You can't adjust the sensitivity, and the speed of it is a bit odd.
what do you mean you can't adjust the sensitivity? have you even played a game using one or did you miss the sensitivity bar that every single not-shit game has? and the speed of it "being odd" doesn't translate to anything even quantifiable. maybe it's because you didn't know the sensitivity was adjustable.
Uh....
fuck me ill never post again
Holy fuck. Now's my chance to prove to my friends that we are superior in terms of control. Here we fucking go.
good you're better using the mouse. that doesn't translate to anything.
Do you not get it? The mouse is just better at aiming. A controller is better at moving. Its just facts. Can you name an advantage the controller has over the mouse when it comes to aiming?
No, the way an analog stick works is like this: You can't adjust the sensitivity, and the speed of it is a bit odd. A mouse on the other hand is instant and moves as fast as you move the mouse. Do you understand now?
What recent top-tier console game have you played that didn't have sensitivity adjustment?
what do you mean you can't adjust the sensitivity? have you even played a game using one or did you miss the sensitivity bar that every single not-shit game has?
Yea but you cant change your speed at a fraction of a second like you can with a mouse by simply turning your hand faster.
Do you not get it? The mouse is just better at aiming. A controller is better at moving. Its just facts. Can you name an advantage the controller has over the mouse when it comes to aiming?
You still haven't stated why it's better for aiming, simply that it is. The idea that it "moves as fast you move your hand" is pretty much the equivalent of the console "moves as fast as you want it to" with sensitivity adjustment. I remember the first time I played MW2, I turned it up to the highest sensitivity to see how to fast I could get my crosshairs to one area, and it was just as fast as any mouse I'd ever used. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
Yea but you cant change your speed at a fraction of a second like you can with a mouse by simply turning your hand faster.
Have you seen how fast the maximum sensitivity is on most games?
Can you name an advantage the controller has over the mouse when it comes to aiming?
no there's no advantage it's the same exact thing. i'm missing the facts because they don't exist but for some weird reason people enjoy throwing around their "dominance" for the same reason people sneer at you if you don't like the same music.
what do you mean you can't adjust the sensitivity? have you even played a game using one or did you miss the sensitivity bar that every single not-shit game has? and the speed of it "being odd" doesn't translate to anything even quantifiable. maybe it's because you didn't know the sensitivity was adjustable.
Every time I see you in a thread you're arguing about everything..
Yea but you cant change your speed at a fraction of a second like you can with a mouse by simply turning your hand faster.
i don't know even know what this means yet and i'm supposedly educated. you move your hand slowly, the cursor/aim moves slowly, move it quickly it moves faster move your finger slowly, the cursor/aim moves slowly, and vice-versa. want to change speed? push the stick! it's not a difficult concept yet for some reason it's too much of a daunting task
for me if I max my sensitivity I lose all precision and I can't aim
Every time I see you in a thread you're arguing about everything..
okay? thanks for the uh, status update.
Every time I see you in a thread you're arguing about everything..
So what? [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
for me if I max my sensitivity I lose all precision and I can't aim
Then I'd say that's a matter of not being skilled with a controller, not a fault inherent to controllers.
no there's no advantage it's the same exact thing.
No they aren't. Try using a mouse to surf the internet and then try using a controller. You will notice its a lot slower and less precise. I'm not saying pc beats console but its just plain fact that you can turn faster and aim better with a mouse.
No they aren't. Try using a mouse to surf the internet and then try using a controller. You will notice its a lot slower and less precise.
It moves slower because the default sensitivity is low, if you set it higher, it's harder to control, but that's why you practice with it.
for me if I max my sensitivity I lose all precision and I can't aim
well don't put it to max then... it's a pretty simple concept. i don't know maybe i'm just blessed with the capability of understand the complexities of analogue joysticks. i think Stanford might be launching classes for it pretty soon. "oh yo guys are still using mouses? hah, well the proletarian may have their crude devices"
This is one of those arguments that no one wins, right?
Then I'd say that's a matter of not being skilled with a controller, not a fault inherent to controllers.
No it would be way harder to snipe with a controller on highest settings if your trying to get a head because you cant control how fast you turn. [editline]25th August 2011[/editline]
It moves slower because the default sensitivity is low, if you set it higher, it's harder to control, but that's why you practice with it.
But you don't have to do that with a mouse. You can have any speed you want at any time.
Try using a mouse to surf the internet and then try using a controller. You will notice its a lot slower and less precise.
yeah because i've never bloody surfed the internet with a controller big surprise that i'd be awful at it. plus i'm the "best" at surfing the internet using a touch-screen, i guess that mean a touch-screen is a better medium for games as well.
No it would be way harder to snipe with a controller on highest settings if your trying to get a head because you cant control how fast you turn.
I don't know about you, but I don't have problems with high sensitivities.
yeah because i've never bloody surfed the internet with a controller big surprise that i'd be awful at it. plus i'm the "best" at surfing the internet using a touch-screen, i guess that mean a touch-screen is a .
Its the same as playing shooters. How many times do I have to say it. With a mouse you can be as fast or as slow as you want at any time.
No it would be way harder to snipe with a controller on highest settings if your trying to get a head because you cant control how fast you turn.
yet again play Halo 3 on a high tier and you'll find no-one with trouble at aiming for people's heads. my friend is utterly insane because he was ill for the longest time and that's all he did. but people on this forum usually suck at games like that so they never come to those high tiers and because you naturally don't blame yourself for faults they blame the controller.
Its the same as playing shooters. How many times do I have to say it. With a mouse you can be as fast or as slow as you want at any time.
And with high sensitivity you can move just as fast as a mouse, how many times do I have to say it?
Thisispain is my favorite poster
I don't know about you, but I don't have problems with high sensitivities.
Yea but you can't control how slow you want your controller to be. You have to train a lot to be decent with highest settings while you don't with a mouse and even then you can't have as much speed control. I'm sorry but its considered fact between gamers that the mouse is better at shooters.
With a mouse you can be as fast or as slow as you want at any time.
yeah that's exactly the same thing you can do with an analogue stick because the method isn't even different. if you can't do it it's because you haven't practiced it and you're awful at it. stop blaming the device that just emulates analogue input and blame your fingers.
And with high sensitivity you can move just as fast as a mouse, how many times do I have to say it?
Yea and then you can't move as slow.
Thisispain is my favorite poster
i seek to entertain.
yet again play Halo 3 on a high tier and you'll find no-one with trouble at aiming for people's heads.
Well halo has aim assist. But like you said high tier and even then you still can't control your movement as much as with a mouse.
Yea and then you can't move as slow.
Well, you sorta can if you just push the analog stick ever so slightly..
