Again, American perspective, but it seems like people felt they were generally pretty free under the EU and don't miss it's tyrannical rule but rather the benefits the came with it, such as being at the negotiating table for things like trade and immigration. Is there any positive to exiting the EU that isn't covered in a vague "more freedom" sort of way?
It is an absolutely ludicrous idea that people don't feel free here, like this is somekind of dictatorship or something lmao The EU laws are mostly just environmental, agricultural, fishing and trade laws I enjoy living here a thousand times more than I would outside of the EU and the non-EU EEA countries. I am very happy I live in a place that has high standards when it comes to regulations and that we can enforce those high standards because the EU is such a big bloc. We also need the EU to fight climate change. The EU forcing common environmental laws on the member states is more effective than each member state doing whatever on their own. It does not suprise me that a lot of Euroskeptics are also climate change deniers.
