I don't understand why everyone wants to legalize this shit,In my line of work I see people everyday high and overtime you just see their brain melt away,if it gets legalized it would fuck up so many people.
There is a reason it was outlawed in the first place
have you even smoked weed?

Talk about trying too hard.
But that's pretty badass I guess.
This is exactly how her fanbase should not perceive this stunt, if you will.
Weed's fine and dandy but this feels like kind of a forced "I'm a bad girl look at me" act

Not a joint of pot!
I came up with a theory for this yesterday (while baked, of course). When Hannah dropped out of the spotlight, Miley wasn't quite done with being famous. With her Montanna days behind her, she followed the philosophy of "Any publicity is good publicity". When she launched her new music (Which honestly isn't that bad) she immediately drummed up attention for it by using the MTV music awards stunt, and she used that slutty music video to get people riled up about it. When people hear about it, they want to see what the fuss is about, and get exposed to her music. This smoking a joint on stage is simply another way to bring attention back to her. Chopping off half her hair was a way to start putting the spotlight on her before the release of her new album, before going full on. This only worked so well because of the chaos created from a former public role model (Hannah) contrasts so heavily with the new Miley. Shit, same thing is happening with the beebs, even though we all hate him we can't keep our eye off him. Although i think it's less brilliant planning on his part and more him being a fucking twat.

If there was ever a time to allow one post outside DD to be rated smarked, you claim the pot.
I would smoke joints with Miley Cyrus.
Was it even confirmed for ganja? I know plenty of people who smoke hand-rolling tobacco all the time, most of the time the only way to distinguish between it and weed is the smell, or a detailed-ass inspection.

What the ever loving fuck was that?

That smoke is way too white to be tobacco.
I would be mad about all of the money this kind of shit is making her if she weren't letting her managers ruin her life.
When will people get the fact that "hey guys talk about me" is the thing that makes her fuck tons of money. Let's be honest, shes damn good at getting people talking about her, whether it be for the right reasons or not.

Now we can have joints AND pot!

(Would just like to mention for saving-my-ass reasons I do not smoke weed.)
had already caused a stir by arriving at the event in a revealing mini-dress emblazoned with images of murdered rappers The Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur along with the words "please stop violence".
Why the hell would this cause a stir? People wear similar shirts all the time.
Why the hell would this cause a stir? People wear similar shirts all the time.
Because the deaths of Biggie and Tupac are still controversial.
Justin Bieber's gone the same way. Here's what I think happens.
Young stars are initially controlled by corporate machine, who keeps them on the 'straight and narrow' and making profitable, simple music and retaining fans from the target generation for years.
Stars grow older and realize they're being somewhat controlled in how they act/ what they say/ what they think.
They look for themselves to see what's 'really cool' as opposed to what they've been told.
They see rap stars with laissez-faire management and mostly unrestricted in terms of how they act and what they say, spending money living the good life.
They rebel somewhat against their 'straight and narrow' upbringings and the machine adapts by appearing to accept the change (so they can keep making money), and this is the end result, a fucking contradictory mess of non-sense.
How many weed needles did she inject on stage?! this is not a good role model for children!
Miley is one of the biggest trolls of our generation, she's honestly starting to grow on me. I don't like her music, but I enjoy that she's a shit-disturber.

trolling with those memes

But her shirt was advocating 'stopping the violence' why would you complain about that?
I'd toke up with miley. chick can drop bars
they're trying waaaaaaaay too hard to make her seem edgy and adult and it sort of has the opposite effect. go home miley; you're dull.

As I noted, it's not really 'them' at this stage. It's her.
She's the machine's investment, so they just move with it to keep making profit, but it's just hugely superficial.
The machine is conformity, and her new lifestyle is about breaking conformity. So it's like they're self promoting the destruction of their own foundations.
I guess she's just trying to keep everyone's eyes on her since the VMAs. She's gonna need to come up with some crazy shit if she wants to maintain the same level of attention she's getting today.
I'm curious to see what she's gonna do next.

Smoking pot is hardly breaking conformity; pretty much every teenager smokes at some point. I wonder if this is secretly some elaborate governmental reverse psychology; pot has never seemed this uncool. Pop music has always been about rebelling and breaking conformity. The only real difference here is that she's trying way too hard and it just seems uncomfortably juvenile and sad.
Watched her on SNL. I'm now completely ok with her doing whatever.

Not that i wasn't before. But it just underlined how little of my business her life really is. I really caught the American "Butt into Hollywood business" flu for about 5 seconds. My mind wasn't my own.
"Hey guys everyone pay attention to me"
it's 2013 and this is still how people react to celebrities being outrageous
One of the recent episodes of South Park pretty much sums up how stupid this all is.

I'm shocked by her blatant disregard of the law. Doesn't she know there is an EU wide ban on smoking in the work place?
Some people..
People who do drugs and brag about it 24/7 deserve to be punished
