• Alienware Launches PC That’s Disguised as a Console

It's a nice thing. Will work for an average gamer, the one that doesn't care about graphics and just wants to play games. But the problem I see with this and that tablet (which Is nice too), is that they have the wrong idea about 'saving' PC gaming. PC gaming isn't dying - it's just different. The only way to truly kill PC gaming is by turning it into console gaming. Which is what this thing, and that razer tablet, and that laptop want to do, thinking that they will save something that doesn't need saving.
You guys realize they have to pay for shipping, manufacture costs, QA, labor and all that. Then they have to make a profit on it.

If this was about 300 dollars cheaper it could be a serious contender. Making PC gaming more accessible for the lowest common denominator would be a good thing.
oh i guess that means i should waste my money then buying asap
Not completely sure if genuinely dumb or missing the point.
i missed the point what was it bb
They're a business. They sell to profit. If you don't care for their prices don't buy their product instead of bitching.
They're a business. They sell to profit. If you don't care for their prices don't buy their product instead of bitching.
yes but thats what the thread is p much saying anyway why are you preaching to the choir
Yes you're correct, I did say that. Why are you being so dumb.
This is a public forum where everybody can express their opinion. You are basicly saying that we should stop doing it.
Hey guys at least it stands true to one of the biggest principles in PC gaming: Choices
Only problem is the fact that they'll get massacred because they're using controller?
Only problem is the fact that they'll get massacred because they're using controller?
You don't need to use a controller. I don't see that being an issue.
This is a public forum where everybody can express their opinion. You are basicly saying that we should stop doing it.
Yeah, I expressed my opinion. Which according to your post is okay yet you're against me because I express my opinion?
Not a bad idea until you realize it's $700 (LOL) which is double the price of consoles while also basically playing the same games from the perspective of a console gamer, while also being much less powerful than a normal PC you can put together yourself with the same amount of money. Alienware doesn't realize they don't have the brand quality of apple, and therefore can't get away with upmarking their products by $150-$200 higher than their value to consumers. This PC might have a chance is Alienware had an actually good marketing department, and it was $500-$600 at the most. Especially since it's a nice low-power option (building a LAN computer that is made to be ultra portable and light on electricity would probably have similar specs).
Imagine the face on Generic-12-year-old when Mommy thinks she bought an Xbawks for him.
Imagine the face on Generic-12-year-old when Mommy thinks she bought an Xbawks for him.
"A computer? How the fuck am I supposed to play games on that?!"
6Kg and 240 watts, portable as fuck compared to my PC, which must be at least three times bigger, 12Kg and 600 watts.
Mine weight in at just shy of 18 kg, and has a 1K Watt power supply. Dual 570s bitches. :v:
You know, I've always wanted a PC that looks like a console, I love the idea... though alien ware is WAY too flashy I think for it.
You know, I've always wanted a PC that looks like a console, I love the idea... though alien ware is WAY too flashy I think for it.
It's always been one of my dreams to build a tiny microATX computer that runs on Linux that is designed to run emulators so I can have a sort of a retro gaming console and hook it up to my TV.
It sounds quite good, but it will probably be let down by the price.
So it's a beefy laptop with no screen.
I'd rather build my own, but I don't think it's a bad idea at all.
you know what, this is one of the first alienware cases I actually think doesn't look half bad
Battlefield 3 Demo ran fine on my Core 2 and HD5770 at full 1366x768, why won't this PC? Or is my Pc magic or something?
Disregard everything, it's an alienware Warned my freind soooo much, bought one anyways. 1 Week in, BSOD, overheating in his small clustered room, I opened it up and took a look and everything was poorly and loosley installed, tried to fix it but it became a paperweight after a few months, support ignored us.
