Not really. 7,62x39 is far less powerful than most of common hunting calibers. It's generally not a good idea to hunt large things with it, better stop at feral hogs and small deer.
Like I said, "from what I understand". I don't hunt, although I would like to at some point.
Except my argument was that consumption reduced. I don't give a toss what else happened because those aren't relevant to the argument.
Then tell us what the actual fuck your argument is, because right now, it appears to be completely meaningless.
Except my argument was that consumption reduced. I don't give a toss what else happened because those aren't relevant to the argument.
They are completely relevant to the argument. If you make a shitload of people into criminals who aren't hurting anyone and only want to protect themselves, then WHY DID YOU DO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
They are completely relevant to the argument. This didn't actually happen, for consumption declined. Were his argument correct, the consumption of alcohol would remain static or grow with the prohibition in place. In russia using a firearm in self defence will result into you getting a higher punishment We don't need no gun control. We need super massive ugly laws. Best gun control ever
Except my argument was that consumption reduced. I don't give a toss what else happened because those aren't relevant to the argument.
No one gives a SHIT if consumption was reduced, they care about the CRIME CRIME is relevant to the current gun situation, not consumption

Ever heard of "bootleggers"? Speakeasies?
Noone argued that prohibiton didn't decrease comsumption, we argued that it had no relevance to guns because guns aren't consumables.
Except /he/ argued otherwise, and I was responding to /his/ argument.
Someone sent me this, and said that this is the reason America spends so long to do anything, as they use a cheap story to cover any really issue (such as, this topical reason, assault weapons) Is it really just down to Fox News though?
Except /he/ argued otherwise, and I was responding to /his/ argument.
Bullshit. You've used this exact same argument in multiple different threads. Keep moving the goalposts. The rest of us will quite happily keep pointing out how full of shit you are.
Whatever might stop people from shooting innocent kids, and adults I will support.
Whatever might stop people from shooting innocent kids, and adults I will support.
except this won't... not even might
If people were really that bothered about self defence then they oughta get off their arses and take classes.
I'm not bothered by self defense, I have a gun to defend myself and my family.
Assault weapons are not assault rifles. Assault weapons are defined for specific cosmetic/aesthetic qualities such as pistol grips, barrel shrouds, and bayonet mounts.
"Ban it because it's scary!" I hope they plan to be banning spiders, clowns, water, heights, anything that people can be afraid of as well then, otherwise this is bullshit.
Whatever might stop people from shooting innocent kids, and adults I will support.
But it won't so it is hopeless. People kill people with whatever they can. You can murder a man with your fists.
But it won't so it is hopeless. People kill people with whatever they can. You can murder a man with your fists.
which is a lot harder in all terms
In russia using a firearm in self defence will result into you getting a higher punishment We don't need no gun control. We need super massive ugly laws. Best gun control ever
Are you implying that people should be punished for defending themselves? That might fly in the UK, but I don't think many people in the US would be happy about that.
Are you implying that people should be punished for defending themselves? That might fly in the UK, but I don't think many people in the US would be happy about that.
no it totally shouldn't be solved the way it is in russia because hurting someone attacking you makes you the criminal I was just saying. Although 88 of 100 having firearms is not good.
which is a lot harder in all terms
He can still die. The murderer can decide to use a heavy object or anything else just to kill. Psychos are determined people. The solution to less violence is to educate people to not use dangerous objects for murdering or not murder people at all.

I can go crazy after I was taught to not shoot people.
if its not complete brainwashing it might not be effective. I can go crazy after I was taught to not shoot people.
Then we need a better mental healthcare system, not a ban on guns.
if its not complete brainwashing it might not be effective. I can go crazy after I was taught to not shoot people.
Then can you tell me what your solution is? If we cannot ban things or teach people to be nice so what can we do? The only other option I can think about would be to wipe out us humans forever.
Then can you tell me what your solution is? If we cannot ban things or teach people to be nice so what can we do? The only other option I can think about would be to wipe out us humans forever.
I am saying a gun is a very easy way to kill many people quickly, ideal for a mass murderer. Sure we need gun education, but I think limitation should be brought in too. I don't see a solution on determined psychoes. Such a man can build his own firearm if he wants.
Why Obama? I thought you were cool
It's like trying to find a preventive measure to suicide bombing. You just can't.

People will continue to die and we cannot do much except to escape a murderer as quickly as possible and be nice to people. "If you buy a gun for self defence you intend to kill someone." -Sobotnik, 12/17/12
because it's intended to harm others better question: why do you need it?
I have a fixed-blade with a small serrated section and a lip on the back side, it's good for hunting, skinning, and preparing meat could I stab someone with it? sure would it do any damage? a horrific amount will I? no, I'm not a psychopath, and I'd rather not be out one hunting knife because a politician groups me together with the psychopaths for the sin of owning a simple tool
How about we ban people. Its not the guns, assault weapons,(the fuck is that even?) or scary machine guns. Its us. Humanity. We are the problem, not our tools.
