you're really unpleasant to talk to
what do you want me to say? i've already acknowledged that your complaints are valid and yes, you're right, they are issues with the game. despite that, i enjoyed the game as a whole. the large amount of content kept me entertained, i enjoyed the side quests, i liked the combat and i replayed the game many times to develop different characters with different skillsets and abilities.
guess i'm just dumb lmao
[editline]16th April 2012[/editline]
uhh i already acknowledged that the writing was bad and its full of plotholes but i still enjoyed the game
are you sure you're not the dumb one here because you seem to be the one failing to recognize simple concepts here
No, I'm pretty sure you're the dumb one here because after I stated that Obsidian chose to go with a more rebuilt feeling because of 200 years having passed in the setting, I did not address my posts specifically towards you, since you already said you agree with the points I raised.
no i think he's just saying that despite all that it's still possible to enjoy the game
I never said it wasn't possible to enjoy it. In fact, I raised some positive sides of the game in my earlier posts.

this post doesn't make sense what are you even talking about
why am i dumb
Fallout 4 in the Chicago Area please.
I never said it wasn't possible to enjoy it. In fact, I raised some positive sides of the game in my earlier posts.
ok so there was no need to ask that guy if he thought fallout 3 wasn't riddled with plot holes etc..
Are you saying people of average or lower intelligence and/or education are not more likely to gloss over plot holes, dime a dozen characters, run of the mill writing and all the other points that I raised, if nothing else because they did not spot them in the first place?
So, basically you're saying 'I don't like these things in this game, and anyone who does like them is just too stupid to see them'?
Yeah, that's possibly the most egotistical and idiotic argument I've ever seen.
How's that superiority complex coming along?
this post doesn't make sense what are you even talking about
why am i dumb
First off, you'll post a reply stating that my post doesn't make sense without making the slightest effort to explain your reasoning, which doesn't even make sense.
Second off, you responded to my replies to thisispain and J!NX as if they were addressed to you.
ok so there was no need to ask that guy if he thought fallout 3 wasn't riddled with plot holes etc..
Third off, you have such a miniscule short-term memory that you don't remember that he was replying to my argument that fallout 3 is riddled with plot holes and challenging that assertation, without providing any points of his own as to why that is not the case.
So, basically you're saying 'I don't like these things in this game, and anyone who does like them is just too stupid to see them'?

Oh boy, here we go again. Are you saying that Fallout 3 does not have plot holes and bad writing?
brink 2 no doubt
the writing was way better than fallout 3 and it was refreshing to have an environment that wasn't entirely destroyed and gloomy but yeah, it was almost like the setting was too scenile and perfect, it wasn't as run down as a fallout game should be. i think fallout 3 was a little overkill with the overuse of green, and downtown DC was the worst thing in the history of games. traversing DC was so miserable i would just do side quests and ignore whatever quests wound up taking me to DC for a long time. hopefully in fallout 4 they find a good balance between fallout 3's gloomy apocalypse and the new vegas "rebuilt" feeling.
Fallout 3 didn't work in the Fallout universe. It was like people had just sat around for TWO HUNDRED YEARS after the fucking bombs dropped, instead of actually trying to rebuild society like the west coast did.
Oh boy, here we go again. Are you saying that Fallout 3 does not have plot holes and bad writing?
I don't really care, it's irrelevant. You clearly think they do, and there's nothing wrong with that. What I have a problem with is your constant assumption that your opinions are objective truths and that anyone who disagrees is either stupid or lying.

Which are just some of the many examples of horrible writing in Fallout 3. Does that look like good writing to you?
Fallout in Alaska, I've already stated this before.

i was actually just pointing out that you were being an idiot by implying that the only reason people enjoy the game is because they're stupid and they fail to see issues within the game, and my situation is a perfect example of why you're wrong. i see the issues in the game and still enjoy it so clearly your superiority complex is all for none.
Third off, you have such a miniscule short-term memory that you don't remember that he was replying to my argument that fallout 3 is riddled with plot holes and challenging that assertation, without providing any points of his own as to why that is not the case.
he told you to get off your high horse, and said that different people have different opinions of the game, you replied with "OH SO CLEARLY FALLOUT 3 DOESNT HAVE ANY PLOTHOLES HUH HUH??" which was not at all what he was saying. maybe instead of desperately trying to seem articulate and intellectual by lobbing ornate and petty insults at people who disagree with you, you should just slow down and recognize that you're making stupid assumptions about people based on whether they enjoy a game or not.
Then I'd like to show you something.

