Gamestop: "We'd Love to See Xbox 360/PS3 Price Cuts"

I agree, PS3 should be $150 and 360 should be $129 (no bluray lense = cheaper) by now. They've been $250 for like 4-5 years now.
PS1 was $50 when it was as old as these are now, PS2 was $99, original xbox was half price in just 3 years.
Even taking into account the price of 250/500gb hard drive + cheap bluetooth/wifi antennas, the prices for these 8/9 year old systems are high.
Good thing I need a new X360. Even if they drop the Kinect bundle to < $199.99, I'd buy it.
Gamestop employees get paid minimum wage and selling you the extra shit doesn't get us a bonus, it gets us more hours.
Also what the other guy said, if you have the lowest sales in the store you're going to get fired.
Sorry a few questions bug you so much, but working 40 hours asking people like you stupid questions is much easier than 40 hours sweating my ass off in a kitchen.
I'm friends with everyone at my local EBGames. Great people. They've taught me a lot about their jobs and now when I go there I know exactly how things are. It helps really, knowing what they can and can not do and just how things work in general.
I actually work at EB Games and yeah those questions (Edge Card, warranty, etc etc) are required to be said, apologies if it makes you angry or anything.
"I'm canadian, sorry."
thank you for shopping at literally any retail establishment ever. you are not inconvenienced by a couple extra offers before you walk out of the store
I don't get those extra offers that won't matter to me when I shop on steam
^ I remember an employee literally refused to checkout my game until I filled out the pro membership form. Every time I tried asking "hey dude can I just get my game and go" he was like "BUT WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANT THESE AMAZING DEALS!?"
Took me like fifteen minutes to get it through his thick skull that I had no interest in membership. Christ.
I'd tell him "Shut up or I'll fuck off and buy it from amazon, and never return"
I've never had an issue with EB Games before personally.
It's the only game store local to me that sells niche games too, like Disgaea or Danganronpa and stuff. I can't find any other retailers near me that sell those games and I can't order online because one of my 4 room-mates is a mail thief, so I kinda rely on EB to get new games...

Yep, if not even cheaper than that honestly. The way the prices on these ancient things are now, it'd be like me pulling my old x1900 Radeon out of the draw and trying to sell it to someone for $400... it's just plain ridiculous. You couldn't sell a 7 year old computer for the price they're still asking for 360's and PS3's here. I just looked in a local JB Hi Fi mag (big 'discount' music / tv superstore chain) and there was a PS3 500gb bundle or something for like $450... I just gagged, that's fucking ridiculous.
People I hear complain about Gamestop usually sound like the kind of people who hiss and scowl every time they seen any kind of advertisement.
I was a bit annoyed that they don't take in PS2 stuff as of 2013, but I can see why they wouldn't want to take in games for a two generation old console.
They're the only place around me with good controllers for the thing though. The place I usually go to for PS2 games has controllers that are either really brittle, breaking just casually playing Half-Life, or flat out don't work.
