I wouldn't be so sure about that. While there are many who would like to see America completely gone, lots of citizens (reportedly) are still scared that the Taliban could return if U.S. forces do not remain in Afghanistan until their own army is completely built up. I would have to agree with this sentiment, because it's either we wait 3 more years, or potentially waste the 10 years we've already been there.
I can see them now. Taliban knights on their magical white stallions riding across the ocean to be a threat to America. Ride on.
Goddamnit Mr. President, that was a campaign promise :I Dude promised to pull out.
Stopping war in Iraq was his promise, as stated earlier in this thread. Sneaky fucker, isn't he? [editline]12th January 2011[/editline] I do agree, as much as I hate the idea of war, they must finish otherwise it'd be a total waste. Think of it like playing chess, and losing a valuable piece only to take out something less valuable on the other side. Illogical. My arguement, which turned out to turn into a big fight, was the peculiar notion that Banks all seem to profit off war.

get the fuck out no one wants you there you're only dragging yourself into debt honestly what are you really achieving there?
i like how some people talk about politicians and government as if they're people and not heartless sociopaths with no interests other than power and dominance.
Right, because "Yeah, we'll totally win this if we stay just a few more years" totally worked for the Soviets. :colbert: We've spent more money than the entire "nation" of Afghanistan has produced in it's entire history*, it's time to cut our losses and leave them to whatever backwards tribal bullshit they want to govern themselves with. *unless you count heroin production
Does MovingSalad really think this war was for money?
Does MovingSalad really think this war was for money?
arms dealers/manufacturers make money from dealing/manufacturing arms and also have a lot of influence in the government apparently. Not to mention we started a war with a country that happens to have huge amounts of oil with a vice president with huge ties to the world's second largest oilfield services corporation. If you don't see the obvious connections then I think you're sort of hilarious.
War in Iraq over? - Check. War in Afghanistan Over? - Check. But in 2014. :v:
I lump them both into one war but really this war has lasted way to long

we're not leaving shit period because we have american embassys and permanent bases in the middle-east that exceed the size of the vatican this is all basically to horde resources, these 'terrorists' are just people that were tipped off money to fight for something they hardly believe in because they needed to feed themselves and their families. they are willing to die for 20$ over there, seriously
