Ah, but I also offer an argument with substance.
I don't just call you a fucking barbarian shit for brains who's too stupid to understand the truth and then walk away claiming victory.
Gummmy, you may not agree, and I don't as well, but everyone has equal rights. Everyone is "intended" to have equal opportunity.
Sure, of course, everyone that doesn't murder or torture other people
A consequence is an unalterable result of ones actions. What you're describing is retribution, the active punishment of those who commit wrongs in your eyes for reasons of "purity".
What purity?
If retribution is a man going to jail for stealing, then yes, I guess I am a crusader.
Well I'd say that's good, but I think ending his life is a good option, it's worth it...and you can't disagree.
But once again, the goal in this scenario is to end a threat. Not to punish a wrong doer.
Sure, of course, everyone that doesn't murder or torture other people
or rape people or steal or blaspheme in the name of our lord
wait what
I think it's both

I can agree with raping.
Stealing isn't bad enough to warrant ending someone's equal rights, and blasphemy is definitely not bad enough to warrant any punishment.

Im trying to understand both sides. Gummmy's half idiotic ideas, and you and a few others ideas.
I believe of a mix of the two I guess.
What purity?

Jail is different than execution. You can free a man from prison, a man who's killed cannot be brought back to life.
Prison should be a neutralization measure, not a means of punishment. It should be a place to help people reintegrate into society. A sort of rehab.
Sure, of course, everyone that doesn't murder or torture other people
Hey, can you acknowledge that we have poked holes in your bullshit already? immediate threats, eye for an eye, giving the government power, rehabilitation, blood thirsty zealotry.
Wait, wheres YOUR argument poking holes in ours? So far, you've resorted to "you fuckers are deluded if you think all people are people".
Im trying to understand both sides. Gummmy's half idiotic ideas, and you and a few others ideas.

It's hard not to get idiotic when people don't listen to any reason

Why not? I can assure you that a great majority of people in the past would be perfectly alright with killing someone for blasphemy. Are they wrong now?

Where do you draw the line? And what gives you the authority to draw that line? Also, what gives you the authority to order these things by severity in the way that you did?
It's hard not to get idiotic when people don't listen to any reason
What reasoning have you put forth, exactly?

Thats a good idea. But theres a problem (Isnt there with everything?)
What about those convicts who cant seem to reintegrate into society. The ones who are always coming back to prison. The drug addict always coming back to rehab? Now I am not saying they should be killed like the man in this article, just food for thought.

God you're ridiculous, you can't prove me wrong anyway. I can't prove you guys wrong either, there's no point in even arguing because this depends on how you were raised.
Just give it up, this guy is going to get murdered in jail.
By the way, if he was an equal human he wouldn't be in jail for the rest of his life x6
What reasoning have you put forth, exactly?
That murdering people is bad, I think that pretty much should be all I need, but apparently not.
It's hard not to get idiotic when people don't listen to any reason
List your god damn reasons.
Thats a good idea. But theres a problem (Isnt there with everything?)

They should be imprisoned for as long as it takes to make them fit for reintegration into society. If that means forever, so be it.
It's hard not to get idiotic when people don't listen to any reason
With you, its an on and off "Thats alright, seems fine."
Or a "REALLY? Just, REALLY!?"

yes, he would be. Why wouldn't he be? He is a dangerous man, and must be contained. The possibility of rehabilitation is there. Cutting that short is not right, and this isn't about your fucking retribution you fucking zealot. This is about ending a threat. Nothing more.
Also, murdering people = bad, but oyu want to keep killing... Hmm...
List your god damn reasons.
Murder is bad, therefore people who commit it are bad people
Sure, of course, everyone that doesn't murder or torture other people
What about killing in self-defense? Or accidental murder?
They should be imprisoned for as long as it takes to make them fit for reintegration into society. If that means forever, so be it.
That sounds reasonable.

Hey yo, if he was equal he wouldn't dangerous.

You're being very silly about all this. You say we're being obstinate, and then tacitly admit the only reason you're right is because you say you are and it should be obvious.
Theoretically, I think most of us can agree that if someone murders, they cannot understand the sacredness of human rights and shouldn't deserve them.
However, no one single person can make the decision as to where the line is drawn between being treated as a human and as a offender, therefore we must all be treated as equals.
What about killing in self-defense? Or accidental murder?
I'm obviously talking about willingly murdering someone.
Hey yo, if he was equal he wouldn't dangerous.
I'm dangerous too. We're all dangerous. That doesn't make us less human.
What about killing in self-defense? Or accidental murder?
-snip-
bah, nevermind
:siren:Hypothetical Fun Zone!:siren:
Because I am a moral crusader like Gummylamb, I have made a chart which ranks crimes in order of severity.

Please draw a line on the chart indicating where capital punishment should begin. Do not modify the chart, "it's just fucking logic" that they're already in the right order.

That's really all I can do, I can't prove your morals right, as you can't prove mine wrong.
