Is fucking hilarious and you know it.

Ignoring the first two generations, I find the villainous team plots to be pretty entertaining. In Black/White it's actually really good, and for once, there are characters you can legitimately give a shit about!
Team Magma and Team Aqua from the Hoenn games were my favorite teams, because they were contrasts of each other (I'm a sucker for these kinds of things, one of the many reasons why I love Pokemon so much), and there was more than one Pokemon terrorist organization to worry about.
I'm talking about how more advanced features are generally available towards the end of the games
reading is hard, I know, but we all have to learn at some point
just because you're distracted by bright red words doesn't make what I say any less truthful, it's rather childish of you to actually take that title seriously
wow you sure do like to get all worked up in a huff about pokemon!
To all the complainers that think generation 1 is the best...

It's true. Don't fucking deny it.

Gen2 is clearly the best anyway
I just want my fucking Pokemon Colosseum remake for the 3DS already
(or just a 3D pokemon game with gameplay like Colosseum, though maybe without the whole focus on double battles)
I mean, Colosseum even had a totally different (and darker) story with interesting mechanics that could be greatly expanded upon (in a better way than XD:GoD tried)
They have the 3D models all premade for them and everything! Am I the only one who found shadow pokemon an extremely interesting change to the series?
Why don't nintendo just dispense with the fluff and just solely focus on the metagame? It's not like anyone cares about anything but the metagame.

You may not care but I actually like playing through the main part quite a bit, along with the story.
Just playing to play the game is boring.
I haven't played a Pokemon game since Gold.
I guess I just lost interest as a kid. I'll pick up one of the newer ones soon. I used to love them.
I'd suggest picking up HeartGold at least, you'll find it familiar but all the changes might surprise you. Plus the whole graphical overhaul is great. I'd stay away from Diamond and Pearl, I'll admit that they were the first Pokemon games I played that felt like they were specifically aimed at younger kids (they made it very easy and put in lots of tutorials)
don't you still have to collect 8 medallions or whatever
Yeah, I'm sorry but your opinion here really doesn't matters because you seem to have 0 knowledge about the main pokemon games.

Its actually the other way around for me. Metagame is boring as hell and its sort of like counter strike, full of tryhards who can actually fuck your shit up if you are just a casual with wrong natures on the wrong pokemon, while the story part of the game (in the counter strike example, that would be half-life I guess, since cs is a mod of it) is the really interesting part of the game, with lots of stuff to do, places to go, and neat stuff to look at even :v:
but if you played Black or White (which you didn't) you'd know that the story for this one is rather in-depth and actually warrants a sequel
Sorry, allow me to elaborate on what he said: it's exactly the same as the previous games, but now the bad guys are animal rights activists and the big bad [sp]is being manipulated by someone else[/sp]. Oh, and they [sp]create a 'mon themselves[/sp], which might sound just a bit familiar.
[editline];[/editline]
Of course, I'm over-simplifying it to the nth degree.
As long as it's for the DS/DSi and not the 3DS I'm set :v:
To those people saying that new features such as reusable TMs or breeding don't warrant a new sequel: How do you plan on adding those along with new graphics on a little cartridge?
If you're trying to say that adding new graphics would be too much for the DS, I know numerous JRPGs like Phantasy Star and the Final Fantasy remakes that have full 3D environments. I think they could attempt it, but it appears that they're not really trying at all.
Not on 3ds. Thank you Masuda.
So here's my prediction of Gamefreak's moneygrabbing masterplan:
2012: B2/W2 will be B/W, but with added storyline.
2014: Grey will redo B2/W2 and reveal a third form for Kyurem.

2014: Remake of Ruby/Sapphire
2016: New Generation
So in stead of 5 games every generation, we will have 7. Which is essentially 5 times the same game and 2 remakes. Lazy Gamefreak.
At least we can hope they include the extra features of heartgold/soulsilver, like walking pokemon and the pokewalker in one of these games.
Saying Japan and Storm in the same sentence is...
..Kinda early..

I remember once I was playing Pokemon Ranch and I accidently put my Zapdos in it.
I was pissed off.

From what I heard, Vanillish and it's evolutions were made by an American.
Just sayin' since everybody's talking about how different Gen V pokemon look compared to others.
How does this series warrant so many sequels without much change to the formula? I don't get it. I tried Pearl/Diamond and it was the same game as Red/Blue except colour and somewhat 3D.

This is exactly why I say the second generation is where Pokemon really got fun.
The first gen was good and all but it felt really primitive and had insane amounts of balance issues, and it was overall extremely tedious to level up and get all the pokemon. The second gen on the other hand had tons of new features, twice as many locations (if you count Kanto), twice as many pokemon, and it introduced so much balancing that had been needed.
After second gen psychic types were no longer the unstoppable gods they were in first gen, due to the introduction of the dark type and ghost types that weren't weak to psychic moves. Not only that, they fixed a metric fuckton of glitches that first gen had.
After 15+ years of making a new sequel every two years, they haven't changed enough and moved onto more platforms.
Nintendo wants to hold on to outdated models in the modern gaming era.
they still have to get around to making a pokepoacher game where you have to shoot rydons and sell their tusks for a profit.
Pokemon will always be nothing but simple fun to me. No matter how many games come out.

Second generation was an improvement, but far from perfect. I wouldn't say I legitimately even enjoyed competitive battling till the 4th gen actually. But I don't really play anymore anyways so.
So many more colour combinations left though!
Pokemon: Octarine and Bluellow version ?

I realize that it was far from perfect, that's why I said it was only when Pokemon started being fun
I personally didn't really like fighting until about fourth gen myself, third had many issues also. I think that fourth really perfected the whole thing

Actually, I believe Ghost existed in Gen 1. Gen 2 introduced Dark (Which was immune to and was super-effective against Psychic) and Steel (Which resisted Psychic.) I believe Bug was also made to be super-effective against Psychics.
Bug always beat psychics. But Bug was a terrible offensive typing back then. And all the way up until Megahorn, really.
