PETA trying to win support with sob stories. Lets not forget about how wasteful and corrupted this organization is.
Since I'm a snake owner and feed my snakes live mice, I've always been a little odd about this issue. The more 'cute' an animal seems to people, the more rights we give them apparently. I find it to have retarded double-standards, in all honesty.
It's because cuteness is a trait we assign to infants. Which we are genetically hardwired to care for in most cases. Therefore cute animals are more easily related to and given more protection.
Is that section of PETAs site really called the PETAfiles?

PETA like making jokes. These jokes are not normally well received.
Orcas are assholes.
Still, I don't think we should hold them captive, mainly once they show clear wish to leave.
They are way too fucking scarily intelligent for that. I am not buying the stupid "animals are also people" nonsense which is supposed to make cows too important to end up on my platter, but Orcas and other big sea mammals like Dolphins and other whales are far past my "don't let intelligent beings suffer" comfort zone.
check your sapience privledge bro
Meanwhile PETA slaughters rescued dogs and cats by the dozen.

Only because they don't turn away animals and run out of room
No-kill shelters can only take in as many as they adopt out, which isn't very many as people generally want cute pets so they support pet stores and puppy mills that make the overpopulation problem worse
If you want PETA to stop euthanizing animals, either adopt some or petition your government to give your country's SPCA-equivalent more money
Personally I'd argue that euthanization is more humane for these animals than spending their entire lives in a small cage or starving on the streets but even the people who agree tend to not admit it because it removes their most convenient way of hating PETA
Don't... animals frequently in-breed on their own in the wild?
Orca Inbreeding in Puget Sound, apparently it's still not good. But i'm just saying..

My issue is, if I opened a Clinic and Euthanized as many as they do (which, by the way... in the United States, PETA's 'shelters' are legally considered Euthanasia clinics due to the sheer numbers of Animals they put down.) I'm pretty sure i'd have some PETWAT filing lawsuit against me for destroying animals.
I'm not against Euthanasia, I just don't like how PETA approaches it (and many other subjects). Many of their standpoints feel very... hypocritical.
there's better reasons to dislike peta anyway, like their constantly sexualized ad campaigns

It's not hypocritical. You can find it personally abhorrent and that's fine, but PETA's euthanization policies are strictly in line with their anti-animal captivity (including pet ownership) views
If PETA had a genie lamp it's not like they'd keep killing animals, they'd just have the ownership of animals banned outright and not have to run shelters at all anymore
