why do i need to run 2 unoptimized services to play my game comfortably?
why cant i just play it on steam like normal?
:sigh: Once you install a game with EA's downloader thingy, you can uninstall it like i did. I used that Origin thing to install a game. And once i finished i uninstalled it. The game runs fine.
Can't we just buy BF3 retail?
So if they are pulling their games it just means I won't be getting them in the christmas sales unless they do their own equally good one which I doubt congratulations on getting me to give you less money once again ea
EA is just acting dumb by removing Crysis 2 from Steam. They get money both ways, now they are probably gonna get less money.
i dont want to run 2 services just to play one game
why exactly should i have to use EA's service?
you don't have to run origin to play the game you stupid fuck
Can't we just buy BF3 retail?
I think you can. Unless EA does BF3 as a WHOLE ORIGIN EXCLUSIVE.
Kopimi obviously your getting mad over nothing. Click Library in steam and click ADD A NON STEAM GAME.
Its the same thing as having a Steam game.
I'm 100% sure it won't be that easy. They could force the game to run only through Origin. EA are dicks, they'll surely do that.
can steam and origin users still join the same servers?
No it's going to use some magical bullshit to somehow divert steam and origin users away from each other
If Mass Effect 3 isn't on Steam I'm gonna be pissed.
if you want to let EA push you around, go ahead and buy it
hahahaha
I'm not letting EA "push me around". I just want to play BF3 and don't give a shit whether its on steam of origin or retail. It doesn't make a difference to me, and it shouldn't to anyone because it's a pretty insignificant problem.
and you'd end up supporting them more than you would if you bought it from ea origins
Supporting who, the store? Because the store buys in bulk for cheap and then sells for expensive.

Well i can't say i disagree with you. Sounds like something EA would do.
Just when they're having such a good line-up this year they pull shit like this :suicide:
Sadly the chance is pretty high that they'll do the same to ME3, BF3, and NFS: The Run.
ITT monopoly supporters.
It's bad for the industry even if valve isn't taking advantage of it.

Lets not get Optimistic right off the bat. Sure they can do that, but it will affect sales.

Especially now that they seem so desperate to get a foothold in all this digital distributor industry.
Uh guys. I don't see the point. You're all acting exactly as how people acting how steam came out. At least EA is covering EADM's tracks and trying to start over. I'd at least give it a trial and see how it turns out before being all like "waaah I don't want to download extra crap to play games" even though you already did it with steam and you aren't even bothering.
I'm still getting Battlefield 3. Why? Because Origin isn't going to change my gameplay experience at all. Their servers are crap, but we've had to use them since Battlefield 1942.
the point is not wanting to have two game distribution clients at the same time
ITT monopoly supporters.

its not bad for the industry simply because, as you said, they are not abusing the customers
its not a terrible thing for there to be a monopoly on some kinds of software
would you want to have a separate distrobution/community client for every game you have of different publishers?
Especially now that they seem so desperate to get a foothold in all this digital distributor industry.
They do have the rights to make a Digital Distributor. But i know Origin will hurt EA in some way.
The fact that Battlefield 3 isn't on the Steam Coming Soon list worries me.
if steam fails, then maybe valve will start making games instead of hats :buddy:
Yor sir, make my brain numb.
I can totally see ONLY FOR EA's ORIGIN on the Retail box.
Origin takes up twice as much memory as Steam.
Oh and it takes 20 seconds to open anything.
the point is not wanting to have two game distribution clients at the same time
You don't have to. Launch Steam for your steam games, Origin for your EA games. That isn't hard. You can even talk to your steam friends in origin games using the steam overlay if you want, you're not forced to run Steam and Origin.
oh and you don't have to run it
The fact that Battlefield 3 isn't on the Steam Coming Soon list worries me.
EA usually put their games up for preorder on steam a month or two before actual release to garner more sales from the EA Store.
So why did they have to ruin Origin's name with this trash again
Couldn't they have just left it peacefully dead after they murdered it
fuck EA
the point is not wanting to have two game distribution clients at the same time
my point is, it's a small price to pay to play some of the greatest games this year (BF3, ME3 etc)
not saying I wouldn't LIKE it on steam, but it's not like they don't have the right to distribute it as they wish. I don't feel its anything more than a slight inconvenience.
Origin is the same thing as EADM. Calm down.
oh and you don't have to run it
True. But most of the Steam games require Steam to be running. I bet EA will do it to BF3. But im still not sure.

But my steam account already has EA games. We have a problem here, the organisation goes out of the window.
good thing im not buying bf3 digitally, i buy any games im exicited as FUCK for for ex BF3 as hard copies :)
