I'll rest in dirt instead
He is a okay comedian.
He's a superior comedian!
Heh he was on Jimmy Fallon talking about how he donated to charities and Fallon asked him which ones he donated too.
"Women get raped and I give them money"
I was kind of under the assumption that Louis C.K. was already a millionaire.
Probably, considering he's a noted comedian with multiple specials and a show that's completed it's second season.
He's right. For example, I love Valve, there isn't a game developer I respect more than them, and I've never pirated a single Valve game, ever. DRM is bullshit and unnecessary, people need to learn to make a product people will buy instead of stealing.

Honestly, pirating a game with insane DRM so you get no restrictions makes sense, but pirating a Valve game is retarded, it's very good quality, especially for it's price.
I got the orange box at best buy for about 30$ for 5 games, for the xbox 360. Considering this, it's a steal.
Man the quality of that youtube video sure is crappy.
Yeah I'm glad I bought it I'm 30 minutes in and it's piss good

It's so good I kissed a guy's asshole and his asshole exploded
I'll definitely buy it, it was a great idea on his part. On another note I wouldn't keep the money in the Paypal account for very long. Paypal has a history of shutting down/freezing accounts and not giving back the money inside them.
I lost my password and they sent me an email calling me a moron.

Why can't all stores be like this
Imagine how good you'd feel if you woke up, checked your paypal to see that ammount. "Yep, another $60,000, goin back to bed."

I'd probably have a heart attack, then dickwave in front of my friends/steam friends/family.
While this is awesome, what people don't realize is that a large part of why this worked was because it was a because of famous guy doing a publicity stunt. It's just in this case, the publicity stunt was against DRM and middlemen, instead of something else.
If you were joe schmoe or company/publisher XYZ and tried to do the same thing, you wouldn't see nearly the same results that he did. And the piracy results would still probably be at "uncomfortable levels" if you are a publisher/producer concerned with that sort of thing.
Don't get me wrong I hate DRM and I wish people would just stop trying to force stuff like that on legit customers, but you're kidding yourself if you think this is proof that such a thing would always work in the way that it did here.

Well Witcher 2 was sold without DRM and I didn't bother pirating it. As I later found out my computer can't really take it but that's not the point.

That is true, but realize other DRM experiments have gone well too. Yes some have also gone bad, but often times when a company brags about DRM free stuff, it sells well.

Such as the humble bundle #1, where a shitton of the total downloads were piracy.
I bought this immediately after he told reddit that he believed in god and all the children collectively shat themselves and disowned their hero

Link? Or very good article or source covering it with quotes or screenshots?
It's awesome that he seems to be thinking of his employees and assistants first.
I hope he isn't stuck with a $500 a month Paypal withdrawal limit...
Actually, no he didn't. Because he's awesome.
yeah i read that after i posted my comment
not sure why everyone was so offended by it though, wasn't trying to say anything bad about Louis
I never liked him as a comedian, but as a person I'm okay with this.
No fucking way. My favorite comedian who i thought to be a genius, proves once again that he is a fucking genius.
That was well worth the five bucks. He needs to do this more often.

Go to the IamA subreddit and search for Louis CK, the comment where he mentioned god will either be near the top or near the bottom depending on how things went
You just have to make the product easier to buy than to pirate.

You got it wrong, you just have to make it easier to use legitimately than it is to use a cracked version.
