....and this is why we cannot have nice things. WHY SHOOT AT A PRICELESS PIECE OF HISTORY?! Thankfully it shouldn't be too hard to repair the rocket, but for fuck's sake people. The Saturn V is the epitome of cool, badassery and pricelessness. Those things set off siesmometers when they were launched, they are the largest rockets to ever carry a man, and they put man on the moon several times. DO NOT FUCKING SHOOT AT IT!
There are museums in Alabama?
Its actually a church, They just needed to name it museums so they can get dem fancy intellectuals from new york.
I went to that space museum once. Easily one of the best days of my life. You seriously have to see these things up close to get a good idea of how fucking big they are. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline]
holy shit this is awesome [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] oh my god this is even cooler aaaa
The place is fucking amazing.
taking a shot at america's solid-fuel dong
Saturn 5 was liquid fueled... :v:
Thankfully the rocket stage was only slightly dented and had some paint peel off. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] The Saturn V is absolutely amazing btw.
I still can't imagine how high that thing is when you're standing right next to it. The pictures of it in the building made me more aware of it though.
dumbfucks probably thought it would explode
Look at it, it's begging to be shot, it's just sitting there teasing everyone who drives by:
I've been there (hella cool place, I must say) and that giant thing that's standing up is a model. The real one is inside that long, low-lying building next to it that you can see in those pictures. So somehow dude got a gun inside there and shot at it. I hate him, I could never bear to watch the Saturn V get damaged:suicide: [editline]5th May 2012[/editline]
I still can't imagine how high that thing is when you're standing right next to it.
So somehow dude got a gun inside there and shot at it.
No, it was shot at through the window, which is probably why it didn't suffer significant damage (A dent and some paint scraped off).
(Whoops didn't read that part)

Breaking through the sound barrier just a minute after liftoff. [editline]5th May 2012[/editline] Also, I know the Saturn V is big, but I think it also fits in smaller images!
I still can't imagine how high that thing is when you're standing right next to it. The pictures of it in the building made me more aware of it though.
You should go there someday, it really is amazing.
Fuck people I'm less surprised now.
stopen duh spehs satenists from tryin 2 kil jesus1!!!!!
I spent a weekend their during a middle school trip, it was awesome. I think it was a program called astrotrek. It was the first time I saw an IMAX movie, and they have some awesome films (Including one about a multinational air force war-game). Apparently they still do it: http://www.spacecamp.com/mu/groups/astrotrek I just don't understand the motive.
I bet it was a laid off NASA employee.
I bet it was a laid off NASA employee.
I don't think so. I think most people that's ever worked at NASA has incredible respect for the Saturn V and all the people who worked on, with or in it.
