Is this before or after the Sony investment?
Sony tried to give money to them but Sean said back in 2015 to Gamespot he turned them down.
Also in the interview, Murray reveals that Hello Games was approached by a number of companies--including publishing partner Sony--who offered up extra funding to expand the scope of the game. But Murray has turned down every request--and he explained why. "A lot of other companies would have taken the interest, taken loads of investment, grown the team massively and so on," Murray said. "And of course, we did talk about things like that. But it felt like it wouldn't work. We had an idea for a game and we may never be able to deliver on the hype. But we can deliver the game we set out to make. That has to be enough."
I think even the head of Sony Gaming said they even tried talking to Hello Games about securing a buyout and Sean turned that deal down as well.
not for 60$
Yeah should've added the price point is a bit steep for what it offers too. [editline]28th October 2016[/editline]
actually several features left out of release did exist, according to a build that was shown off four months before release. there are a lot of videos on this. people are still baffled by it.
Deadlines suck, probably got hit by them. We can't continue this, let's continue after launch to develop or just.. Fuck it, let's release it without said features. We're hitting release date soon, guys. Just get it through.
http://www.polygon.com/2016/10/28/13453440/no-man-sky-creator-game-was-a-mistake? Wow.
holy shit
arent their offices also abandoned, supposedly? did they just take the money and run?
Goodbye Games
A direct result of the aforementioned overhype.
but the 60$ price was put in a while ago, by the creator himself, after lying completely about many things not even put into the game, or falsifying footage to show it. No, this isn't the fault of the 'community overhyping' this is the fault of the creator overhyping his OWN product to get more money out of people.

Welp, that's an interesting first tweet after 2 months. At least I'm glad it isn't actually Sean who posted that. Though Mr Robot is pretty rad.
Sony tried to give money to them but Sean said back in 2015 to Gamespot he turned them down. I think even the head of Sony Gaming said they even tried talking to Hello Games about securing a buyout and Sean turned that deal down as well.
Oh ffs he could have - and should have - allowed for a publisher to pay to expand the team and actually make the game fantastic, securing profits - of which he would have gotten either way, as we've seen - and a solid reputation. Instead he tried to look like the, "cool stickittotheman indie dev," and now he looks like a piece of shit. *This is all assuming that he really went in to this project/saw the project through wanting to make a great game and not just trying to scam people. I honestly don't know which I believe.
I really feel like they got in over their heads when Sony came into the picture. If they'd been left alone to develop the game (provided they'd had the initial capital to support it), it would likely have been an entirely different story.
if sony hadnt been such a springboard they would have probably launched into early access which for what its worth NMS has a lot going for it as early access
It being hacked makes more sense than anything else
I really feel like they got in over their heads when Sony came into the picture. If they'd been left alone to develop the game (provided they'd had the initial capital to support it), it would likely have been an entirely different story.
From what it sounds like Sony and others tried to save them from going down this path but Sean and company were too headstrong about it. What really fucked them was when they lost everything when the entire office flooded.
How was the server even hacked? Are they saying there is a conspiracy where the entire linkedin/twitter server was compromised? That tweet makes 0 sense.
I hope everything works out for Hello Games.
is wikileaks is about to release sean murray emails? 🤔
Sean Murray got set up to take the blame for Sony, in one of the interviews where people claim he was lying if you look closely you can even see the laser pointer from one of Sony's snipers
If I wasn't confused before I am now
Nevermind just the hacker continuing.
Someone hacked into seans linkedIn account. [editline]28th October 2016[/editline] "hacked"
Huh, got them to say more in the last few days than they have in months.
Huh, got them to say more in the last few days than they have in months.
I mean... that bar is as low as one tweet
Welp, nevermind still hacked.
Someone hacked into seans linkedIn account. [editline]28th October 2016[/editline] "hacked"
Didn't that site get all its data leaked recently? In any case, it seems strange to me that they'd get access to the email account from there.

Well, if this isn't evidence enough that the team should break their silence, I don't know what is. We all know that Sean is just going to go silent again after this all boils over though. Also, though I sort of appreciate Sean's light sense of humor regarding this, with so many people disappointed by his game, I would think he should at least try to be serious.
To be honest I hope this hack stops, it's making Hello Games look even worse even if it is just a hacker having fun. Poor Hello Games.
To be honest I hope this hack stops, it's making Hello Games look even worse even if it is just a hacker having fun. Poor Hello Games.
I cant tell if you're serious or not. People have already lost respect because of their 2 month silence. The subreddit gave up a week ago. The way sean murry has handled this on his twitter isn't helping.
There's still hope for updates guys. Big carrier ships hype!
