here we go again, not this shit
The Syrian government has urged Morsi to realise his people's wishes and step down...
Uh no. A parliamentary democracy just means that people vote on parties instead of actual representatives. And it still has a prime minister.
No it doesn't, do you even understand what you are talking about.

Oh! Well he sure kept that one quiet.
Morsi supported the rebels, like turkey did. So assad's just being a troll and saying to morsi what he said to ergodan.
Middle Eastern leaders are the biggest hypocrites around when it comes to talking about their own people.
So then what? Peace through tyranny or some non sense? No government like that has ever worked ever.
If people vote for a party that bases itself on the sacrifice of kittens, and that party wins the majority, that means the majority wanted that party to win. If the majority vote for in Islamist politicians, then that means they wanted Islamist politicians.
Equal votes work if everyone thinks independently. Many people are biased towards their group though.
That's why the US considers where under-privileged groups live when drawing district lines, and why they have different seats-per-state in the Senate and House.
Shit is hitting the fan right now on the BBC stream, tons of gunfire and reports of people being shot.

It just went dead and switched to a prerecorded video

Never mind what I said the BBC just reaired some old footage without the prerecorded watermark

No matter what happens, I think Egypt just did a 180 in progressing toward a better future for itself. Even if "the better side", whomever that may be, gets/stays into power, the whole incident is an ugly scar on the country.

That 180 turn probably happened in December when Morsi decided to give his government unchallenged power, what's happening right now seems to be getting onto a better track.

Let's just hope the Egyptians don't get dizzy from all the spinning.
Anyone wanna tell me how Morsi managed to fuck up so catastrophically? I haven't been following this.
Well the military is power hungry and a new government can't address the needs of its citizens so quickly. It needs time to settle and get everything organized.
So North Korea is an unacceptable government to the global community only because it wasn't democratically elected?
I think it more has to do with their massive human rights abuses and other small stuff like that, you know?
Army are making a TV statement right now, quick link to BBC News if you're in the UK http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/

massive human rights abuses like an islamist party would be capable of
oh but what am I saying
as long as it's ~democratically elected~ everything is a-ok

In all honesty I'd say Iran is the shining beacon of human rights compared to the DPRK.
I know I'm joking in light of the situation, but I can see the daily show connect what happened yesterday and this morning.
