seeing the current state of american politics have made me appreciate our politics a lot more
Baby boomers are dying off, they're a massive chunk of the GOP voter base. This is just a gambit for them to spawn more uneducated Americans willing to vote for them.
I can see how state level can be better in some ways. Don't like one state? Move to another. Except when you take into account that moving states is fucking insanely expensive and also might not work out and also that certain states want to literally make bible study a required course So I mean, its better, right? [editline]7th February 2017[/editline] :v:
This is the supposed bed rock of GOP philosophy. Use free market and competition to weed out bad schools. [editline]9th February 2017[/editline]
interestingly, this could lead to a potential future where state cultures are so massivley different that there would be way less interstate culture overall and the us would fracture to the point states make so many of their own descisions while the federal government does so little that it'd be a similar system to what we had in the very very early days of the USA
When you make a good point, you are very dead on. Once again it gets back to free choice. Local place shitty to LBQT? Vote with feet. The Founders despised centralized authority.

Moving has a cost that not everybody can afford (especially in a country with high inequality like the US). Also I don't get why Americans keep referring to the founders to back their arguments. Just because they founded the country doesn't mean all their ideas were good. You don't see me bring up Robespierre whenever I make a point about politics.
Make the Confederate States of America Great Again
tbh Federal Republic of New England sounds pretty good.

The intent was to keep power decentralized to prevent tyranny and that an intent I agree with.

It doesn't bring anything to the table. If you had said you believe decentralization is necessary to prevent abuse of power that would have been more of an argument, bringing up the founders achieves nothing.

[editline]10th February 2017[/editline] I mean id call myself a blue blooded son of liberty myself, but again that's just kinda the culture up here. We're patriotic but in a low key way Also I'm going to premetively say don't make fucking Patriots jokes :v:
