called out as a humiliating scam as soon as the pirates figured out how to run it perfectly well on XP.
Crimson Skies?
If it were this I'd "up"grade to win8 in a heartbeat
Dead rising?

Fusion Frenzy??
They do not own the Dead Rising IP, Capcom does.
This forum's windows 8 hate bandwagon is really out of hand and unjustified. I doubt any of you have tried the os for more than a few minutes
