I get the feeling this will be our Benghazi for the next 4 years. "He committed treason", we shout, as the fully Republican government turns a blind eye and doesn't investigate.
Even if it's true, an espionage deal like this between the highest levels of power in the world probably would be experienced in cleaning up any evidence that could be used in an investigation.
This all hinges on whether the CIA is working with Trump or against him.
I really hope it's the latter - their loyalty is to the country and not the President thereof.
Much of that dossier did seem entirely plausible and potentially something Trump and his cabinet would be involved in given their incredibly shady pasts.
The pissing bit was likely something added in somewhere by someone trying to make it seem less legitimate and to provide a distraction. God I hope it's real because it's an absurd level of pettiness. But it's more likely it was there to throw people off (yeah that worked out well huh, people still read the whole thing).
Guys, this is legitimatlly how Tom Clancy novels start.
I think we are characters in a book, our universe is just the imagination of a single author.
Am i real?

Don't forget that Russians have been killing off around 4-5 people in the past several weeks as suspected spies, which might further corroborate claims that the dossier had some genuine information.

i'd like to say that must be a pretty fuckin autodidactic author but i know he'd probably just be jerking off over how meta that statement is. post-modernist cunt thinks he's being so clever, "look at me i'm referring to myself within the narrative!!" fuck off

i know you're reading this, hypothetical metaphysical megacunt
It's just alternate funding.
Something I feel it's fair to mention is that Rosneft announced that this deal was going to happen back in 2014. As much as I'd like for this to be definitive evidence, we're going to need harder evidence than (admittedly compelling) circumstantial evidence.
Does anyone have a sparknotes quick summary of what exactly this shit means?
Here's a summary as I understand it.
According to the unverified dossier from October that was compiled by former MI6 agent Christopher Steele (who is currently in hiding, apparently), Carter Page who was (at the time) a Trump advisor met with Igor Sechin (CEO of Rosneft). Page took a leave of absence after it was uncovered that he had met with Sechin, and this was uncovered before the dossier was published. Anyways, the dossier claims that when they met, Sechin offered Page part of the 19% share of Rosneft if he could convince Trump to lift sanctions on Russia. Page supposedly expressed interest and agreed, as stated in the other facepunch thread linked in the OP. The article in this thread is talking about how that 19% share was sold, and how its buyer cannot be properly verified because the paper trail goes through a bunch of twists and turns, like how Qatar and Glencore apparently received money from a Cayman Islands source that hasn't been disclosed. Overall, really, REALLY shady stuff.
Another thing to consider is that Oleg Erovinkin, a former KGB/FSB head that was serving as an aide to Sechin and is also a prominent source in the unverified dossier, was found dead of an apparent heart attack in the backseat of his car recently.
If there's anything I forgot, let me know.

We are now in full Berenstain.

Trump's response to someone saying "if you don't like how things are, run for president.
He was also in contact with Putin in 08 iirc.

Amazing we already have proof of treason this early on.
But hey now lets not forget about Hillary's emails right?

I'll try to update this post with various ideas. I've tried looking for a link to CNN too, but their page on CNN that comes up as a search result is outdated.

not incredibly solid proof just yet
Would a message like this be worth sending in as a tip to the links I provided above?

Hello,
In regards to a recent development about Russia selling off a 19.5% stake in the oil company Rosneft to an unknown and undisclosed party (see: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-russia-rosneft-privatisation-insight-idUSKBN1582OH ), it has been observed by some to have correlated with claims previously presented in the leaked dossier that exposed alleged connections of activity between Donald Trump and Russia. The dossier was previously said to have mentioned that, if Donald Trump had lifted sanctions on Russia, then Russia in return would offer a 19.5% stake in an oil company (see: http://www.businessinsider.com/carter-page-trump-russia-igor-sechin-dossier-2017-1?r=UK&IR=T ).
Furthermore, other recent news stories have shown four or five suspected Russian spies being killed or kidnapped - potentially a response to the leaked dossier. There is speculation that these events could correlate to verify the claims presented in the dossier, but media coverage of these recent developments (the Russian Oil Company selling off 19.5% of its stakes in the company, as well as the instances of spies being killed or kidnapped) has been sparse.
The correlation between these recent events might be looking into, seeing as how it is starting to appear that the claims presented in the leaked dossier might not be as fake or exaggerated as previously believed.
Thank you for reading.

I think a lot of agencies have made the connection already and are researching it. I don't see the harm though.

it's worth nothing that saying trump is behind this is an incredibly serious accusation, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
it's worth nothing that saying trump is behind this is an incredibly serious accusation, and extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
The way I phrased it was just speculation being worth looking into, but yeah, I agree with that too.
I think a lot of agencies have made the connection already and are researching it. I don't see the harm though.
Nobody wants to be the next Buzzfeed and have all of these claims dismissed as "fake news".
As much as I dislike Trump and want him out of office I really hope this isn't true. I mean yeah sure he'd get impeached but at what cost? Cold War 1.5 or World War 3? No thanks

I'd rather have a sane president at the helm of WWIII than Trump, because it seems shit is going to hit the fan either way. Not that I genuinely predict WWIII is happening, but you get the idea.

in reality it would probably be "president pence pardons trump, slaps putin on the wrist and says not to do it again"
in reality it would probably be "president pence pardons trump, slaps putin on the wrist and says not to do it again"
You notice how Pence has been left out of all the stuff Trump, Miller and Bannon have been doing lately?
They aren't friends.
You think pence is starting to have second thoughts?
You think pence is starting to have second thoughts?
Pence is a scumbag, but he's a loyalist to the country's political system and government structure. Trump's been making very big changes, with Bannon at his heel, even in the White House.
I think Pence no longer has a say.
Maybe Pence is just biding his time and assuming he can take over after Trump messes up.
You guys might have a legit traitor in every meaning of the word, in the presidency of the most powerful country of the planet, that would be amazing it wasn't terrifying.
Well there's no fucking question that national security is taking a back seat to politics after the disagreement in Washington over investigating election interference.
