The same thing you are, attacking people with different opinions.
No, I'm not attacking anyone who likes origin. I'm refuting arguments of people like you, who attack people with different opinions.
And the question was even about something else. You are saying we have a choice but you criticize us for choosing the option you aren't? What the fuck are you trying to do?
Wow 16 hours of whining over something insignificant, stay classy people.
Insignificant ? do you have an idea what this actually means ? EA is going to make a fucking monopoly and they own half of the market because they're a big publisher, and that's really fucking bad, soon everything will be origin-exclusive if you fucking accept this shit up your ass like that, IT IS a big deal.
Not whining, EADM/Origin is pretty easy to use, but I'd rather keep all my games on one or two download services so I don't have to spread my games across stuff.
I don't mind competition, it's their games and they can do what they want with them.
I mean really people, competition might mean Crysis isn't on steam for a while, if ever, if people really love Crysis they'll buy it on Origin.
One thing I'm sure of, however, is that the wars between companies for market share always turns out great for everyone else.
1990s console wars were fucking awesome. Maybe we'll see constantly new features out of steam, ever greater indie support than they have now, better deals all in the name of fucking with Origin.
Or who knows, maybe Origin will do well. Having two programs for game distribution isn't the end of the world, it's inconvenient, there's a difference.
There's nothing terribly compelling about Origin as it is - if there's any competition, it's greatly contrived. It stinks of Blu-Rayism.

Ahaha this is just great. So it's ok for steam to monopoly but suddenly ea wants to and it's not ok anymore? Valve has been tying their games to steam for ages, all ok. EA ties their games to their service, everyone flips a shit.
Ahaha this is just great. So it's ok for steam to monopoly but suddenly ea wants to and it's not ok anymore? Valve has been tying their games to steam for ages, all ok. EA ties their games to their service, everyone flips a shit.
Crysis 2 is made by EA now ? now that's new. The only games monopolized by valve are their own, it is bad, yes, but that's half a dozen of games made by them against half of the market that was simply published by EA, that's just atrocious... there's also the fact they actually PULLED the game out of steam, after people bought it.
There's just no excuse for supporting this, it's pure evil and will kill all the other services thanks to people like you.
I was actually considering to buy BF3 from Origin, but after this ? Fuck no.
Ahaha this is just great. So it's ok for steam to monopoly but suddenly ea wants to and it's not ok anymore? Valve has been tying their games to steam for ages, all ok. EA ties their games to their service, everyone flips a shit.
If you're reasoning entirely within the interest of the consumer, yes. Moving to Origin doesn't add anything other than another digital download system; it's safe to assume Steam as a default.
Crysis 2 is made by EA now ? now that's new.
Uh no it isn't new at all. It's made by crytek which belongs to ea. EA is the publisher, they decide where the game goes really.
IMHO Origin's days are limited. Inb4 Lulzsec.
If BF3 requires Origin to run I won't be buying it, but if it's origin exclusive for Digital Download I'll just get it on disc. Fuck that shit.
Uh no it isn't new at all. It's made by crytek which belongs to ea. EA is the publisher, they decide where the game goes really.
And how is that ok ? EA publishes everything, from retail and now to digital, including Valve games, what's next ? they're going to open an EAStop and finally claim the market as their own ? How isn't that bad ?

Is this like GTA IV again? Steam + GFWL + Social Club?
I want Steam and only steam to play my shit, fuck off EA!
While they publish valve games in retail, they do not own valve.
God... that's not the fucking point, they already own everything, and now they'll completely monopolize the market, there's no competition there, just a big fucking stomp on every single online distribution service, if you think steam is bad this will be pure evil.
Also EA doesn't even own Crytek, source on that one please ? Same thing with DICE, and as far as i know every EA studio has "EA" on it's name.
Edit: Yeah, EA DOES NOT own Crytek, they are publishing partners for the Crysis series.

Not sure about crytek, but dice is owned by ea. EA even pumped the money into dice to develop mirror's edge

Also ea can't just pull games they do not own. Because they do own crysis 2

Crytek is not owned by EA, just looked, and DICE was bought in 2006.
Point is, EA lives off buying and sucking small studios, by supporting Origin you'll be supporting the death of developers and consequently, Hitler.
[editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
And now the death of digital distribution too!

Until EA starts killing jews, I'm kinda ok with this. As long as the games they make are good, I don't see a problem.

Remember how the earlier Battlefields had no exclusive content and the price was still $50 ?
Yeah...

So now bf has exclusive content and is still 50$?
So now bf has exclusive content and is still 50$?
Not for me, I'm actually forced to buy it for $20 more on Origin, not just 10 bucks.

No, but if they own the distribution rights to the product the developer has little they can do.
No, but if they own the distribution rights to the product the developer has little they can do.
That's because developer has already been paid. Distribution rights cost, and a lot.

No this is insignificant EA aren't creating a monopoly for the simple fact they can't if anything it may possibly create a duopoly or simply make the market more competitive considering that Steam near enough has total market dominance.

Competing generally involves competing, to be honest. This is just being petty.

How are they meant to compete with a rival service when that rival service sells their product oh enlightened one? Pulling Crysis 2 allows them to sell the game for themselves, if they want people to buy it, they have to start offering it at a decent price to draw people away from other games valve might have on sale right now. Having it up on both services might gain more sales, but they lose a chunk of that in royalties to Valve.

By lowering the price ? offering better services ? what happened to that ? Pulling the game out is just unfair competition.
By lowering the price ? offering better services ? what happened to that ?
So by lowering their price, whilst having their product sold by a rival, will allow them to be more competitive? You clearly have no idea what you're talking about especially with your monopoly comments.
By lowering the price ? offering better services ? what happened to that ?
They can't compete when your rival sells your games and their games and yet you can't sell their games.

Uh
They do, don't forget EA sells everything.
