Everyone has the right to have their own opinion no matter how stupid and idiotic it is.
no one said they didn't
Isn't this the healthcare bill that's meant to give America a UHC and let people who can't afford medical insurance not die?
No, it's supposed to impose a number of new regulations on the insurance industry to eliminate some of their worst practices, as well as require everyone in the country to buy insurance either from the government or from private corporations. A lot of the expense is subsidies for people that can't afford to do so. [editline]02:26AM[/editline]
Everyone has the right to have their own opinion no matter how stupid and idiotic it is.
They have the right to have it, sure, just like we have the right to dismiss them as the idiots they are.
Oh really...
Disregard, I'm an idiot. (And embarassed) to think I passed American history with straight A's... I'm going to go hang myself on a cherrytree. Peace! [editline]01:32AM[/editline]
[editline]02:26AM[/editline] They have the right to have it, sure, just like we have the right to dismiss them as the idiots they are.
valid point.
Yes, it was Abe Lincoln that said he cannot tell a lie. That's why they called himhonest Abe... [editline]01:32AM[/editline] valid point.
My good man, you are mistaken. Google "GEORGE WASHINGTON CHERRY TREE"
obama is not helping the people that he suppose to do, therefore he nothing more then a dickweed trying to become a fucking dictator. This free health care going to put us in more debt and this be the fall of the united states and end up being in another depression... that means more people are lossing jobs and corporations and other businesses will collapse. Obama might be the worst president we had in the united states...
and you might be the worst poster we had on face punch and the dumbest you should feel bad.
In before anti-conservative hate speech.
as opposed to?
It's nice to see you value peoples opinion.
not when the opinions are terrible.
I like how dark is going through the thread and rating people dumb out of spite
I can't say I'm particularly happy with the idea of a public option. Personally, I hope the bill doesn't pass.
Godwin's law.
Same goddamn thing I was thinking. :godwin:
I thought this bill was a good thing? Healthcare is great, it's better then spending your money on guns to go create more conflict with foreign nations.
Read about the US' version of universal health care, it's absolute shit.
Well I would but IT DOESN'T EXIST. If you're referring to the public option that's a minimal plan designed to be a benchmark. Yeah, it's pretty shit, but it's only designed to make the rest of health care affordable. [editline]07:59AM[/editline]
I can't say I'm particularly happy with the idea of a public option. the american right-wing has got to be the most ignorant and narrow-minded political element to ever exist
the american right-wing has got to be the most ignorant and narrow-minded political element to ever exist
I don't know. I'm pretty sure the BNP is a close second at least. They're a first in least competent though.
I don't know. I'm pretty sure the BNP is a close second at least. They're a first in least competent though.
But the BNP actually believes what they say. The republican party are a bunch of corrupt assholes with only financial interests in mind. [editline]08:53PM[/editline] Also every president is a Nazi because the moment someone is called a nazi EVERY bad connotation of the word is associated with that person, therefore making them a racist jew killer, which Obama obviously isn't.
Well I heard Nazi Germany had a great healthcare system. Something about cleansing, exercise camps and showers.
the american right-wing has got to be the most ignorant and narrow-minded political element to ever exist
Their logic is completly messed up. "DON'T LET THE GOVERNMENT CONTROL HEALTHCARE! We want small government!" and yet "LET THE GOVERNMENT CONTROL WHO CAN MARRY WHO! We want government involvement in marrage laws and rights" Wha?
The tea-baggers strike again. :emo: [editline]08:13AM[/editline]
But the BNP actually believes what they say. The republican party are a bunch of corrupt assholes with only financial interests in mind.
Which one is worse?
The tea-baggers strike again. :emo: [editline]08:13AM[/editline] Which one is worse?
They're both equally the scum of the earth.
I'm not sure, where's the problem with American health care? [editline]03:01PM[/editline] Please enlighten a non American.
Ugh... America's gone down the tubes already. It can only go downhill from here. That's why I stopped caring.
I'm not sure, where's the problem with American health care? [editline]03:01PM[/editline] Please enlighten a non American.
America has a two-party political system, and whatever the Conservitives don't like, they deem as "Communist-like," "the end of America," "SOCALISM!!!!" etc, and get their pundits to minulipulate public opinion via the media (mostly :foxnews:)
Can't wait to see how all this unfolds itself in the coming months.
Personally I'm proud and happy about these protests. This is the freedoms we have given to us at work.
Personally I'm proud and happy about these protests. This is the freedoms we have given to us at work.
Spoken like a true patriot. :patriot:
I'm not sure, where's the problem with American health care? [editline]03:01PM[/editline] Please enlighten a non American.
Well, I'm a non American too, but I believe it's something like: You need to be fucking wealthy to be able to pay healthcare insurance. You need to be fucking healthy to be able to get a healthcare insurance. You need to be fucking lucky to actually get some money from your healthcare insurance when you need it.
No thanks, I don't want a shit load more taxes.
Yeah, just a $4,500 bill for getting in an automobile collision, right?
I'm not sure, where's the problem with American health care? [editline]03:01PM[/editline] Please enlighten a non American.
To try and sum it up: -There are somewhere on the order of 45 million uninsured people in the country. Lack of any real public healthcare institution means that those people that can't afford to buy insurance and don't get it through their employer have no access to healthcare without paying out of pocket, which is the number one cause of personal bankruptcy. -The above leads to roughly 15,000 deaths per year as a direct result of being uninsured, or at least that was the last number I heard. -Most of the country only has one or two insurance companies to choose from, meaning the industry behaves more like a cartel than a competitive marketplace. -Insurance premiums are extremely high and growing by double digits each year, while the companies continue to grab at every last excuse to refuse to cover people when they have to file a claim, including running a massive bureaucracy to discourage people, disqualifying people on the excuse of a preexisting condition, and some companies have discontinued entire insurance programs to get rid of people receiving continuous care that they couldn't legally cancel the policies of.
I thought this bill was a good thing? Healthcare is great, it's better then spending your money on guns to go create more conflict with foreign nations.
If this passes, people the don't already have health care provided by a employer will be given the "option" of getting government provided health care. If the they chose not to take the it, they'll be taxed an amount near the cost required to get coverage. Coverage won't actually start until 2013, but you'll still have to pay coverage/taxes on it despite that fact that it will be several years before you actually gain any benefit. Other problems include higher taxes blah blah blah... It's just not a very well designed bill. Also, our military spending don't get us into trouble, our politics do.
Read about the US' version of universal health care, it's absolute shit.
But it's a start.

I'm glad I live in a social state. Currently I'm starting to work for the Red Cross. We picked up a guy with our ambulance who called. He was very drunk. while we brought him to a mental hospital we asked him WHY he wanted us to bring him there - he said he wanted to get happy. The station doctor then ranted about how we bring in every drunk guy, we play taxi and stuff, waste money on people who get thrown out the next day. But... That's our system. Everybody gets help. Hell the driver even told me how he reanimated somebody who hanged himself for 15minutes, only that they brought him to the hospital where he got intensive treatment with all kinds of machines and medicine only to die 4 hours later - again. With the money that cost, there could have been saved many people's lives in other countries like India or Africa. I'm glad the way it is here. People tend to abuse the system, coughing 2 times and going to the doctor, getting some medicine and pumping stuff in their body. But it's better than letting people pay for basic treatment. Medical treatment is expensive as shit. Not having an insurance to cover for you are medieval conditions, people suffering from unnecessary illnesses or even dying because of some random stuff that shouldn't even happen in industrialized countries. Oh, wall of text, sorry

That guy's the real founder of modern conservatism, Regan's just the guy who got it into office.
