Bah, they're both bloody scumbags. I'm not even voting this year.
That'll show em! Fucking seriously dude, at least play damage control and pick the candidate that will do the least harm. That's basically what two-party systems are all about anyways.
the more money you have, the less money is worth, which is why mitt romney needs more of it
Yes. If someone has several overseas bank accounts in tax-haven countries then they are most definitely doing something shady.
Or maybe they just don't want to pay taxes?
Well since he's a millionaire he won't be prosecuted even if he was guilty. Money can't buy everything, but it sure as hell can buy your innocence.
Or maybe they just don't want to pay taxes?
and that isn't shady....?
and that isn't shady....?
Nope. It isn't illegal to avoid taxes that way, and if the actual money is clean, then they can do what they want with it.
His friend comes first, not his friend's wife, or that's how it would work in his eyes as I'd assume. And for all we know, that's what he honestly could have believed or figured to happen. A few weeks is enough time to reconsider.
I, too, think nepotism is a desirable trait in a candidate.
Nope. It isn't illegal to avoid taxes that way, and if the actual money is clean, then they can do what they want with it.
I don't equate morality with legality. Just because something is technically legal doesn't make it technically alright to do. For someone of obscene wealth to go to such lengths to prevent his money from actually being used to benefit people takes an incredibly shady human being.
I, too, think nepotism is a desirable trait in a candidate.
I believe the proper term is "bros before hoes".
Nope. It isn't illegal to avoid taxes that way, and if the actual money is clean, then they can do what they want with it.
i didn't say illegal i said shady. if it was illegal he would(should) be in jail.
Well then I'd vote myself, but I wasn't born here, so that's impossible. Guess I'll vote Gabe Newell or something. Gaben 2012
Vote for May Kadoody
I believe the proper term is "bros before hoes".
Beaches & shores man.
Or maybe they just don't want to pay taxes?
Is tax evasion not shady? [editline]24th October 2012[/editline]
i didn't say illegal i said shady. if it was illegal he would(should) be in jail.
He could very well have gone to jail if he was one of the 4000 Americans involved in the aforementioned UBS crackdown and turned down the amnesty offer for some reason.
Is tax evasion not shady?
Is it not the case with every corporation-owner?
Is it not the case with every corporation-owner?
It's almost as if there's something intrinsically unpalatable about being a business mogul...
I'm confused, he said Staples was worthless so the stock dropped and he then sold his stock?
Basically in court he said that Staples was undervalued so that his friend would have a lower settlement. This was only said in court and not heard by the public. He and is friend then sold all of their stock in the company so that they would A. make a lot of money (since the stock was of a higher value than he claimed) and B. Prevent any loss they could incur in the event that those statements got out.
I'll bet he'll get away from it scott-free
I'll bet he'll get away from it scott-free
The rich get away with far too much far too often.
