LBP
end game.
This will extend the already long online lifetime of the game on both platforms

wouldn't an in-game editor just limit things on PC's end

No I mean PS3 players would stream custom maps the same way LBP streams its own.
I doubt there would be an ingame editor for any Valve game, ever.
I remember reading how Microsoft killed a cross-platform project because even mediocre console players were stomping pro console players.

in order for a map to be stream-able, whoever wants to make custom content would be limited to the game's assets

Good thing the game's assets are customizable to all hell and back. The only things you can't change the function of are switches, but you can tie them to almost anything you could possibly create. And set up how they work as to require certain things to be done or something.
The editor is very flexible.
It's like adding difficulties to the multiplayer
Easy = against PS3 users
Medium = against Xbox users
Hard = against PC users
no offence to the console users though

Baby's first FPS mode = against mac users
Didn't Microsoft test cross platform play between PC and Xbox 360, but cut it because the 360 players were getting stomped too hard?

I know it's very flexible - I have the game
I'm talking about CSS though, and how the possibility of modding on the PS3 is unlikely

ShadowRun. The first 360 game to have a competitive cross-platform mode if I remember. It sucked shit if you were against PC players from my understanding. And is one of the leading reasons MS abandoned cross-platform (even though GFWL still supports it at the core).

Well, Ut3 somehow managed it, I can see custom maps being a possibility. but server plugins like SourceMod, which provide almost all custom gamemodes are probably a no go. Unless servers are capable of working with all platforms, which shouldn't be too hard to work out really. It's just sending stuff to the PS3 itself that would be a problem.
Spiffy. I really hope they have the portal 2 kinda deal going on. In which you buy the ps3 version and get a code for pc play. That way my friend and I can play.
My single wish for this game is high res w_models
I'm still wondering why Valve decided to go cross-platform. Keyboards and mouse > controller(assuming most PS3 players will player with a controller).
Unless I'm missing something, this is going to fail. Hard.
Valve is probably going to make this work though, hopefully.

Stomped like a cockroach at a military parade.

XBox players wont be able to take advantage of cross platform and PS3 players will actually have a change against PCs as they can use mouse and keyboards.
Finally I can get more kills than deaths
