North Carolina Church: "No more weddings until gay marriage is legalized"

There's also a reasonable argument to suggest that, in Matthew 19:10-12, Jesus holds a gay centurion to spiritual esteem. The original Greek term used was pais in reference to the centurion's servant. Pais has three connotations: servant, son, or a master's male lover. If we combine this reference with the story's account in Luke, the original Greek term means the healed servant might have been a lover of the centurion.

hey man, i don't mind them ignoring all the bullshit and just embracing all the good stuff. when you do that, it's pretty good. i mean, alot of the nice stuff jesus said was about loving everybody no matter what, not judging anyone, helping out the poor and the needy. sure i think you shouldn't need to be religious to act like this but, if it helps some people be better people then i don't see the problem

A eunuch could mean multiple roles, the main controversy about eunuchs was the fact that they were castrated, which according to Hebrew law made them unclean, which Jesus is rejecting in those verses.

I actually put the wrong verse down, but I was about to write about Matthew 19: 10 - 12 anyway.
The actual verse for the one above is Matthew 8:5-13.
As for Matthew 19: 10 - 12, eunuchs was also a term which, during that time period, could also be referred to homosexuals. There's a variety of interpretations for that verse.
That's pretty fucking righteous of them.

Reading it, it just sounds like a normal servant to me.
That's what happens when they compile it from mistranslations of several dead languages. At least the Qu'ran was written all in Arabic which is mostly intact, the Bible has ancient Hebrew, ancient Greek and Latin all mixed in with millennia of Chinese whispers, it's bound to be wrong on some accounts.
i've seen analysis referring to eunuchs, in that context, as those who didn't marry. that seems more likely, given the rest of the passage is about marriage and love.

Unless you're reading it in Greek, that's not taking into account the original terms used and the meaning in the time of the Bible's writing :v:.

Yes, this is one of the biggest issues about Scripture. This is one of the reasons why we have so many variations of the same verses, with a group of interpretations of each tied in.

what matters most is not being dicks to other people

It's called The New Commandment for a reason.
Glad to hear that this is happening. Hopefully it spurs others to follow in their footsteps.

The most important closing sentence:

Just wow.

Local Fox stations are very different compared to the nationwide 'Fox News'. Generally when people refer to Fox, they're talking about the nationwide one.
