He has since said the US would recoup the costs from its neighbour at a later date.
Trump is going to have a dinner meeting with the President of Mexico and when the check comes, ever so subtly slide it toward his side of the table and say "I know you're good for that, amigo."
Congress receive an IOU written on gold paper scrawled by a tiny orange hand. "IOU $10bn from mexico ps donald trump is tremendous"
And given how long this Dutch cabinet has stalled on many other issues, I would be surprised if they can suddenly can set up an international fund so that the Dutch can pay yet again for other countries without the Dutch population itself getting a say in the matter.
An international fund. We're not the only ones who will give money to it. How could you possibly be against this anyway?
I think at this point, God hates us
This is god messing around when drunk on nectar and full of Ambrosia going, "let's see what happens when shit really hits the fan in mortal-land"
An international fund. We're not the only ones who will give money to it. How could you possibly be against this anyway?
That does not change the fact it is Dutch taxpayer money and lets be honest we got more pressing issues that could use that money. Like our healthcare, infrastructure and defence. I mean look at this: http://www.nu.nl/economie/4412226/bijna-14000-zieken-en-ouderen-hebben-schuld-eigen-bijdrage-zorg.html I rather have that our tax are used for this then rather then a international fund that barely benefits the people that pay these taxes.

Wow. Can't say much else. Is there any hope that this will not happen? Due to how long I presume it would take to build a 2000~ miles wall across the border. Surely he won't make it another term?

We don't even know how much we'll be giving. It might not even be mutually exclusive to spend more money on all of these things while still giving some money to this fund
So, how many times has Trump flipped on the wall now? First it was absolutely totally going to be a big concrete wall, then it was just a 'campaign device', then it was that it's going to happen but it would be part fence, and now we're talking about walls again
did people really claim that the wall was supposed to be a metaphor because he made it perfectly clear that he wanted a physical wall multiple times
A few, yeah. Metaphor isn't the exact wording, of course, but there were still people defending the flip because well obviously he wasn't gonna go through with it And now there's defense of another flip because obviously he always wanted a wall
Trump has said that the wall will be 90 feet tall, and it will be made out of hardened concrete and rebar steel You can hear him talk about it at 0:50 in this video.
It honestly shocks me that he's talking about a literal border wall rather than a metaphorical one, and it shocks me even more that a lot of people are supporting him on that. I thought that most illegal immigrants in America are there because they overstayed their visas? And even with the whole drug smuggling business, how hard could it be for someone to catapult something over a wall, for someone on the other side to pick it up?
Idk pretty easy I think because people smuggle shit into prisons that way and it's much easier to police a prison complex than it is to police a massive land border wall.

Drug smugglers live in the 21st century too, they can just stick a kilo on a drone and fly it a couple miles across the border
Catapult? Drug smugglers live in the 21st century too, they can just stick a kilo on a drone and fly it a couple miles across the border
shooting down a mexican drone in texas would be like opening a loot box
shooting down a mexican drone in texas would be like opening a loot box
Use the money you get from selling drugs to cover the wall. In a way mexicans would be paying for it.
If he goes through with his promises he's a dangerous madman, if he breaks them he's just a lying politician and his voters should feel stupid for falling for his anti-establishment message. I am truly convinced that Trump will be one of the greatest American Presidents. I'm also convinced he will leave office with historically low approval ratings. The media machine won't give him credit for anything, and his haters will be too stubborn to admit the the crazy populist ideas of his they ridiculed did indeed Make America Great Again.

Trump is already the greatest of Presidents....the greatest joke of a President who beat even William Howard Taft on that score. The haters are too stubborn to admit those ideas.......because we know those are BAD ideas. If somebody hands you a bottle of piss and tells you to drink it because it's good for you, would you be stupid enough to do it? same principle applies here too. And America became a great laughingstock again so that's everything covered.

A direct example of what Trump's supporters are gonna be spouting for the next 4 years.
Hey could you explain how climate change denial will Make America Great Again please?
Trump is a patriot; and after years of national embarrassment and disgrace from "Florida man", he has come up with a final solution. At great cost all of Florida will be underwater, no longer will we get stories about Florida man raping alligators or eating faces.

There's no logical inconstancy here, if you think the wall is stupid, he's either an idiot or a liar for promising it. Given that: a. The majority of illegals are overstaying visas and wouldn't be affected by a wall at all b. The wall can be climbed, dug under, drugs can be sent above it c. The wall will cost tens of billions initially and billions every year for maintenance, which we could be spending on ACTUALLY helping struggling people with low income d. Illegal migrants don't represent anywhere near the threat that warrants this kind of expenditure Then yes, it's safe to say the wall is a fucking stupid idea.
I'm convinced you're trapped in a cult of personality.
I see your climate change, and raise you Hillary's nuclear war.
Honest question, why do you believe in populism so much?
Because it works, it helps us achieve true progress, all of the great revolutions were based in some form on populist rage at elite parasites. Without risky actions motivated by bouts of "I'm just fed up with this!" rage, no matter how dangerous, irrational or scary it seems at first, the elite just become more entrenched, more out of touch and more dangerous.
I see your climate change, and raise you Hillary's nuclear war.
The election is over homeslice.

Keep blaming her whenever you cant find a logical counter to your emperor Trump if it makes you feel better at nights. Then tell me what is Donald Trump if not an elite parasite on the body of America, a loathsome one at that?
I see your climate change, and raise you Hillary's nuclear war.
You see reality and you see an impossibility and you chose the latter. You're just out of the ordinary.
I see your climate change, and raise you Hillary's nuclear war.
Donald Trump literally asked why the US can't use nukes and wants to expand the United States' nuclear arsenal all while consistently antagonising the Chinese, and you seriously believe Hillary Clinton would be the one to start a nuclear war?
Unless Trump and politicians like him manage to keep this wall being built and maintained for years to come, it will take too long to be completed. This thing could take years, even decades to be built. Who's to say it won't just be torn down or left incomplete after he leaves office? I'm not trying to sound passive with about this, but, Trump likely won't be able to keep the wall going, whether he's president for 4 years or 8. Unless of course, he appoints himself Eternal Emperor or something equally ridiculous.
no police union should support this, it makes every traffic stop a potential shootout when illegal immigrants now have to fear being detained for even the smallest infraction.
I see your climate change, and raise you Hillary's nuclear war.
You've convinced me, I won't vote for Hillar- wait a sec
