yes, please, let us in oh enlightened one.
The government isn't any smarter than the general public. The fact that you think it is is fucking scary.
How is a bureaucratic, rich politician supposed to know more about the economy than a CEO anyway?
Our Government is run by lazy bums, many who have never held a real job, or worked a day in their life.

Not really no. That is incredibly wrong and short-sighted.
This is not Glenn Beck Universe.
Please enlighten us groveling members of the public, what is going on?
Okay, here is what I know
Giant industries compete for our health insurance. This should theoretically lower costs due to the 'god given' laws of capitalism, but they don't. They form an ogliarchy similar to the old monopolies of the late 1800s, the ones that Teddy Roosevelt fucked up. So they work together to keep premiums up.
A plan nationalizing healthcare would remove profit industries, and put in a non-profit organization that would have no incentive to raise premiums. Yes there is mistrust in the government so I can understand that
A plan to use a public option to compete naturally with the industries to insure lowering of prices was big, and the health insurance industries saw this as a threat, and put in a fuckton of funding into various outlets, that in turn influence the public, making us think that it's a "government takeover", "socialism", and others. Using scare tactics like "death panels". It freaks people out, and it worked. This is what has spawned the tea party, fear.
So now we have a watered down bill that does pretty much nothing, and I hope that it passes anyways because without it we have absolutely NO change.

You act like the congressmen are going to run the health care system. Congressmen aren't generals, but they are the ones that vote for and against military spending and programs.
Also you clearly don't understand the economic implications of destroying an entire industry and eliminating hundreds of thousands of jobs in your ideal conditions.

I felt the same way until we bailed out the banks and they returned the favor with bonuses. I honestly want an economic collapse to restart things.

Seriously are you mentally deficient?
You do realize that the people who'd be losing their jobs wouldn't be the rich CEO's with stuffed wallets, it'd be the middle class white-collar worker. Hundreds of thousands of them. All immediately impoverished.
Do you even realize that people will fucking die if you do that?
Some change is better than no change hyuck hyuck!
You're so cute, you just like post after lankist making snide comments that are supposed to be insulting but they just come across as immature.

So basically you're just going to dodge and not fucking educate yourself.
After spending half an hour whining about how the public doesn't educate itself.

I'd be lying if I said I read it. I'm sure very few congressmen have read it, nor have the time to, thats what interns are for. But you claim to have read it multiple times, so I just wonder what your favorite part is.

No, I'm pretty sure most of the congressmen have read it.
That's why these votes and deliberations take so long.
