Would be cool if there is a decision to not kill and see what happens.
Play the entire game killing no people
[editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
fuck that I'm killing everyone :v:
Yeah, how many times have we heard that claim before? You remember the original AI plans for Oblivion? Radiant AI?

Yeah. I'm not holding my fucking breath on that promise.
rofl do you even know what radiant AI IS?
So you do have the choice to kill or not. Anyway, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a failure.. Like that game "Wet" that Bethesda had released a while back. Other than that this game looks promising.
How was that a failure? I haven't played it myself but everything about it looked awesome.
I don't think they'll be re-using stuff from skyrim seeing as its on a different engine. So, I doubt it'd play like skyrim at all.

Just go try it out, buy it or rent it or something if you can find it. Its pretty bad. I mean its so repetitive, boring, and not very action packed as they tried to portray it on the trailers and such. It was a pretty cheesy game in my opinion. It had no..well "Meat" or substance to it..

I don't have a console so I can't but oh well. The soundtrack is awesome though.
Why don't we move to this thread instead?: http://facepunch.com/threads/1105104/5
The revealing has kind off been done and we know it's this game so yeah.
Wow, it's okay for a game to be slightly similar to other games, but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
It looks like it'll reuse skyrim stuff. They'll probably use the same engine as they always bloody do, but instead of shouts you use the hand mark.
This has nothing to do with Bethesda Game Studios, thus no relation to Skyrim. Bethesda Softworks is the publishing department, but the developers are completely different people.
Wow, it's okay for a game to be slightly similar to other games, but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
Not really
and even if they did, so what?
Yeah, how many times have we heard that claim before? You remember the original AI plans for Oblivion? Radiant AI?

Um dishonored isn't made by Bethesda Game Studios, they are simply being published by Bethesda Softworks
The developer of Dishonored is Arkane
Wow, it's okay for a game to be slightly similar to other games, but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
The only similarities I can think of with Bioshock is that you have powers that you cast with your hand (which bioshock didn't invent) and Assassins Creed in that you assassinate people (which assassin's creed didn't invent).
If anything this game seems to have more similarities to Hitman.
Not really
and even if they did, so what?
I don't like playing the same games over and over.
The only similarities I can think of with Bioshock is that you have powers that you cast with your hand (which bioshock didn't invent)
Not just that, Bioshock 2's character had a symbol on his hand too.
...and Assassins Creed in that you assassinate people (which assassin's creed didn't invent).
It's the art style and parkour elements that are similar.
I was going to mention that it could be Dishonoured yesterday, as it seems to have slipped everyones minds that it existed. But for some reason left the thread before posting :v:
Oh well. Dishonoured actually looks really cool. I've been following it as much as I can, and the art direction looks amazing, we still need to see a lot more gameplay before I judge it, but it looks pretty solid. And the story, while it isn't anything truly special from what we know, sounds pretty interesting too.
Remember, Bethesda is two entities, Bethesda Softworks (the publisher) and Bethesda Game Studios (the developer), this is only being published by Bethesda, and developed by Arkane, so keep all your pessimism about "Bethesda" games out of it, because it won't apply unless they suddenly cut the deadline stupidly short.
[editline]Edited:[/editline]
Just realised i got the Bethesdas the wrong way around.
It looks like it'll reuse skyrim stuff. They'll probably use the same engine as they always bloody do, but instead of shouts you use the hand mark.
A few things;
It's not Bethesda making it, it's Arkane Studios. They're using a "custom" version of the Unreal Engine.
I'd also like to ask, where / what you saw that made you think they'll be re-using Skyrim stuff?
It appears that people still get "Publisher" and "Developer" mixed up a lot.
but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
Where do I pre-order?
I'd also like to ask, where / what you saw that made you think they'll be re-using Skyrim stuff?
The slow-time and the forward dash reminded me of that slow-time shout and wuul nah kest.
I just don't understand how the picture is connected to the game Dishonored. The image's art style is some really nice CG face that looks very realistic, however, Dishonored has a psuedo-cartoony artsyle very similar to Borderlands mixed with something out of Tim Burton. The art style of the gameplay footage looks totally different from that, and I don't understand why they look so different.

Not really. It's quite hard to place the artstyle, as in certain lighting it looks kind of cel-shaded, but in other lighting it's got a lot of details. Though that is the CG trailer which won't be accurate of the final graphics.
Where do I pre-order?
Yeah it will be fun. I'm not bashing the game I just want more originality.
Level design in Dishonored is made by the same Russian guy who designed City 17 in Half-Life 2.
His name is Viktor Antonov and he's Bulgarian, not Russian.
I could've gone for FO4 or some Skyrim DLC but this looks pretty kickass so I'm only slightly disappointed, yet excited at the same time.
It looks like it'll reuse skyrim stuff. They'll probably use the same engine as they always bloody do, but instead of shouts you use the hand mark.
Yes because after they made 1 single game on a brand new engine they directly need to pour lots of hours and money into a new one.
Also how the flying fuck can you compare this game with Skyrim?
I don't see any dragons flying around or seeing someone going on a grand adventure through the lands of whatever
Wow, it's okay for a game to be slightly similar to other games, but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
Assassin's Creed invented parkour. Bioshock invented steampunk (or w/e).
I don't like playing the same games over and over.
So if it was Bioshock and AC mashed together, where did you play a game like that?
Not just that, Bioshock 2's character had a symbol on his hand too.
Bioshock invented characters with symbols on their hands
It's the art style
Assassin's Creed invented old buildings
Parts of the aesthetic like the vehicles borrow a little too much from half life 2 for my liking but it still looks good.
Its always nice to see a new IP.
Wow, it's okay for a game to be slightly similar to other games, but they literally mashed Bioshock and Assassins Creed together.
Are you fucking blind?
Not just that, Bioshock 2's character had a symbol on his hand too.
OH WOW HE HAS A SYMBOL ON HIS HAND MUST BE THE SAME GAME!
[editline]17th April 2012[/editline]
Yeah it will be fun. I'm not bashing the game I just want more originality.
WHAT?
YOU WANT ORIGINALITY NOW DO YA?
Open your left eye and right eye simultaneously or if preferrable semi-simultaneously and you just might see some.
Dude calm down.
Oh, didn't know they hadn't officially revealed this. I know one of the developers, they've been putting pictures and video on the Internet for a while now, so I'm surprised it's just now becoming a big deal.
-eh dumb argument-
Wow, the world's inspired by Viktor Antonov, thought it looked kind of HL2ish with the awesome angular carriages looking like APCs and the artystyle in general. I'm definitely considering this, Bethesda haven't really let me down, and I've bought most of their games since Morrowind.
I wanted "Skyrim: Episodes From Windhelm City"
Still this looks like a cool game.

My fucking eyes are bleeding OH GOD THE HORROR
yeah scots dumber than a sac of nails but whoa man
though, his logic is
DOOM HAD GUNS AND FIRST PERSON
HALO HAD GUNS AND FIRST PERSON
THEREFORE HALO IS A COPY OF DOOM
seriously, who cares
Even if it was bioshock + asscreed it would be fucking awesome. They're both great games and a mix of these two sounds awesome to me. In my books it's ok to copy/rip off as long as it's as good as the original, if not better.
