The country being drastically altered during a recession is a necessity. There wouldn't have been a recession if something wasn't horribly wrong with things on our end. Pretty much regardless of your political stance or favored school of economics, what has happened necessitates some variety of change.
What you mean to say is "I'm positive that the overhauling the new administration would like to give the country isn't the best idea."
Which is a wholly arguable point, if you're going to take it seriously.

Swing and a miss.
China is arguably the most important market on the planet now. That's it. Rising superpowers? You best be talking about a re-militarizing Japan.

Right, he was going to tell the voters "Yeah, recession, I'm not going to bother fixing any of the things you elected me to fix."

10th grade textbook, 9th grade Global Studies, 7th grade world history, school in general. I thought this was common knowledge? You could ask anyone here about it and it they've gone to school chances are they'd know.

Well, at least we would be in less debt.

well I don't really hold school textbooks very reliable (at least mine isn't, my 11th grade history, for example, makes numerous errors in just about everything foreign and non-american).
furthermore it doesn't even make sense, because, like i said, nukes destroy the infrastructure needed to maintain a healthy economy and sustain a population. that was their goal, after all, to cripple countries, not kill off the population.
also nukes early on in the cold war were overtly focused on tactical uses. of course they also had the ability to wreck an entire country, but most leaders hoped nukes would be kept on the smaller, tactical scale where they would help give decisive defeats to the enemy and hope for a peace offering in their favor.
i mean really, if china was nuked it would be devastated. those not killed instantly by the nuclear attacks would die from radiation travelling through the air, starvation, etc. the country would degenerate into anarchy and every-man-for-himself. so a 'you won't be able to kill us all!' policy wouldn't even make sense as it would probably fall to pieces in the event of a nuclear attack anyway.
We shouldn't be friendly to communist dictatorships.

there will always be government spending/debt. Bush did it, Obama's doing it, the next guy I assure you will put us further into debt.

We're only friendly if they don't try to spread communism.
China doesn't have a history of that
We're only friendly if they don't try to spread communism via proxy rebellions and shit like that.

You can't say that the Soviet Union wasn't trying to expand their power and communism?
You can't say that the Soviet Union wasn't trying to expand their power and communism?
Well china did a few big things to piss off the capitalist west
1. Rejecting imperialism that dominated china since the 19th century
2. Sending the western-backed Kuomintang to Taiwan
3. Intervening the Korean war
4. Aiding communist revolutionaries in a handful of countries, such as the phillipines and vietnam
Also, Cuba is pretty isolationist. Why don't we leave them alone?
You can't say that the Soviet Union wasn't trying to expand their power and communism?
heh, too bad they didn't have any communism to spread
No, your post is just so retarded, so devoid of any intellectual thought or effort or research or anything that would make it even remotely valid as a viewpoint, that no explanation is necessary. It barely even warrants notice, but I keep posting, trying to get you to see just how dumb and hateful you are. But no, you'll never see. No matter how many facts and how much evidence is presented to you, you will never change. You will never listen to an opposing viewpoint, no matter how well-researched it is or how much it is based within fact. Why? Because THIS IS ARE COUNTRY, and SUPPORT ARE TROOPS, and JESUS THE LORD'S PLAN FOR US ALL. You will continue to listen to FOX News, to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter, will listen to them rant and rave about how Obama is a muslim communist born in Kenya, and you will give a smug little smirk and nod your head, and you will continue doing this until this nation crumbles into dust. Because that is how your mindset works, and how the mindset of many others in this country works. You will never know anything other than the mindless hatred or the willful ignorance of the Conservative in your life. You are dumb, and your posts are dumb, just like all the other conservative teenagers on this forum who lap up whatever words their parents and pastors tell them.

1.Well, didn't Britain and other countries pretty much control china back then?
3. I thought that was because we went into Chinese territory.

Still popular, I suppose. Maybe I should get one of these

1. Britain pried chinese economy open for all foreign investors to invest in. It didn't really control China though. That was left to the kuomintang, who, smartening up, welcomed foreign investment.
3. I'm not sure. Even if we did I'm not sure the US would still be too happy with them preventing a DPRK capitulation
Well, at least we would be in less debt.
That's idiotic. National debt is not the be-all, end-all measurement of a nation's health, nor should it be used as an excuse for blocking positive progress towards improving the lives of citizens.
We shouldn't be friendly to communist dictatorships.
I'm sorry, do you mean exploitative economically socialist oligarch with strong nationalist capitalist tones? Because short of the socialist part, China's about as communist as Bush was a National Socialist.
You can't say that the Soviet Union wasn't trying to expand their power and communism?
Yeah, they were communist until they figured out just how wildly rich they could become with the exploitation of cheap labor that communism dosesn't allow.
i referring to the end of your quote, referring to china not having a history of trying to spread communism
Oh I see.
China's environment is going to hell thanks to their rapid expansion.
They need to fix their shit before they slap some more factories down.
Then, it's other countries' faults really.
I feel bad for mis-reading that as "Obama welcomes China's rice"
