you get to deal with Mike pence then
Mike Pence is an asshole for civil liberties, but he isn't likely to precipitate an apocalyptic nuclear war.
Someone will take him out before it comes to that, if that's even a remote possibility. Trump's an idiot, but even he's not *that* stupid.
Trump isn't going to last two years. There is a lot people who don't like him that will be working, against him.
do you actually believe that this is a possibility
It's about as unlikely as Trump becoming president
Trump isn't going to last two years. There is a lot people who don't like him that will be working, against him.
I dunno. I definitely think the Republicans will be holding the threat of impeachment over his head, but if he behaves himself well enough he might make it out, regardless of how much he deserves it. This election has upended the status quo plenty. I don't think they want to upend it any more.
Speaking of Impeachment... As much as I dislike Trump, president Mike Pence is something I don't want to see.
jesus christ America. Where did a country that's ostensibly the leader of the free world all go so wrong
When we didn't step up and bar this guy from even so much as becoming a candidate for the presidency. That was the beginning. Good news at least is that his presidency is going to be so fucking disastrous and infuriating that I think we'll have learned a lesson from it and why we need more stringent control over what flies and what doesn't. And the people are already angry, so we'll hopefully see them ramp up their radicalism against this kind of horseshit. But basically, yeah, we should've stopped him back when he was flirting with becoming a candidate. That would've stopped all this bullshit. But we didn't, and now here we are. And we're going to get fucked over by him so hard it'll be unprecedented in our nation's history. We're in for a fun four years.
jesus christ America. Where did a country that's ostensibly the leader of the free world all go so wrong
Arguably there's many a reason, but I would say it began when some idiot decided "Hey! You know who probably has an opinion on how government should be run? Giant multi-national corporations whose only interest is profit at whatever cost!"
don't tell me you unironically believe trump would start world war 3
Let's see: 1. He's called for an increase in nuclear weapons for the US 2. He's constantly being aggressive toward China both policy wise and with his giant mouth 3. China has already been taunted by Trump on multiple occasions So yes. I do fear a nuclear war under that orange moron.
-snip wrong thread-
don't tell me you unironically believe trump would start world war 3
i mean actually I'm just curious to see the gymnastics you do to justify this statement.
Speaking of Impeachment... As much as I dislike Trump, president Mike Pence is something I don't want to see.
Call me crazy but I am of the opinion that even though Trump is (soon to be) president officially he will do little of the actually governing so in that regard he practically is.
according to faux news, he's refering to modernizing nuclear weapons, something obama apparently hasn't spent the last 8 years doing even though he has spent the last 8 years doing it. personally i'm pretty sure he's refering to specifically building more nuclear bombs something which we do not need to do.
As far as I am concerned anyone who advocates for the proliferation of nuclear weapons should be barred from ever holding office, and anyone in office that would approve proliferation should be removed by any means necessary as soon as they make their intentions known. The world ain't about that shit anymore and I am not gonna let a new arms race escalate to the extinction of the human race because of a cocaine-fueled 3 am rant.
according to faux news, he's refering to modernizing nuclear weapons, something obama apparently hasn't spent the last 8 years doing even though he has spent the last 8 years doing it.
Luckily he clarified his statement in an interview. "Let it be an arms race." His transition team is doing damage control, saying that the Trump Administration does not want a nuclear arms race.

It fucking is babysitting at this point. America elected a dude who effectively needs to be followed around to make sure he doesn't bump into stuff and knock everything over. Give me the strength for christ's sake.
do you actually believe that this is a possibility

don't tell me you unironically believe trump would start world war 3
You people are serious right? Or do you blame sarcasm when it's convenient to you? Aren't you from the same camp that thought if Hillary was elected, she'd start World War III with the Russians? I guess when you assume, it makes an ass out of u and me huh.
don't tell me you unironically believe trump would start world war 3
I unironically believe he has a better chance at that than most presidents in the past couple decades

Mental gymnastics doesn't do this shit justice, its like mental pole vaulting.
I'm interested to see what the reason for this request is. This article is very ominous and lacks detail. [Editline]kelleman with air quotes and those semetic brackets[/editline] In true NPR fashion, this article is just vague enough to incite fear. Trump's team should clarify their intent to prevent this irresponsible kind of reporting.
"In true NPR fashion?" NPR has perhaps the highest integrity of any journalistic institution in the country. They regularly interview all sides of the issues, present all perspectives during their reporting, and always let their guests speak their piece. I have never once seen them fail to offer a fair and open platform for their guests-- even when interviewing the likes of David Duke. They've had multiple people from the Trump administration on their show, and have always given them the opportunity to explain themselves. If NPR isn't saying why this request was made, it's because that information isn't available yet. If or when the Trump camp offers an explanation for why they are requesting these lists, NPR will then report on that explanation. Hell, they would probably invite a Trump spokesman onto the show to explain it directly to the listeners, and even field questions.

Or the fact that NPR never has, and likely never will let Chomsky on the air?
