in the eyes of the law it does. I agree when it comes to jailbait you can argue the logical implications of the legal age but since the article isn't specific about the content the point is moot
The quote in the post I was quoting was referring to 16 or 17 year old kids. That's what I was referring to too when I quoted Pelican.
regardless of the fact that having sex with a guitar has no moral implications whatsoever???, the attraction vs action distinction has been done to death. obviously you can't (rationally) blame someone for what turns them on, but if they do stuff based on their strokes then that's a different story. The difference between a pedophile and a child rapist.
Yes, that's my point. People judge too quickly, if someone is attracted to children HE MUST BE A CHILD RAPIST DEATH SENTENCE [editline]9th February 2012[/editline]
Stop trying to make your disgusting behaviour sound acceptable
I'm 19. If I'm attracted to someone who is two years younger than I am, am I pedophile?
I'm 19. If I'm attracted to someone who is two years younger than I am, am I pedophile?
If you beat the meat to a video/pictures, then yes. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] You make me sick. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] Death sentence.
0-13ish (pre-puberty) = pedophilia 11-14 (early puberty) = hebephilia 15-19 (mid-to-late puberty) = ephebophilia
I'm 19. If I'm attracted to someone who is two years younger than I am, am I pedophile?
But the thing is that this guy isn't 19. He's much older which makes it pretty sick that he has nudes of minors on his cellphone.
"heh i just stole a phone lets look through his photos hehe" JESUS CHRIST.
"heh i just stole a phone lets look through his photos hehe" JESUS CHRIST.
Think through the mind of a thief. If you're wanting to shift some goods; you won't want to sell something that would incriminate you further than thievery. So you would check first.
I'm 19. If I'm attracted to someone who is two years younger than I am, am I pedophile?
No, you are not a pedophile. My friend was fifteen when she started dating with 21-years old guy. If both are consent and are aware of the relationship, it's okay even it's frowned upon in the eyes of the law.
But the thing is that this guy isn't 19. He's much older which makes it pretty sick that he has nudes of minors on his cellphone.
Is there any objective reason you find it sick? "Just being wrong" is not an answer, I want a fact that gives a reason why a particular age is the definitive age one may have sex. The age of consent is an arbitrary number, as it would imply that there is a particular age at which someone may give informed consent. As many smarter children have proven, this number is completely unecessary, as age is not entirely directly associated with intellect.
I don't think there's anything weird in being attracted to late teenagers. Yeah, he was an idiot for having nude pictures, but that doesn't make it wrong. I could be attracted to guitars but not actually rape guitars, is that wrong?
Well, the case isn't finished yet. For all we know, he could've taken those pictures himself.
0-13ish (pre-puberty) = pedophilia 11-14 (early puberty) = hebephilia 15-19 (mid-to-late puberty) = ephebophilia
To add to the pointless debate, finding ephebophilia attractive definitely doesn't make you a pedophile. Especially, but not only, when you are in your early 20s.
Pedophiles are not the problem, they have a sexual disorder and they deserve to get help. The problem is the pedophiles that molest and rape children.
Pedophiles are not the problem, they have a sexual disorder and they deserve to get help. The problem is the pedophiles that molest and rape children.
Couldn't agree more. But there should be equal emphasis on helping people watching CP and catching people raping children. The sooner you could rehabilitate someone who likes child porn, the smaller the risk that person actually goes and rapes someone. [editline]9th February 2012[/editline] There should be some sort of amnesty, where you can turn yourself in with CP but instead of getting arrested, you get rehabilitated.
But the thing is that this guy isn't 19. He's much older which makes it pretty sick that he has nudes of minors on his cellphone.
So when you're 60 you're not allowed to find 20 year olds attractive at all?
So when you're 60 you're not allowed to find 20 year olds attractive at all?
You're obviously not listening to what he's saying. He's not saying "60 year olds can not find 20 year-olds attractive". He's stating that a middle-aged man was actually in posession of pictures of minors, either posing sexually or engaging in sexual act. We do not know if he took these himself and raped these girls, or if they're actually like 25-year olds that look young. PLEASE stop jumping to conclusions.

Obviously one needs to be a paedophile in order to rape a child, but it isn't sctrictly the case that it be the other way around as well. For the most part I agree however.

This can be seen in two ways: "Oh god oh jesus what is this. I must take the high road and help arrest this man, even if that means losing my liberty" "Fuck yeah, get out of jail free card."

But if you've not yet molested anyone then you should get rehabilitation. The man is clearly quite intelligent.
A thief with morals....
Oddly enough that romantic idea is still alive and well.
Yes I know, as soon as I saw the CP i handed the phone over. Even I have standards
It's still rape if it's against someone's will.
Yes, of course. However, there is a certain point where someone is able to, with full knowlege of the implications of their actions, say that they consent to sexual relations. I believe this point can be reached regardless of age, and that if anyone says that someone must be a specific age to reach this point they are only setting an arbitrary number which will almost always be incorrect.
I see your point but that discussion doesn't belong here.
I suppose, yes.
Sorta hope this guy gets off easy. Yes he did steal a phone, but uncovered something very serious because of it. Not to mention, had the decency to turn himself in to assist police with an investigation into the matter. I would give this man a round of applause. Don't know about the rest of you, but thats how I feel.
0-13ish (pre-puberty) = pedophilia 11-14 (early puberty) = hebephilia 15-19 (mid-to-late puberty) = ephebophilia
Consider me an 19-year old ephebophile then. I'm also attracted to women older than 19 though. Which would make me a teleiophile.
Reminds me of those kids that broke into that mans house and stole a ton of, what they thought to be blank CDs only to find they were full of child pornography.
I was about to come and post about other cases of this happening but couldn't remember the specfics. For some reason I think a lot of theifs would do the same thing if they came across anything really serious on something they stole.
A thief with morals....
Most thieves steal as a last resort due to the system having failed them. They dont like what they do.
I'm attracted to a 15-year old girl, and I'm 18. LOCK ME UP, please, I can't control MY URGES.
Still he should be punished for stealing, because as admirable as his act was, stealing just isn't ok.
he was, 1 month in jail and a 400$ fine, this is really one of those times where the system worked quite well
