No. but the only person I know that doesn't has some wild conspiracy theory about Notch stealing the game and claiming it as his own, among a fuck ton of other random stuff.
Well he got the idea from Infiniminer, if that's what he meant. Apparently people playing Infiniminer preferred building things with the blocks instead of doing the objective.
I liked Minecraft for about 3 weeks. After those 3 weeks, I ran out of the creative juice that fuels the gameplay experience.
Ok, so that's 7 days left for me to decide to buy the game.
Nope, looks horrible.
[editline]12th December 2010[/editline]
Plus, i won't even consider buying it unless he puts it on steam.
You're now liable for the IQ points I lost reading your post. You will be billed shortly.
To buy or not to buy, that is the question
To buy or not to buy, that is the question
The answer is [sp]buy it[/sp].
So, somebody that buys the game after the 20th of December has to pay for UPDATES?
Madness I tell ye!
Of course not.
But have you even tried it?
i have. I dug a big hole in to the ground and reached lava and couldnt get out. That was about as far as i got in the game before it got boring.
i have. I dug a big hole in to the ground and reached lava and couldnt get out. That was about as far as i got in the game before it got boring.
Wow your creative.
His creative :v:
oh fuck I'd better buy this quick
I've been building HUGE crap and bases in survival whatever it's called as of late.
Been playing since the early days where notch still regularly visited the 4/6 only servers that were online.
thing is, it gets boring. I've got so many resources I can rebuild what I have already built times two. Beta better bring something good.
“We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Does this mean there will be paid dlc in the future?
Sounds like I'm never gonna buy it after all...
Sounds like I'm never gonna buy it after all...
There will be no DLC.
I was expecting some big feature when it got into beta. Nothing like that is mentioned. I'm rather disappointed.
I can reschedule my deadline for Minecraft for Android beta testing.
Am i the only one who has absolutely no interest in minecraft?
Nope I don't like it either
I tried it to
As soon as I played creative I was hooked, I built a castle and was fucking pissed I couldn't save it. So I bought Alpha and here we are today.
what if people buy lots of accounts for 10€, then sell them for like 14€ after beta because it has free dlc?
Buh duh Meinkraft looks horrible, it's too expensive, it's not on Steam, it's so blocky and fugly.
Hop on da bandwagen. Pretty sure those who complain haven't even played it for a minute. I can understand those who have played and became bored, like me. It has potential, but it needs more content. It DOES get boring when you do the same things all over. Chop wood, make tools, mine ores, create better tools, make a home, get diamonds, build a fortress. And over and over and over. You also can use your wild imagination to build shit like never before, but you will eventually run out of ideas/get bored. SMP certainly spices things up at least.
You make it sound as if you can just build your house with diamonds within hours.
The fun part about this game is that if you get boring and if you have this full set of diamond (which you will probably never get anyway), you can move on, improve your house, make cool stuff with water and lava, make a farm etc etc. So there are lots of things you can do, you just don't realize it until you get to that part.

Oh god, I'm so dumb again.
Yeah, okay.
Am i the only one who has absolutely no interest in minecraft?
Nope, but in my case it's because I played the free version a few times to see if the game was good and I always feel dizzy and get a bit sick after a few minutes of gameplay, so literally I can't play this game. It's something strange, because I've never suffered this problem on any other 3D game.
I don't have the link, but he has a check-list of things that are being introduced in beta.
Thanks for the idea!
Notch, running your company and fix my game! Hurry up and add some free new features!
[editline]5:13PM[/editline]
But not too many, because that means you're a bad coder who doesn't take his work seriously!

He doesn't have the IQ points to give you man.

Anyway, the key to good procedrually generated content is a careful mixture of completely random, semi-random (ie wrecked versions of player buildings), and pre-generated.
You need enough pre-generated things so that it's not always the same and you're not likely to find the same thing twice, good ways of randomly modifying pre-generated content (wrecking buildings, I saw a good way of doing it once), and good ways of mixing it in.
Imagine the final Minecraft which Notch will undoubtedly make. Goblin settlements with random layouts, destroyed castles with sprawling dungeons filled with monsters and treasure, ruins around the land, dragon nests, random massive attacks which can leave your house damaged due to heightened monster abilities enabling them to get through (because once you're settled, there's no real challenge because they can't get in - thicker walls and fortifications will be rewarding now), dwarves which gradually build structures, perhaps automagically uploaded from other player's worlds?
(It would be relatively easy for an experienced programmer like Notch to do, just check for large clusters of player-placed blocks)
The fun and interest factor would increase tenfold.
We're counting on you, Notch.
Uh oh, I'm getting Minecraft for Christmas. Hopefully my sister gets it before December 20th.
Tell her to buy it now.
[editline]13th December 2010[/editline]
How do you know you're getting it for christmas anyway?

Not really. It means that if he releases a major addition to the game that was worth way too much time and effort to be released for free, he will be legally capable of charging people for it. However, he can still release everything for free if he wants to. He's just not legally obligated to do so.

There's a texture pack to remove most of the noise.
Think you'd get dizzy from this:

It's Wombo's Texture Pack, don't where where to get it exactly, but eh, it's on FP.

Curse not being able to edit posts. The Image is messing up so I can't upload and I accidently hit submit,
Anyway, found a thread on MC forums

Just bought it, its $13.76 CDN.
I have a really strange feeling that Notch is gonna go all Activision on us in one way or another
