What about racing cars, sparring, MMA, demolition derbys, BMX racing, or swordfighting?
Those are all dangerous activities too, should people refrain from participating in them because you say so?
You know how guns work, right? In layman's terms, you ONLY HAVE TO pull a trigger and a deadly projectile flies out. That doesn't at all trip an alarm of "wow I shouldn't have a billion of these around and play with them"?

America. You can't convince them that guns are bad

You know how swords work, right? In layman's terms, you ONLY HAVE TO swing a 1 pound blade and a dismembering sharpened object goes into motion. That doesn't at all trip an alarm of "wow I shouldn't have a billion of these around and play with them"?

ITT: made up legal distinctions between deadly objects

No, you don't have to only pull a trigger. You have to disable the safety, insert magazine/clip/whatever the fuck your gun uses, chamber the round, aim and fire. And anyways the same could be said about a bow, aim, knock arrow, pull back, let go.
You know how guns work, right? In layman's terms, you ONLY HAVE TO pull a trigger and a deadly projectile flies out.
So aim doesn't exist? How do you hunt deer if you recklessly spray with your gun.
"I have an AK47 so I can intimidate and rip through people that break into my house". That's fucking ridiculous, like this entire issue.
Allow me to re-iterate, at this point you've defeated your own argument and expressed your ignorance to the point of it being stagnant if you have any more obscenities and poorly formulated ideology, then take it elsewhere.

It does, actually. That's why I don't fling a sword around for fun

lol good one bro you sure got me. Smart-asses, thinking they're being smart
It does, actually. That's why I don't fling a sword around for fun
And that is why I don't fucking swing guns around at human beings.
It does, actually. That's why I don't fling a sword around for fun
And we don't go around shooting for no reason. This may surprise you, I know, but ranges have rules.
It does, actually. That's why I don't fling a sword around for fun
But you do own a bow and a gun
Wait maybe I'm getting sidetracked here, how are any of these fictional "assault weapons" worse that the weapons you own?
And this guy accused me of being 12, heh.
I love how this entire forum hates me because I have opinions that are different from other people's and believe that guns are dangerous, and should only ever be sold for/used for specific purposes, and that use of them outside those purposes is arbitrary and dangerous in itself. I believe that owning a cache of guns is absolutely pointless, that nobody should ever need to have that many firearms. Those that do are complete idiots who revel in the fact that they are surrounded by murder-machines, firing them at targets/cans/mice, which gets them off.

This is why we hate you. You're a complete moron, and all you do is talk out of your ass, and the moment people start to get even the tiniest bit pissed off, you go off on wild tangents and achieve nothing but more rage surrounding you.
Maybe, just maybe, if you decided to fucking read every once and a while, you'd find that we gun owners can be very accepting and quite calm. But, no, you have to wank to the thought of people getting angry at you.
Please, for the love of god, get out.
Okay, kid, let's do some math.
1254543 feet per second is equivalent to 237 MP/H.
3,396 FP/S or only 0.00056818182 MP/H.
Umm

Why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Hey guise, why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Because I feel like it. If that makes you uncomfortable, well I'm sorry.
Infact it does make me feel uncomfortable. It scares me that a nation prides itself on it's use and posession of guns
Hey guise, why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Hey guise, pay attention to me PLEAAASE

I've got an opinion that the world is flat.
DON'T DISAGREE WITH ME BECAUSE IVE GOT AN OPINION, GUYS
If you don't like people disagreeing with you, then formulate your opinions on realistic principles and facts instead of hypocrisy and ignorance, because shit knows "assault weapon" bans are not based on either of the lateral things.
all this lobbying is having a reverse effect considering more people are buying these weapons in fear of a ban
Why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Why do you need to hunt animals?
Why do you need to hunt animals?
I find hunting disgusting. You don't need to do it any more, there are supermarkets, jeez.
Hey guise, why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
Why do you need to own a bunch of pairs of underwear?
And then the thread gets derailed....
Hey guise, why do you need to own a bunch of guns?
why do you need a computer? electricity? a car? a house? clothes shoes phone pencil scissors money soap toilet paper soda cooked meat pure water the capacity to reason the language center of your brain muscles that haven't atrophied etc
I repeat, will the real slim shady please tell me why people feel the need to own a bunch of guns in the first place
The bill has nothing to do with "a bunch of."
It's just categorically banning singular firearms based on purely cosmetic features, get your crap straight or stop talking.
I love how this entire forum hates me because I have opinions that are different from other people's and believe that guns are dangerous, and should only ever be sold for/used for specific purposes, and that use of them outside those purposes is arbitrary and dangerous in itself. Please, yank your cable out of your router and throw it in a lake. You do realize you just insulted nearly every gun owner on the planet, right? If you were to buy guns simply for hunting in Ontario, you'd need at least 3, and most people would prefer to have 5-7; a shotgun for ducks, another for turkey, another for deer, and another for partridge/small game, a rifle for coyote/small game/varmints, another rifle for deer and moose, and a rifle for moose and bear. That doesn't even begin to touch on the guns one would need for competitive shooting, but wait, your ignorance to the fact that a shooting range is one of the safest places on the planet and that there has never been a fatality on a shooting range means you don't care about the guns people would need for IPSC/IDPA, cowboy action, 3-gun, service rifle, Olympic target rifle and pistol, trap, and/or skeet.
I can quite easily, and under the "specific purposes" argument, justify owning at least a dozen different firearms.
Infact it does make me feel uncomfortable. It scares me that a nation prides itself on it's use and posession of guns
Believe it or not, some Americans don't like guns, your generalizations are shockingly misinformed.
