pre-orders have never been cheaper on steam
It seems like most games give you like $5 off if you preorder on Steam.
Actually it's very good, you haven't even used it have you? Games are pretty cheap, download infinitely faster than Steam, and do not require Origin to run.
Really? 6GB+ games on Steam download in under half an hour for me
Offline mode /end
Permanent offline mode and no client /shut up
kondor: king of this thread and also king of common sense
Origin requires NO client, steam requires you to have an internet connection to log in and play games, if your friends don't play the game then why are you complaining about them not using it, pre-orders have never been cheaper on steam
That's not actually true, I use steam offline on my laptop all the time. Also what was that about my friends not playing the game? I don't remember talking about any specific games that my friends may or may not play. And I rarely pre-order things, I'm the type of guy who waits for huge sales and buys all the mega-packs.
Offline mode /end
Wouldn't that like not allow you to play multiplayer games and chat with friends and download patches?
Or use the majority of steam's functionality in general.?
Wouldn't that like not allow you to play multiplayer games and chat with friends and download patches?
But it doesn't matter because you'd be offline anyway.
Silly EA, we should have saw this move coming. Just when I thought EA was done pulling this crap, I was wrong. They released C2 on all platforms (including digital distribution) so they could maximize their profit and now that they have our money they can pull it from Steam (and probably other digital dist. soon) and call it an exclusive. It's just to get their foot in the door with competing with digital dist. EA holds many popular titles so they can take all the successes the games have created and put it into Origin, hopefully making Origin big enough to compete with Steam and D2D etc.
Looks like I won't be buying this anymore.

If they don't play any specific games then that's why they don't use it oh my god get it in your head

one less retard in BF3 then
If they don't play any specific games then that's why they don't use it oh my god get it in your head
Can you please rephrase what you're actually saying. From what you've said so far I think you're trying to say that the fact that my friends don't play 'the game' [BF3? But they will play], then I shouldn't complain that they don't use it? That really doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.
Okay screw standard game distribution service, it is not going to work with greedy companies around.
I just want to pay money and play game that's it.
Offline mode /end
the offline mode for steam is pretty broken right now.
no idea why they still haven't fixed it.
Okay screw standard game distribution service, it is not going to work with greedy companies around.

well then i have good news for you
download origin ->down load BF3->delete origin->play game
or
go to store->buy game->go home->play game
Then googling for a few minutes every patch that comes out, or unknowngly launching the game and discovering there's a new patch out when you want to play, having to quit and find the download, oh man it's a 500MB patch, looks like you'll be waiting ~10 minutes, oh the game no longer sounds fun. You have 55 games on Steam, I have 250. There's also the benefit of every single game on Steam being portable, useable on partitions other than the System default, having Steam integration by default (This is BF3, mind you, it will have punk-buster that probably won't let you play with the steam overlay if it's not on Steam).
I also switch systems a lot, I've built three PCs since this December, having all my games on Steam makes it way easier to play them all whenever I want to. Retail might work fine for you, but imagine having to reinstall 250 games from retail, it's not fun, even on Steam it takes a long time. From now on, though, I will be keeping the HDD with all my steam games on it.
Also: this is my system tray:

I don't want to have another crappy thing there for a single game.
Who cares about all your shit. Also you have DAEMON Tools and Utorrent
EA pulling games off networks and having money problems since 1982
one less retard in BF3 then
Because owning Crysis 2 dictates whether I play BF3 or not? Or that I'm retarded?
Who cares about all your shit. Also you have DAEMON Tools and Utorrent
and?
and?
are those for your linux distros
How to argue the Kondor way:
Take a quote such as this:
Okay screw standard game distribution service, it is not going to work with greedy companies around.
I just want to pay money and play game that's it.
and over simplify it to something like this:
"I'm not going to support the industry because I won't stand to click more than 3 times to download games. "
Now, take that and morph it into some incomprehensible hyperbole.
Like this:
"Oh no, I need to click more than 3 times to download something. EA sucks."
And dispense argument as such:
Okay screw standard game distribution service, it is not going to work with greedy companies around.
I just want to pay money and play game that's it.
Oh no, I need to click more than 3 times to download something. EA sucks.
Tah Dah!
and?
Why do you have them? If there is no point, then uninstall them. That way you can install Origin for a brief moment JUST to download BF3.

good thing windows allows you to do this

Well shit. Seems like BF3 won't come to Steam after all.
Well fuck you EA.
EA forums
They probably did run out of CD keys, makes no sense to remove it from steam just like that. I know it happened to Prey, you can't buy it on steam anymore because the CD keys ran out and Steam didn't get any more.
hmm?
good thing windows allows you to do this

How dare you know how to use your computer!
Well shit. Seems like BF3 won't come to Steam after all.

"Oh no, Im not gonna get a game on Steam. Well fuck you EA!"
First EA never confirmed it. Second just go retail if your gonna whine over a small thing.

I'm not getting the possibility of getting the game on Steam. I usually buy it from where it's cheapest. That's why I also use GoG, Gamersgate, Games for Windows Live and even the EA store itself.
I'm just saying it'll be a dick move of EA if it ain't gonna be even able to get on Steam. So if it isn't there the day before the game launches I don't know what I'll do, I'll leave that to then.
Also why would I go retail? Digital is way better except for not having a cover to masturbate to.
