Rapidshare Terminates Accounts of Illegal Downloaders, Logs IPs

Because pirates upload everything to rapidshare, and only 50% is also uploaded to other hosters.
(But don't worry, I am only downloading TV rips, so it's all legal.)
It's still a shitty service.
Why pay for a Rapidshit premium when you can get 1.5mb/s on a free service like megaupload?
I dunno, I get only 200kb on megaupload free.
Megaupload is ten times better
until they do the same thing
True, there are better because they are not as popular. We all know that less known stuff are better most of the time.
If everyone switches to a less popular sharing site, it will face the same problems as RS.
until they do the same thing
The same thing as what? The mails were fake, its not true.
The only reason I use Rapidshare and got premium with them is only because that is what the masses seem to use for uploading. Honestly, I think it is overpriced, and usually the DL speeds are way too slow.
I'll gladly pay for megaupload or even mediafire if only more people switch to using them.
I despise Rapidshare. The idea of paying to download files faster is not one I have ever entertained. These guys did have it coming eventually; but this is probably going to steer people clear from Rapidshare in the future.
Rapidshare is crap anyways, I don't see why everyone is using them as a primary filehost so much.
Are the guys over at rapidshare too stupid to see what keeps their business running?
Because that'll be enough to cover all the costs of the lawsuits against them right?
Megaupload is ten times better
isn't that most of their customer base gone then?
What disappoints me is people who refer to rapidshare as a shit stain when they've only used their free service. Rapidshare is the most popular filehost by user and cheapest per month. They are pretty decent but they do the same fucking job.

Cheapest? Cheaper than FREE?
what.
Looks like rapidshare is going to rapidly lose their share of the filehosting market.
Meh
It was a phishing scam sent to someone and torrentfreak jumped the gun and posted it without proof
Like I said before.
Why pay for a Rapidshare premium account when free services offer the same stuff?
Not all of us have money to blow away on a service that has free competitors.
One reason to get a rapidshare account and megaupload account is for downloading databases, collections and large libraries. I do this on a regular basis. You wouldn't buy an account if you can't see you're not going to use it regually and you certainly can't do without one when you are. I feel most of these discussions here are directed at who provides the most free service features. 6 Euro a month is not a lot of money for a month of file ready, unlimited downloading high speed which is a service. Wait times, capped speeds are all purposely intergrated so you can see the benefitial side of the service they provide. I do not know of such free competitor that can compete or on the same level as what a premium account can provide, sorry. That would nullify whole concept of needing one and considering if there is, it has an insufficient user base for me to bother.
I have had many file hosting accounts, both megaupload and rapidshare premium accounts included and there isn't a difference between the two, apart from rapidshare has always seemed to be the prefered leading filehosting service. The only problem i ever find that is a burden for me, is having to juggle between the two.
Megaupload is $10, Rapidshare goes by Euros but in dollars its currently $9.50 for an account so its 50 cents less and a shit ton faster than megaupload. Its no wonder Rapidshare is so popular in illegal file sharing.
rapidshare is fantastic

From United Kingdom it shows up 9.99 Euro for a megaupload premium 1 month.
Whoever downloads illegal shit on rapidshare is a moron.

Why's that? IP addresses don't mean jack shit in court. They don't prove who did the infringing.
Whoever downloads illegal shit on rapidshare is a moron.
2mb/s, faster than most torrents. Sure people are idiots.
I get 2mb/s off of rapidshare i don't see why people are hating it.
People still use Rapidshare? I stopped using them ages ago. Downloads are way too slow.
MediaFire and Megaupload are examples of good file hosting sites.
While I like mediafire and megaupload a lot, I'd just add that the 8000kb/sec I get on rapidshare is just because my line can't go higher. I don't consider 8 megabytes a sec slow.
But if you're speaking of free users then mediafire and megaupload beats rapidshare by miles.
rapidshare rules..
