It is a lot of effort to type in a username and password, then one day wake up with our credit cards stolen because EA fucked up their Origin security, or one day we wake up and have to log on to 13 different distribution programs because every publisher wants full profits for their games.
If steam fucked up their security and Origin didn't I bet you'd still be on your bandwagon
EA needs to stop being such a cry baby and grow up.

Oh and don't forget after Origins becomes successful EA will no longer need sales on their games.
um
you do realize that they aren't legally allowed to store credit card details, right?
i'm not even sure how you use the internet with that stupid level of paranoia and laziness
EA needs to stop being such a cry baby and grow up.
If you all can't do the same why should they
Thats a DUMB reason to not buy a game. "Not on Steam? LOL NOT GONNA BUY IT"
What would you do if Steam NEVER existed?
I did the same thing but only because it was easily accessible. I didn't really want to go through the buying process for a game I didn't really want but Steam had an offer on and it only took a minute to put my card details in and I was away. It's the casual price reductions and ease of purchase that made me buy it. Yes this is possible with Origin but it's far more likely to happen on Steam because of it's large, well established user base. EA are missing out
How is it any less accessible, if you buy it on steam YOU NEED THE STEAM CLIENT RUNNING, if you buy it on origin you need to run shit all morons
EA needs to stop being such a cry baby and grow up.
So do the people complaining about something so stupid.
Nice arguments you got there, it'd be a pity if they stopped, i'd have put all this popcorn to waste
FP can and will complain about anything.
I'll stick to one digital distributor, and that it Steam, thank you very much you.
Because people like to bitch about everything. I couldn't care less on which digital distribution platform a game was sold on. I mean what the heck, I give a company money and the company gives me the game.
The End.
After all, it's the game I am after. Not the comfort to launch the game faster or having it easier accessible.
A genuine reasonable post and yet it is rated dumb. Pitiful.
EA is like a box of chocolate, you never know how many shitty ones are in it
EA is like a box of chocolate, you never know how many shitty ones are in it
Much like this thread huh
I remembering hearing on this forum that EA Downloader (Origins) doesn't let you download the game that you bought after an X amount of years. [sp]I think it was 2[/sp]
I guess that's a good enough reason. Not to mention EA is greedy and they will screw me over someway or another.
How is it any less accessible, if you buy it on steam YOU NEED THE STEAM CLIENT RUNNING, if you buy it on origin you need to run shit all morons
So to buy something on Origin, Origin doesn't have to be running.
Origin might not be less accessible to the individual but to the mass market it is. More people use Steam thus more people can purchase the game from it.
I just don't get why the method of distribution is enough stop you from buying an amazing game (like bf3)
So much drama over something so trivial
A genuine reasonable post and yet it is rated dumb. Pitiful.
It's FP, what are you gonna do. Really i don't care where i get my games. Hell i got Portal 2 from Target and i didn't give a shit.

This is really lazy, it's like only buying from one game shop and not buying from a smaller one next door
Can someone give me one good reason why not having a game on steam but available elsewhere is such a big deal
Well I was complaining because EADM had that dumb 1 year download bullshit. To be honest I haven't looked into Origin yet to see if they've retained that policy.
And for convenience sake I never really check EA's site to see sales.
Well I was complaining because EADM had that dumb 1 year download bullshit. To be honest I haven't looked into Origin yet to see if they've retained that policy.
I'm pretty sure they got rid of that ages ago after mass complaints

They haven't retained that policy
Okay what exactly is origin, is it like steam where you need to play through it or is it like EADM where it just downloads and you don't need to play through a separate program?
Okay what exactly is origin, is it like steam where you need to play through it or is it like EADM where it just downloads and you don't need to play through a separate program?
It's just the EA store, you don't even need to run anything to play the games
This is really lazy, it's like only buying from one game shop and not buying from a smaller one next door
No.
To the individual (our personal point of view as consumers, the point of view I'm not talking about), both services are equally accessible.
To the market as a whole (how companies (publishers etc) see the situation), Steam is more accessible because there are more people who use it regularly.

Who gives a shit I'm not a company on legs
Here's where I stand. If the Crysis 2 I currently have on my Steam list suddenly becomes unable to install, I'll be taking legal action.
I'm sick of it.
There's nothing in the SSA about a developer suddenly removing it from the store for their own greedy reasons, so they're infringing my rights and breaking the law.
Just so you know EA.
yeah but Steam won't be getting a cut of the purchase and EA isn't exactly an unknown company so i'm sure they'll more than make up for the loss

i'm sure EA reads this forum

I'm just making the point that it doesn't quite make sense from EA's point of view especially when they were touting BF3 as COD's biggest competitor with high hopes for it's performance.
Is EA's main incentive for doing this just to get more profits and not give any to Steam?
I didn't think EA could get any stupider, what could they possibly gain from removing a game from Steam?
Steam has millions of users, potential buyers of your product, and you remove said product so you can put it on some crappy reskin of EADM, this makes absolutely no sense to me.
It's like if you put TV commercials for a product on every TV in America, but than you get enough money together to open your own TV station in a third world country, so you rip the commercials off air in America even though you didn't have to, just so you can put them on your brand new TV channel watched by five people. [/longwindedspeech]
Who gives a fucking shit. Im still gonna buy BF3 from EA's Origin, uninstall Origin, and add BF3 to my games list in Steam. Easy as that.
Im so sorry Gia, i guess my opinion is dumb.
