remember guys, racism is over(according to the GOP and some other assorted idiots) :suicide:
People remain stupid. More at 11.
Apparently, all of CPAC was a bust. Stuff like this make it hard for me to call myself an American-style Conservative.
its called classical liberalism. [editline]18th March 2013[/editline]
The best part of this is that it happened at a panel discussing how the GOP can be less alienating to people who aren't white.
thats why i suspect this guy was just being ironic.
Finally an answer! I can finally sleep at nice at peace.
its called classical liberalism.
haha that's a funny joke.
Wasn't Lincoln a Republican?
Republicans and Democrats were the opposite back then
also the civil war wasn't about slaver right guys?
Wasn't Lincoln a Republican?
When the Republican party was founded, it was actually very Liberal. This changed around in the 1930's when Hoover fucked up the party.
all you need to know about Lincoln and his party affiliation is that he won all the northern states and lost all the southern states
When the Republican party was founded, it was actually very Liberal. This changed around in the 1930's when Hoover fucked up the party.
liberal is a subjective term that means a lot to different people. the republican party was founded by abolitionists. other than that i don't know how liberal they really were.
Apparently, all of CPAC was a bust. Stuff like this make it hard for me to call myself an American-style Conservative.
Eh, one guy talking out like that doesn't really shock me, even though I'm more conservative as well. We could find plenty of stories about modern democrats saying stupid shit, same with republicans.
also the civil war wasn't about slaver right guys?
Is this meant to be sarcasm or what? The civil war was about state's rights; the slaves just, in the end, benefited from it.
oh my god don't go into the video to read the comments
Is this meant to be sarcasm or what? The civil war was about state's rights; the slaves just, in the end, benefited from it.
no it wasn't, it was about slavery pure and simple. the way the csa was structured alluded to an ideal for more state's rights, but the sucession was literally because of slavery
the right of states to own slaves
the right of states to own slaves
Or the right of states to legislate so that slavery is legal. Basically the same thing.
to those who disagree, here are a few of the reasons mississippi seceded.
It has grown until it denies the right of property in slaves, and refuses protection to that right on the high seas, in the Territories, and wherever the government of the United States had jurisdiction. It refuses the admission of new slave States into the Union, and seeks to extinguish it by confining it within its present limits, denying the power of expansion. It tramples the original equality of the South under foot. It has nullified the Fugitive Slave Law in almost every free State in the Union, and has utterly broken the compact which our fathers pledged their faith to maintain. It advocates negro equality, socially and politically, and promotes insurrection and incendiarism in our midst.
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/csa_missec.asp [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] http://bellsouthpwp.net/m/e/mebuckner/civwarquiz.htm take this quiz too [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] btw "state's rights" was a code word for slavery back then anyways.
what the Christ
anyyone who talks about anti-white=anti-white is literally a white supremacist (probably nazi tbh). it's one of their favourite talking points.
those dudes who like made their own confederate thingy said they seceded because of slavery i think i believe them
Apparently, all of CPAC was a bust. Stuff like this make it hard for me to call myself an American-style Conservative.
The Republican party was mostly fine until the virus known as the "Tea Party" showed up. Nearly all of the racist bigots hang out in that camp, along with the other crazies that need to be hauled off to never be heard from again. Conservatism is fine, just distance yourself from "Tea Partiers" or any of their offshoots.
what the Christ
Stupid people are stupid. If you want to find the origin of any species, you go to the place where you find the most biodiversity within the smallest area, which is Africa. Homo Sapiens started with black skin, lighter complexions only came about from moving around the world and thousands of years of evolution to cope with surrounding environments. White people came about from living in the harsh climates of northern Europe and intermingling with Neandertals. While many areas of the world will eventually have a predominant Caucasian appearance wise population, extreme ends of the spectrum aren't ever going to go away completely, they'll still average out based on the area in which people live. Lighter colors in the northern hemisphere, darker colors around the equator and lighter colors in the southern hemisphere.
Apparently, all of CPAC was a bust. Stuff like this make it hard for me to call myself an American-style Conservative.
its tough being a conservative brony
oh my god don't go into the video to read the comments
guys if you dont like slavery then youre just some hyper sensitive liberals nothings wrong with black people work the fields
are the gop trying anymore or what because it seems they gave up around the time they voted on romney as a candidate
It is still my firm belief that Republican nominations for the 2012 elections were all just sacrificial candidates. Despite all the hype and holler, Obama had his seat pretty solidly locked, and the Republican party didn't want to throw away anybody who wasn't disposeable. Once you've lost a presidential election like that, you can pretty much kiss goodbye to your chances of ever trying again, so I can't help but suspect that the party is saving its A-game for 2016.
