If you are hating on origin without even trying it, shame on you. By doing that you're only ruining steam community's images by showing it's filled with immature idiots [editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
It's going to hurt Dice's support for the PCs. They'll expect to make a lot of money through Origin just because Battlefield 3 is on it, but they seem to ignore the fact that a large number of the PC community supports Steam, and nothing else.
The large number of idiots supporting steam and nothing else can enjoy no game while I kill some russians in the multiplayer.
EA removed the 2 year expiration from their EADM I think, I can't find anything about it in the ToS any more, and if they want to compete with Steam they would have too. Boy you lot sure love your biased exaggerations don't you?
It's still there, sort of.
The products and services that we make available on the Websites may be downloaded or accessed for at least one year after you have completed your purchase.
http://tos.ea.com/legalapp/termsofsale/US/enl/PC/ Basically they can decide to not let you download it whenever they want, as long as it's been a year. That doesn't sit right with me.

Every digital distributor has one. None of them enact them any more unless something serious goes down.
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/06/15/crysis-2-ditching-steam-not-an-ea-decision-origin-exclusive-tit/ It was Cryteks doing on why Crysis 2 is no longer on steam. All you morons bitching are stupid anyway.
I dont care if any EA games are on Origin, I will download it if necessary and will not complain I'm not gonna NOT play a game just because of the way it's obtained.
If Battlefield 3 jumped off a bridge would you jump off that same bridge to obtain it?
If Battlefield 3 jumped off a bridge would you jump off to obtain it?
Way to make a completely broken analogy that doesn't work in any way.
To the thing that was posted about other downloadable locations violating Steam's terms for publishers, that's complete horse shit. There are plenty of games on Steam's store that are available at other download places. EA is just using that as an excuse so they don't have to say "Yeah no we're pulling out stuff down to compete with Steam." Of course I wouldn't be surprised if Valve was actually kicking EA out of Steam FOR Origin. But I am pissed off that ME3 won't be on steam
That's tripe and you know it http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433987 Alice: The Madness Returns also had it's store page removed from Steam.
I have my own ideas but as with everyone else here, they are merely ideas. But the facts, as they are presented right now from just one side of the story, have EA claiming it is Valve's choice to do this. With Valve keeping quiet about this, there's absolutely nothing that can be said that wouldn't be merely an opinion.
Still gonna buy Battlefield 3 reguardless
ME3 won't be on steam? Well, I guess I'm not going to be seeing that sequel.
ME3 won't be on steam? Well, I guess I'm not going to be seeing that sequel.
Your loss. So, who's looking forward to enjoying some games because we aren't being pretentious children? I know I am!
ME3 won't be on steam? Well, I guess I'm not going to be seeing that sequel.
People like you are fucking stupid!!!!!! Just go buy the fucking game at the store if your so fucking worried about fucking EADM!
People like you are fucking stupid!!!!!! Just go buy the fucking game at the store if your so fucking worried about fucking EADM!
People are hilarious, they see "origin exclusive" and don't bother to read that it says that it's the DIGITAL exclusive, nothing said about retail.
People are hilarious, they see "origin exclusive" and don't bother to read that it says that it's the DIGITAL exclusive, nothing said about retail.
To all morons who are bitching about nothing, or do not know how to read.... I wouldn't mind Origin at all if I could put my 2142 / BF2 key on there. However it recognises neither of them which means I have no use for it at all. It would possibly encourage me to use it for BF3 (in the event it's not on steam) if I could do this. I might contact their support and see what they say. [editline]15th June 2011[/editline] And it seems their live support is broke. Just great!
Origin. Pando Media Booster, only from guys with more money Fuck that
Just looked at Origin, Jesus their prices are atrocious. The only competitive price is Mass Effect 2 digital deluxe. [editline]16th June 2011[/editline] And no not Warhammer online, I can get boxed copies for 50 cents
Got on EA Live support last night. It took an hour and a half to resolve my issue (which included me having to go back to the chat). If you want a decent read - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5512246/livesup.txt
For a game like Battlefield 3, I'd rather have the physical copy. Certain game, I feel, should be bought retail so you get the entire great (hopefully) package. Also glad I bought Crysis 2 when I did
I don't get it, what's so different about Crysis 2, as a game, when you buy it from somewhere other than Steam?
I don't get it, what's so different about Crysis 2, as a game, when you buy it from somewhere other than Steam?
no difference people are just pissed they can't have it on gaben's glorious motherland Steam service.
I don't get it, what's so different about Crysis 2, as a game, when you buy it from somewhere other than Steam?
People are so used to steam they simply refuse with great force to use anything else.
"No EA games will be avaiable in Steam in the future." Really? (Not my screenshot)
you know you can just get in your car drive down to your local store that sells games and pick up the game there I know it sounds crazy, but people actually used to do it years ago
Good I fucking hate steam.
Good I fucking hate steam.
Better not say that round these parts.
Valve finally enacts "No hats, no service"
