This is worse than conventional terrorism. They only have societal and political goals. These guys are going after the guys everyone has a silent agreement not to go after.
Why has nobody made a Gordon Freeman joke yet?
I'm more surprised nobody's made a Deus Ex joke yet. It features anti-technological fuckwits, AND bombs.
Individuals Tending to Savagery is actually a Deus Ex HR viral arg that went rogue.
Or maybe I just can't fucking read. :downs:
I'm more surprised nobody's made a Deus Ex joke yet. It features anti-technological fuckwits, AND bombs.
Somebody said Purity First had a real-life counterpart, but that was about it.
Well people didnt live past 30 in the stoneage so, im considering technology pro human. And fucks like these should be banned from watching movies.
Stupid fucking Anarcho-Primitivists. Go hump a pamphlet on Social Darwinism, you luddite bastards.
Anti-tech people.....using.....bombs? These people are trying to appear as credible, right?
Well most of the bombs they've sent either didn't detonate, or didn't detonate correctly, I doubt it's subtle irony on their part though. [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Speaking of irony;
In statements posted on the Internet, the ITS expresses particular hostility towards nano*technology and computer scientists.
If they hate technology so much, why don't they just go to central Africa or something, they'll be happy there and we will be happier without them.
uh i don't think you understand the definition of Luddite. it's not "anyone who opposes technology" the word Luddite refers only to people who oppose specific pieces of technology which replace human workers and so result in people being unemployed [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] ie people opposed to nanotechnology because they think it'll destroy the world aren't luddites

The Luddites opposed the Industrial revolution in general because it was going to replace them and generally change their way of life. But that was literally all it could do because of the limitations of the time, they couldn't oppose it for much else. Today, the term has expanded to encompass anyone opposed to technological change. Don't believe me? Go check the Oxford dictionary, or go check Merriam-Webster. Or will you try and argue that both of them are wrong as well?
Luddites are people who deserve to be given the worst death out of all humans. The death penalty exists for them.
Wasn't this posted before? This shit is pretty scary, fortunately I think it's mostly confined to Mexico which is in a really shitty state at the moment.
Luddites are people who deserve to be given the worst death out of all humans. The death penalty exists for them.
Don't bring the death penalty into this, please. This is a very clear-cut discussion where it's obvious who is in the wrong, we don't need the waters getting murky.
Don't bring the death penalty into this, please. This is a very clear-cut discussion where it's obvious who is in the wrong, we don't need the waters getting murky.
They are in the wrong. They are the worst kind of humans.
wow you people need to read the article clearly they aren't against *every* technology
They still aren't bright though, they're killing programmers.
They are in the wrong. They are the worst kind of humans.
And that necessitates killing them? Isn't killing anyone who doesn't share your point of view exactly why we hate religious extremism?
And that necessitates killing them? Isn't killing anyone who doesn't share your point of view exactly why we hate religious extremism?
It's Sobotnik, shit like that can be safely disregarded.
And that necessitates killing them? Isn't killing anyone who doesn't share your point of view exactly why we hate religious extremism?
They sent bombs to kill scientists. They want to delay technology that can save lives. If they do that why do they deserve to live.
They sent bombs to kill scientists. They want to delay technology that can save lives. If they do that why do they deserve to live.
They'll be defeated using legal and safe means. If we can't do that, then we're no better than they are.
They'll be defeated using legal and safe means. If we can't do that, then we're no better than they are.
It doesn't matter what we do, we have to make sure that anti-technology luddism as a concept does not even exist inside the minds of all humans.
It doesn't matter what we do, we have to make sure that anti-technology luddism as a concept does not even exist inside the minds of all humans.
Err, Sobotnik, has anyone ever suggested that you maybe be a bit less facist?
Err, Sobotnik, has anyone ever suggested that you maybe be a bit less facist?
Let be reword such a statement then. It doesn't matter what do we, we have to make sure that anti-technology luddism never gets further than the individuals mind.
It doesn't matter what we do, we have to make sure that anti-technology luddism as a concept does not even exist inside the minds of all humans.
People shall be entitled to their views. If they want to be left behind by the world, let them. Just stop them if they try to stop us - legally and cleanly, and always in self-defence.
How the hell can you be against technology? You'd literally have to live in a cave like a cave man. Hell, back in the day, a sharpened flint stone on a long stick was cave-man high-tech, it was bling for them, got you lots of pussy you'd have to be against ALL progress itself and therefore live off nothing. :psy:
Let be reword such a statement then. It doesn't matter what do we, we have to make sure that anti-technology luddism never gets further than the individuals mind.
Of course. However, killing them in anything less than self-defence is the first step towards becoming a totalitarian thought police state. If at all possible, we should not kill them, and instead teach them that they are entitled their own opinions - just that they can not intefere with the majority's.
People shall be entitled to their views. If they want to be left behind by the world, let them. Just stop them if they try to stop us - legally and cleanly, and always in self-defence.
The problem is it is like a weed. Stopping their actions is merely killing it above ground. The root still exists and will regrow in the future.
The problem is it is like a weed. Stopping their actions is merely killing it above ground. The root still exists and will regrow in the future.
Then we stop them. If they want to make their opinions public, we'll let them - just warn them that if they try anything, we will be forced to defend ourselves. If they keep underground where they can't do any harm, they are entitled to their opinions. This seems to be what you are not understanding.

All dictatorships and democracies do eventually fall. In such situations the luddites can rise to power and start to do their work which can impede the human race.

If we get to the point where democracy - and thus the opinion of the majority - no longer exists, I doubt there would be much we can do. At that point, even your suggested measures would not help; you say we should take the death penalty to the luddites - how would this stop them when there is no government to carry it through? There would be nothing we could do, and killing people now won't do anything but help ensure someone feels a need to dissolve the government carrying through with the killings.
Anti-Technology.. Technology is a big word. Everything helpful is technology on some level, like having a drink in your glass. Smart! And it goes a very long way.. You don't wanna be an anti-technology person.
They are in the wrong. They are the worst kind of humans.
why are you so ass backwards, sobotnik
