Let's play some fucking Monopoly.
There is something very spiritual about Dial-up

Imagine in like 1000 years when people stumble upon this.
Dial-up will become a cult in the year 3011

all hail wrrrrrrrfshhhhhhhhbeeeerrrrrrr
I live in a pretty rural area, and I didn't get ADSL until maybe 3-4 years ago, and that was because we had to petition some odd organization for them to put it out this far. I still know kids who are bound to dial-up because the lines don't go far enough, which is really sad.
I couldn't imagine living without high-speed internet in today's world.
What the fuck is dial up, I'm too rich for that shit
Yes, I have slaves deliver my information.
It's so easy to use, no wonder it's #1.

When I was young I made a robot costume out of cardboard boxes and the shiny side of aol disks.
I took the disks and hang up them on the wall(shiny side up).
Also I wouldn't be surprised if using AOL and dial-up is someone's fetish.
Masochism fetish.
Lol, remember when the internet was supposed to be a free service to all that can connect to it? (Upon its creation)? Oh yeah, then giant corporations started milking it.
Back when it was a small user-base academic endeavour maybe. But companies had to get involved at some point as the user-based ramped up to the millions, then billions we see today. Somebody has to pay for the backbone, and keep it maintained. And I don't see many governments stepping up to the plate or pushing research into communications technologies.
But seriously, fuck BT. My town has been waiting for any form of speed improvements for years now.
I used dial-up to download HL2: Deathmatch. It took 8 hours.
I just realized that's around 200MB.

Did you have any Source games installed beforehand?
Did you have any Source games installed beforehand?
I had HL2 and CS:S that came with the disk, stopped playing after trying to update them.
Haha I remember that feeling of picking up the phone to call somebody only to hear those screeches because somebody is on the internet.
Don't fax machines still make that noise?
What is this "fax" machine you speak of?
