And why are the legal types of knives not suitable for "cutting something"?
Why do you need a sports car when a normal car can get you from point A to point B just the same?
Why do you need an xbox 360 when an atari still plays the same kinds of games?
Why do you need pens when you can accomplish the same task by writing with pencils?
Why are you so fucking stupid when you could actually be an intelligent person?
make people who abide by gun laws pay the price for what a murderer did
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbine_High_School_massacre#Firearms
I don't see any assault weapons here except for the illegally modified shotgun.
NFA weapons were exempt from the AWB so even that wasn't an "assault weapon"
not that a break action double barrel would be an assault weapon anyway

Kinda ironic, don't ya think?
None of the things you mentioned are meant for killing.
I'm surprised (and glad) that Kopimi hasn't shown up yet.
What?
This isn't already a thing?!
Just how fucking easy is it to get a gun there?
guns purchased through an FFL are registered in your name, you can't have mental health problems, you have to have a license to carry it which has to be renewed every 4 years which requires a test and a class every time, and oh fucking look they already are regulated as cars
Sigh... this isn't going to solve anything. Someone batshit insane enough to murder innocent children is going to do it regardless of what implement is used. What really needs to be done is the installment of security at schools that's actually worth a damn and training them to deal with situations such as what occurred recently. The high school I attended had one police officer on campus. Said policeman was armed with a nightstick. No taser, no firearm. A nightstick. To protect a campus with over 2,000 students and faculty. That's going to end well. Sorry people, but in a country with a gun culture like America's, you're going to need to fight fire with fire. Paper will only burn.
Proactive measures are what we need to take, not reactive legislation that will only harm the hobbyist and recreational shooter (not to mention foreign and American businesses that manufacture these weapons) and make everyone else feel warm and snuggly at night because "they did something." Start with securing campuses. I could walk into my old high school right now and every single door would be open; every campus entrance, every service entrance, every classroom wide open. Oh, and it's covered in those warm and fuzzy gun free zone signs too. Brilliant.
If this bill does go through, does this meen the AK-47 I just bought is illegal?
If this bill does go through, does this meen the AK-47 I just bought is illegal?
You're going to jail you dirty stinking criminal scum.
If this bill does go through, does this meen the AK-47 I just bought is illegal?
Shouldn't, if you purchased it before the AWB they can't really do shit to you if I'm right. It is like being grandfathered in..
If this bill does go through, does this meen the AK-47 I just bought is illegal?
hopefully not, but there are rumors that they'll be doing away with the grandfather clause this time around
in which case they'll have to kill me before they take anything
hopefully not, but there are rumors that they'll be doing away with the grandfather clause this time around

Blaze 'o' glory!
If this bill does go through, does this meen the AK-47 I just bought is illegal?
no, usually laws like these only ban new ones, hence why people can still buy a fully automatic rifle, but is extremely expensive because the only legal ones are pre-1986 guns.

What if you live in California and you have stuff which was grandfathered the first time around. Is there a great-grandfather clause?
Shouldn't, if you purchased it before the AWB they can't really do shit to you if I'm right. It is like being grandfathered in..
They better not take my gun, spent $500 on it.

This is the ultimate burn.
You have to take this into consideration:
When was the last time you got angry/seriously depressed, and you thought "The best way to take out my frustrations would be to kill a bunch of children".
Probably never. No one in their right mind would want to do this, ever. And we'll never know what his problem really was, since both he and his mother are dead.
He also completely destroyed his computer, and investigators have said that we'll never know what he searched or who he talked to using that computer.

Heh, I've seen that before. One of my sister's friends (a marine) posted it on Facebook.

I live about 3 hours away from Pearl River and still had never heard of it until yesterday
[editline]18th December 2012[/editline]
not to mention he did it with a knife and a .30-30 marlin lever gun so there's nothing to even be regulated by an AWB
C'mon man I just fucking bought a "assault weapon".

that's because criminals don't care about firearm regulations and will go to certain lengths to achieve what they want to do
that's because criminals don't care about firearm regulations
how did what you say pertain to anything I posted
Another Knee Jerk reaction, just like the High Cap Magazine ban in Florida after a guy with one went on a shooting, as if someone can't carry two magazines instead
Hell, getting shot with a .223 is probably less lethal than a .40 or .45 hollowpoint anyway

The article says the kid decided to leave before the principal got out his gun.
All he did was capture him, not stop him.
The article says the kid decided to leave before the principal got out his gun.
and apprehended him before he went off and did who knows what with the gun and ammo he still had.
Sure he didn't snag him right from the get go but isn't that better than letting him leave?
How about tackling the real problem, mental health? Gun bans don't stop gun crimes.
Do I have to pull up those pictures of the dude's leg (Again?)
Yes, I didn't see them.
I'm feeling left out now. :c
Like there is no negative from that scenario the negative comes when you remove the principal with the gun
