I disagree, the best thing to do would have been to fall to the ground. I'm not talking about off chance luck to behind him but when you see armed robbers with AK-47's you should get the fuck down on the ground, even more so when you have cops pulling their guns.
Be that as it may, calling someone stupid for something he was unable to control is pretty stupid.
At least this didn't turn into a gun debate.
Incredible police work, nice job. Also impressive that we got 3 camera angles, from 3 directions. The future yo
For everyone saying the police didn't give a shit about the civilians or whatever, in this video at around 0:57 you can clearly hear 'backa undan' or back away in english. During a situation like this I wouldn't expect police'd try to move people away by any other means than shouting.
At 1:04 you can also hear someone say allahu akbar :v:
How do you not aim to kill?
Recently in Norway a guy lunged at the police with some melee weapon and they aimed for his legs. He went down and they brought him to a hospital.
Though it would be different if he was shooting at them with a weapon.

If he was close enough to lunge the legs would be much easier to hit than if they were relatively far away
I think some people forget that there is such a thing as a femoral artery. Leg shots can be super deadly.
"Allahu Akbar" :downs:
state of sweden nowadays.
How can you tell?
front sight post looks circular though it's hard to tell (though that would be a 56 not 58)
also makes sense because they're shooting in semi unless they're nice/don't want to waste ammo robbers
I'm not so sure about criminal gunfighting tactics but it seems like they would probably use full auto if presented with the option.

Oh is this the part where the closet-racist Scandinavians come in and blame it on Muslim immigrants?

Shock maybe. I mean, it's not something you'd expect happening to you.

Stop this dumb shit.
Oh thanks for that upstanding report from the Christian Broadcasting Network. Now I know the true dangers of multiculturalism, immigrants, and Muslims!
(P.s., I don't, and you're still racist)
Well the other robbers escaped in the car, so..
Funny thing is that the police station is just 100 meters from the location.

FYI I don't agree with the network either, doesn't make the facts less valid.
Which facts are those? Please elaborate

Family complaining about police brutality and saying hes a nice guy.
People like this just piss me off.
If someone in my family went on a public shooting spree, I'd want them punished, and I would want nothing to do with them ever again, barring extreme circumstances like some sort of severe mental disorder. I'd expect the same of my family in regards to me.
Why the forehead? Aren't you usually trained to shoot the torso since it's an easier target and less directly lethal?
[editline]5th January 2013[/editline]
I mean I'm not complaining since I'm pretty sure they're allowed to use deadly force when dealing with armed and dangerous hostiles, just curious.

Who says he aimed for the head?

If it was intentional, because the robbers are wearing body armor more often than not.
Bullets don't always go where you aim, he may have been aiming for center mass and just so happened to hit his forehead. Either way it doesn't matter because if you're opening fire on someone you are intending to kill them and that is exactly what the officer did.
A lot of people think that the two undercover policemen that was seen in the film was infact from the Swedish National Task Force, therefore shooting for the head and so on, they did also communicate using hand gestures which is something a normal policeman here isnt taught. But I guess we will never know for sure.

The robber who got shot is still alive but in critical condition.
I kind of understand the view point of others how they say "police brutality", but in all honesty if you knew someone was holding an AK in a bank full of people; they will most likely get fired upon. I'm just kind of glad none of them died, would be horrible for the family and friends to hear.
