Thousands gather
like 5 know what they're talking about
Politics:
2% informed discourse
Now with more sensationalism!
are you a fucking nazi
Christ almighty. They can keep their sodding expensive healthcare, but allow the poor to be payed for by the government. That's how the NHS works in Britain, and it's saved hundreds of people's lives.
Hundreds doesn't really seem like that many considering 50+ million people live there.
yes anyone who has any sort of political conviction is obviously just brainwashed
look at you, look at how proud you are to think you're above it all
no, the overwhelming majority of rightists and leftists (that is, zealots) are uneducated pricks who really know nothing about the inner workings of a political system and why certain things are the way they are
they refuse to bend whatsoever
if you're not moderate enough you're not going to get shit done. far left liberals are just as annoying and uneducated as far right conservatives
basically you're counterproductive if you're not in the political middle, because otherwise you're just going to bitch, refuse to compromise anything, and have to wait until you have a triple majority in the oval office, senate, and congress
and then once that happens we're a one party system and no one wants a one party system because bad shit happens in one party systems
shit look at high school students, (new)liberal high school students call people bigots for not liking obama etc. 14 year olds that don't know shit are super-liberal are more annoying than 14 year olds that are super-conservative because they actually try to make it seem as if they're intelligent
if you've got strong political convictions, good for you. you're not going to get anything done if you're not willing to bend a little bit and actually cooperate with the other half of the country. Politics in America are starting to get to me because it's not a cooperative system, it's a competitive system. We need a fucking proportional representation system with a ton of parties if we actually want to support cooperation
[editline]05:35PM[/editline]
I mean really here, there are leftists that just go "la la la la la la la la la la la la la can't hear you bitch"
I don't focus as much on the conservative kids making assholes of themselves because they're not the ones trying to put themselves into a group with me
I don't want to be categorized with fuckwits

You're absolutely right.
also just may as well add this in here fuck the bourgeois who think that they need a six figure salary to survive
yes anyone who has any sort of political conviction is obviously just brainwashed

haha i'll admit that when i was 14 i thought that everything my parents said about politics was factual but i aint 14 anymore and i can actually develop my own well-informed opinion unlike many people
and anyone who has such a blind conviction to one political side is turning the governmental system into a competition where one side is right and the other side can shut the fuck up
where it's meant to be both parties come together and pass legislation that is good for the whole of the citizens
[editline]05:42PM[/editline]
also just may as well add this in here fuck the bourgeois who think that they need a six figure salary to survive
it's bourgeoisie i thought but there are probably two spellings
and by that you mean upper-middle class right
I hate ripping on political parties because I hate the ideas of political parties in the first place. People always seem to vote for the party and never the candidate. But I sure as fuck know that there's more than two political opinions to be held in this country.
It's too broad a category to pick on. We need to get rid of parties that way people will be forced to vote for the individual and do their fucking research. That's half of what's wrong with politics. It's supposed to be for the people, but if the people never look into the issue, it just ends up being a clusterfuck of misinformation.
Kind of off topic. But I get tired of all these "Republicans are filth" or "democrats are fags" posts. It's not looking into the issue. It's just picking a side full of people with differing opinions anyway.
And no, I'm not "conservative" or "republican".
I'm couldn't lump myself into that category if I tried.
bourgeois is the class (all of the people) bourgeoisie are the people
and yes, upper middle class
everyone wants to have more money and have more luxuries, but imo the ones who have more luxuries than anyone else and can pay a little extra in taxes that will not hurt their standard of living should
i'm not going to be all radical liberal and say that all rich people should give all their money to poor people lets all have equal money and things and be happy
im not Trotsky or Wakka
if you're not moderate enough you're not going to get shit done.
what the hell is this crap?
Ok, kids, having any strong political opinions is wrong
bourgeois is the class (all of the people) bourgeoisie are the people

