Holy shit, Reagan's Star Wars dream is getting closer every day. :ohdear:
I wonder if this thing can shoot down those Russian Sizzler anti-ship missiles that use a supersonic "dash" during its final flight stage...
Damn that thing looks mean. Need some video footage of said death ray
Fucking void rays are OP
How long until a mad scientist steals it?
How long until a mad scientist steals it?
They hired at least ten of them. How else do you expect a death ray to be made? [editline]09:48PM[/editline]
ZAP! That's the last sound a terrorists will hear.
Lasers are light. Light travels faster then sound. They wouldn't hear shit. [editline]06:09PM[/editline]
Didn't they have lasers to shoot down rockets for a while? Why is a drone different?
Well maybe if you had read the damn article you would know why it's that different.
Lasers are light. Light travels faster then sound. They wouldn't hear shit.
They'd hear the sound of melting skin, but not for long.
Can it fix my acnea scars?
No! Go back to the screenshots section!
I guess Stiny was working for the goverment, should have gotten him a Danish.
LaWLS
That would be horrible to be hit by. I mean, with the Phalanx, you'd probably die instantly if one of the 20mm autocannon shells hits you, but with this death ray thing you would be melted alive, and depending on the intensity of the laser you could be alive for a few seconds while your body melts and evaporates. :ohdear:
Your brain would be steamed almost instantly, it happened at Herculaneum.
But what if they don't target your body? :ohdear: I'm sure the, er, "impact" area is not very large. There shouldn't be much dispersion.

Eudoxia, you post something not space related and a giant sink hole opens up. Way to go.
Eudoxia, you post something not space related and a giant sink hole opens up. Way to go.
I'm sorry :kiddo: I'll go back to working on my megastructures thread (Coming soon)
Fucking lasers, how do they work?
I mean, with the Phalanx, you'd probably die instantly if one of the 20mm autocannon shells hits you, but with this death ray thing you would be melted alive, and depending on the intensity of the laser you could be alive for a few seconds while your body melts and evaporates. :ohdear:
well we can test than on your avatar
Not to be a negative nancy (this is extremely cool) How many naval threats do we have now other than small dinghies full of pirates, or the potential Korean conflict? And this isn't something that could just be mounted on a Humvee for land use either
That's pretty sweet. Glad to see they're making ray defense systems.
Not to be a negative nancy (this is extremely cool) How many naval threats do we have now other than small dinghies full of pirates, or the potential Korean conflict?
Yeah but it'd be kickass to vaporize a bunch of Somali pirates in a flash. :c00l:
It won't be long 'til they mount them on sharks.
freaking sharks with freaking lasers on their freaking heads
reminded me of the laser from transformers 2
Navy builds death ray. Sharks are found to have potential invisibility to their prey. Do you not see what WW3 will consist of?
They should be punished by our LaWS
My dream of making space like eve is coming closer.
