26% also think 9/11 was an inside job.
What does this even have to do with anything
26% also think 9/11 was an inside job.
Not the same 26% though.
Not the same 26% though.
Lies.
Could just entirely be a joke. Not too many people actually take these kinds of polls seriously.
I know. France right?
Well when you think about it, after the war France pretty much veiwed us as an unofficial colony of theirs. The only reason they helped us out was because they wanted to bitchslap Britian and control the US. We owed them rediculous money and had an unconditional alliance with them. If it wasn't for John Jay in the Paris peace talks, we would have been a French colony more or less. The Convention of 1800 and the preceeding war could pretty much be seen as a secondary Revolutionary War in us gaining freedom from France. It was not technically a war with France since Congress did not declare it, but we had naval battles in the carribeans for a good five years and sunk their merchant ships an we sank theirs. Unfortuantly our three ship navy (I shit you not, it actaully might have been two.) couldn't take on France in a real war, so we refused to actaully declare war.

History is just trying to cover up what happened. We actually declared independence from the Antarctic penguin empire. So did every other country. [editline]10:36AM[/editline] I know this.
American's being stupid is pretty old news. View YouTUBE video http://youtube.com/watch?v=fJuNgBkloFE I blame the education though.
They probably asked alot of people but only showed the parts that make Americans look stupid... although im not suprised so many are stupid.
They only polled 1000 people? You cannot say "26% of Americans think blah..." if you only poll such a small amount. I hate bullshit like this.
Welcome to the world of media.
They only polled 1000 people? You cannot say "26% of Americans think blah..." if you only poll such a small amount. I hate bullshit like this. I could poll 4 Muslim Americans and ask "are you Christian?" and have them all say no. Does that mean 0% of Americans are Christian? You need a much larger number of people polled for any somewhat accurate results.
read the thread
Easterners said Britain, Mid-westerners said France, Westerners said Mexico, Floridians said Spain, and dumbfucks said Japan or China. Too bad this isn't true, it would at least make the Americans that didn't know seem a bit less moronic.
Wow people are stupid Everyone knows it was Zambia
I wouldn't be blaming the education system, a lot of these are probably immigrants, the homeless, or the mentally handicapped.
Now that's just fucking sad.

"Hmm... we were fighting guys in red uniforms, so I think we declared independence from Santa Claus!"
This has to be a really biased survey because I've never heard of anyone not knowing this.
it was like... florida right? yeah.
I doubt that poll is accurate, at all.
APs.
Read thread. I was in AP classes, still counted in a 4 point scale.

Why is it such a big deal if people don't know some history? How is knowing some history useful to the average person? How many people really care about the history of their country?
I'm english, i only know this, because we are taught that we will take it back and we need to know what we're gettin' to get it.

It is just as important as any other subject in school.