thanks

having such strong political opinions that you are confrontational everytime someone with another view point tries to voice their opinion yes its wrong and ignorant
and it's not going to help anything
where it's meant to be both parties come together and pass legislation that is good for the whole of the citizens
but the republicans don't try to pass any good legislation so it's sort of a moot point
[editline]03:47PM[/editline]
having such strong political opinions that you are confrontational everytime someone with another view point tries to voice their opinion yes its wrong and ignorant
no, but being confrontational is not an inherent part of strong political views
that's a personal flaw, not a flaw with having convictions
what the hell is this crap?
Ok, kids, having any strong political opinions is wrong
I'm not saying it's wrong I'm saying that if you want to be productive you need to be moderate
my personal stance on republicans is they can all go fuck off and form a different nation so we can get the United states to progress without any interruption (prop 8 / prop 1) but if we were to just bitch back and forth like children nothing would get done
basically what's going on now and why lobbyists are pretty much what decide what legislation gets passed
no, most liberals don't really care for Nancy Pelosi
why do you people act like Pelosi is some sort of goddess to liberals? She's not
It's the long tradition of making liberal bogeymen (and women). Ted Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton, Pelosi, and now Obama are fitting these roles.
but the republicans don't try to pass any good legislation so it's sort of a moot point
no yeah totally we should just get rid of the republicans and turn the united states into a socialist country
the government should not be in total control of everything, and the government should not just say everyman for themselves
the COMBINATION of the two parties platforms are what makes the country great
no, but being confrontational is not an inherent part of strong political views

well they are either confrontational or so pig-headed and stubborn that they refuse to even give the other side a chance
either way its bad
I'm not saying it's wrong I'm saying that if you want to be productive you need to be moderate
but that's not true. Many people with radical ideologies have been massively successful in the past.
The founding fathers, for example. And The republican party when it was first formed (Lincoln's republican party, not the tyrannical medusa it is today), and MLK
but the republicans don't try to pass any good legislation so it's sort of a moot point
lol

that's a little premature and not thought out isnt it
[editline]05:55PM[/editline]
MLK
how the hell
everyone was pushing for equal rights King just was a great speaker and got to the microphone
Malcom X was the radical one and he didnt get anything done
also just may as well add this in here fuck the bourgeois who think that they need a six figure salary to survive
you're accusing extremism as unproductive, but then you say 'fuck the bourgeoisie'
not that i disagree, but i'm sure many people would consider you extremist
and Lincoln was a bloody fence-rider who stayed neutral to get elected, his personal stance was no expansion of slavery which is not radical at all
you have no idea what you are talking about
well they are either confrontational or so pig-headed and stubborn that they refuse to even give the other side a chance
no, the people you're talking about aren't people with radical opinions, they're vocal people. You've probably met all sorts of people with strong political opinions, but you never knew because they weren't vocal about it
You're like a person who thinks all gay men are annoying, flamboyant girly guys because those are the only gay people they're aware of
you're accusing extremism as unproductive, but then you say 'fuck the bourgeoisie'

no he's just being scornful
no, a lot of the nation opposed him
he was assassinated, you know
no he's just being scornful
that doesn't make it any less 'extremist'
you've met everyone with strong political opinions?

no i'm talking about people with radical opinions who are vocal, if no one vocalizes their opinions how am i supposed to comment on them because i dont know what their opinions are
you are not that great at comprehension eh?
Finally
ER charges, I say, FUCK YOU!
EDIT:
What the fuck happend to my avatar?!
Garry's havin fun idn't he?
no, a lot of the nation opposed him

a lot of the nation supported him, obv a majority because afterall they did pass the legislation he wanted
[editline]06:00PM[/editline]
that doesn't make it any less 'extremist'
How much you want to bet on another American civil war in the next 50 years.

[editline]06:01PM[/editline]
How much you want to bet on another American civil war in the next 50 years.

How much you want to bet on another American civil war in the next 50 years.
