Not all Nazis are fucking evil. People always overreact. He was probably just following orders. So some kids great grandpa who was just a German soldier during WWII was an evil Jew hating man? Not all were bad. Just the big ones.
you both are just such aweful posters
Thank you very much, but do tell why we should even bother spending boats filled with money on convicting criminals at a absurdly high age. They even do that to the ones that are very very sick.
If we look at the allied side, only a few.
yes not all nazis were bad
but
Samuel Kunz is also charged with personally shooting dead 10 Jews at Belzec in occupied Poland in 1942-43.

And you're a communist, good-day.
I'd rather be red than a fascist. :colbert:
Gas chambers were invented because there was a mental toll on shooters. So they know the guilt already.
Does this mean we can throw all war veterans in jail now?
You can't even argue this is justice, because it's revenge.
If he was some evil anti-Semitic Nazi, wouldn't he have continued killing Jews for the last 60 years? He didn't, so he already knows that it was wrong. That's the whole point of justice.
He's 88 years old. The guilt he has to live with should be more than enough.

what is killing/imprisoning an 88 year old man going to do other than wasting our fucking time and money?
ok, both of you missed heartboys second post.
He's 88 years old, this would be a punishment, while the whole point of the criminal system is to reform.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Nazi-hunting organisation, puts Mr Kunz as number three on its most-wanted list
Yeah go hunt 80+ year old people that have lived with the guilt for 60 years, so heroic.
He's 88 years old. The guilt he has to live with should be more than enough.
Assuming he actually felt any guilt.
Most German soldiers (and probably some Nazis) were forced to serve or else they would be put up against the wall.
[editline]04:14AM[/editline]
Basically it was either kill the Jews or face execution. Most people would save themselves
give him community service to work in a synagogue for the rest of his life
ok so because it's been a long time since they committed a crime, that person shouldn't be charged?

ok and? they still killed innocent people
itt: people defend nazis
ok, history lesson: The Waffen-SS and the Wehrmacht were two worlds in the German military. The SS was considered a paramilitary police organisation, not even military, it was the military wing of the SS.
this man was a SS soldier who killed 10 innocent people:
Samuel Kunz is also charged with personally shooting dead 10 Jews at Belzec in occupied Poland in 1942-43.
SS soldiers don't just act on orders or were forced into the military; most of the SS were made up of pretty much the most evil men to ever exist.
and 70 odd fucking years doesn't mean you're not capable of being prosecuted.
And you're all assuming he lives with the guilt. What guilt? Josef Mengele went to his grave smiling.
give him community service to work in a synagogue for the rest of his life
Now THAT'S a good sentence.

The penal system is in place to ensure that criminals are reformed and, by the time they get out, are a functional member of society. Putting him in prison now would just be a punishement.
Trying nazis in this day and age is stupid and redundant, I'm sure they've learned their lesson by now and imprisoning them is just retarded.
What about the newer more-crazy ones?
Most German soldiers (and probably some Nazis) were forced to serve or else they would be put up against the wall.
You weren't recruited to the SS, you joined. This man was SS, not the German Army.
Basically it was either kill the Jews or face execution. Most people would save themselves
No you ignorant fuck, it doesn't work like that: They joined the SS with full knowledge of Germany's stance of Jews: deportation, Polish division death squads etc.
[editline]08:17PM[/editline]
What about the newer more-crazy ones?
what have they done to be arrested?

So punishing a man who killed 10 innocent people is not right? the Penal system needs to reform and rehabilitate criminals, but you need some sort of justice at some point in time.
Guys, SS are volunteers, this guy signed up to kill Jews.
Why are they still chasing these people down? It's been 70 years since the war, its time to just let it go.