"Have you been to the cloud district lately? Oh what am I saying, I know you haven't"
That's Nazeem's only line.
AIN'T SKYRIM'S WRITING GREAT!
Then I'd like to show you something.

i honestly don't see an issue with any of the writing here
he told you to get off your high horse, and said that different people have different opinions of the game, you replied with "OH SO CLEARLY FALLOUT 3 DOESNT HAVE ANY PLOTHOLES HUH HUH??" which was not at all what he was saying. maybe instead of desperately trying to seem articulate and intellectual by lobbing ornate and petty insults at people who disagree with you, you should just slow down and recognize that you're making stupid assumptions about people based on whether or not they enjoy a game or not.
The reason I'm doing this is because it's not really a case of me having an opinion about something. My opinion just happens to fall in line with the objective truth.
i honestly don't see an issue with any of the writing here
Are you serious? A grade school student could write this shit.
Splendor you need to calm down, I don't like Fallout 3 either but insulting peoples intelligence is a bit much, they like Fallout 3 because of the focus on exploration, we don't like it because it throws anything Fallouty out the window in favor of Bethesda's usual game formula, unfortunately Fallout 3 wasn't made for Fallout fans, which is bullshit, but there isn't anything we can do about it.
At least there is Wasteland 2 to look forward to.
The reason I'm doing this is because it's not really a case of me having an opinion about something. My opinion just happens to fall in line with the objective truth.
ok please factually prove your points.
please irrefutably prove to me that the writing is bad, SPECIAL is fucked up, and VATS makes things too easy. i eagerly await your detailed scientific data proving to me that these game elements are objectively "bad" by a defined scientific standard.
are we talking about development studio? If so, Fallout 4.
are we talking about the publishing studio? if so, either Doom 4, or the fabled dead sequel to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

Or dishonored!
I hope its Rogue Warrior 2: Rouge Harder.
OH MY FUCKING GOD I HOPE IT'S BRINK 2
I PLAYED SO MUCH BRINK
LIKE, 15 MINUTES
GOD IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME
The reason I'm doing this is because it's not really a case of me having an opinion about something. My opinion just happens to fall in line with the objective truth.
Yeah ok you really are an idiot. There is no objective truth about how good a game's writing or whatever is. There is only your opinion, but for some reason you've decided that your own views are the only ones that matter and anyone who disagrees is just stupid. Like I said, superiority complex.
Am I really going to have to explain the difference between fact and opinion to you? For someone who claims to be so smart you don't seem all that educated.
My opinion just happens to fall in line with the objective truth.
Well you can just go to ass
If it's Fallout 4 I will literally jizz so hard I'll fucking break the monitor
I have played Fallout 3 from start to finish no less than 4 times.
30 hours approx
I fucking loved it.
New Vegas was even more.
Oh god, the Fallout revivals are just so amazing. Bethesda, if you want my money, release Fallout 4.
get on my level
He is right about VATS though, it makes the game very easy because as soon as you toggle it you become invincible.
Glad Obsidian fixed that in New Vegas, you can actually die while using it.
in all honesty though
I could give less of a fuck about Skyrim. I thought Skyrim was overhyped to bajesus and back, don't get me wrong, it was okay, but it did not for a moment carry the magic that wandering the Mojave or the Capital Wasteland does for me.
I could play Fallout until my eyes bled. I burned out on Skyrim.
Mark my words, I'll preorder any bogus Collectors edition for Fallout 4.

You can wield an Experimental MIRV and fire it perfectly with a strength of 1. You can access all the best speech options with an intelligence of 1.

and? while these are certainly convincing opinions they aren't facts. you know what facts are right?
there's literally no facts in this post it's just your opinion lol
what defines "best" speech options? who defined them? why?

I have no doubt matched you for Fallout 3.
New Vegas possibly not as much.
Can't check since I play 'em on Xbox, as my PC isn't for gaming
except starcraft
The character in that concept art doesn't really strike me as a person of the Fallout world, more like a TES character. I do want to believe Fallout4 is coming though.
