Whenever I think of the Patriot Act, I always think of a few office dwellers tapping in on phone sex by accident.
What a disgustingly biased title

The 99% isn't biased. Maybe the reasons are different than what's shown here, but the fact is, 99% of them voted against it, and with my understanding of the bill, there's absolutely no reason to do vote no to this.
There could have been a shit-ton of earmarks, I've heard that the Republicans in Congress are refusing to vote for bills with them.
Yeah! Fuck that constitution! Only we should abide to laws and this shit. When you guys are doing something, you can just go ahead and make up your own rules. Like a really shitty game of hide-n-go-seek. Well US government, I have a good game for you.
Its called hide-n-go-fuck-yourself. Which means I abide to very little of your laws, keep voting for lizard people, and I will continually, and repetitively, keep running over pedestrians in parking garages.
Ironic how the Republicans say they Love the "Founding Fathers" yet do everything they can to go against them.
Despicable. So the constitution only counts to the Republicans when it can be interpreted in their favor. It wouldn't be such a big deal if the GOP/Tea party wasn't so keen on using the Constitution as a scapegoat to oppose any and all legislation they don't favor.

I don't see what's biased in here, it does nothing more than state that nearly all of the republican party voted against a bill that protects the first amendment.
Wow, I mean WOW
I actually thought like a respectable well balanced individual that not all Republicans are the like the Stereotype, that some of them are respectable people who's intentions are betrayed by the loud idiotic people in their company but with all groups these are just a minority and the majority are good respectable people.
oh but how wrong I was!
from now on in my book, if you call yourself a Republican you are an ignorant fool and I would suggest you stop supporting these people before they destroy the entire country with their stupidity and corrupt hubris.
And that's all I have to say on the matter.
Nice title OP, it summarizes two lines out of the entire article.

I'd also like to see the rest of the bill, they are hardly ever this one dimensional.
Moving to Amsterdam may come sooner than expected.

Anyone calling themself a Republican is stupid. Like anyone calling themselves a Democrat is just as stupid. They're just two different ends of a spectrum, but all act like they have downs syndrome. Not one of those parties is going to help you.
No one is going to help you, all help is lost.

Why so you can smoke pot 24/7? The inhabitants of Amsterdam are just fucked up weird.
I wonder how the 1% that voted for it feels.

you heard it here first folks.

Ron Paul is always alone. He's destined to be forever alone when it comes to this stuff.

even when he is seemingly right, he is alone.

That's the problem with the way bills written. Things that seem to have great face value often have major problems with they way they are enacted or have many negative riders attached to them.

why amsterdam?
move to rotterdam or den haag

Northern Europe in general is looking more appealing every day.

Other than the 99%, the title is completely biased. It's taking what the patriot act is and putting it into a biased perspective
I'd be in tears if I wasn't leaving this shit hole of a country.
I feel sorry for you all you though. :saddowns:

I'm actually teaching myself Dutch because the Netherlands is a place I'm considering going. Or I'll just be lazy and move to Canada, who knows.

don't bother, most dutch people learn english in school and they don't like it anyway when you butcher the language
i speak dutch but i don't utter a single word of it to dutch people for a reason
This is why I don't like political parties.
Too much rivalry and baseless stereotyping, too little shit getting done.

you're dumb as hell
the sad part is this goes over most americans' heads
they have the information, they just don't bother. and why should they? they have farmville, radio, books, video games, etc.
Republicans are doing whatever they can to bring the government to a halt so they can claim Obama isn't doing anything, even if it ends up being detrimental to the country. This has been made very clear over and over.
House GOP are anti-American, to throw their terms around.
Which in turn makes people think the US is stupid and has weird laws and shit.
While infact Ombama is doing pretty good in comparison with Bush.
But really, 99% against? How does that even work? I would've expected 99% for the bill. 1 % consisting of people with warped ideas of how it should be.
Or I'll just be lazy and move to Canada, who knows.
We're fleeing to Sweden and Norway, don't bother

One moment while I prepare a standard Internet response
ahem,
"No U".
