I'm glad I still use my old flip-based communicator, it's not quite adamantium but it's pretty sturdy, doesn't consume nearly as much battery, and while it doesn't have any real fancy features like wi-fi or a touchscreen, it works well as what it is meant to be. A handheld telephone. Which is all I need it to be, not a PDA. If I wanted/needed a PDA, I'd look around and find a modern-day PDA. Like maybe one of those Galaxy Note phablets.
i think you mean 'don't use a phone'
Landlines and pay phones are still an option, so I wouldn't totally rule out not using phones.
"What, you people want bigger batteries? Didn't you see the damage our current batteries can do?!" :v:
thats ok, I'll just use a giant steel case with it to contain the fire. [editline]10th March 2015[/editline]
Here's my solution to the iPhone battery problem: don't use an iPhone.
if you want extremely good battery life and are purely worried about that you may as well get a nokia numberpad phone iphones are no different than android phones with battery problems, they just deal with the problem differently. The main problem isn't the phones honestly, it's the batteries simply not being powerful enough.
Why would you want a bigger battery exploding in your pocket?
Snapchat is a pretty terrible and heavy app no matter what the platform. There was a recent controversy on android where tons of people were reporting it was using gigabytes of mobile data in the background and draining their batteries because of the new discover stuff they added.
Discover was the worst thing to add, I wish you could disable it or filter channels Vice and Nat Geo are the only ones worth going to
Here's an idea, apple... Maybe follow up on your claims of being innovative and make a thinner, more powerful battery and use that instead. That way you can have both sides, the battery side and the lighter/thinner side.

One of the reasons I don't have a smartphone is because my older phone trumps all I've seen in terms of battery life. It can go 7 days or more on one charge. [editline]11th March 2015[/editline] so basically fuck jony ive, whoever that is.
I think he forgets that funnily enough a lot of iPhone users I know carry around one of those mobile charging devices. Screen is always highest with 30ish % of total use.
My iPhone 5s battery seems to go down the shitter as soon as I open up snapchat, but if I don't it last a very long time I still think the iPhone would benefit off a bigger battery
snapchat turns the camera on and it stays on untill you force close the app ( or a timer in the android os shuts the camera off) i wouldn't be surprised if it was the same on ios
I don't see anything wrong with what he's saying. There are a lot of people who don't want their phone to be any heavier than it currently is, and for those people who don't mind extra bulk/weight, there's battery banks and extended battery cases. And hell, to be honest I think battery banks are a better solution than making phones bigger/heftier from a larger battery anyway. Instead of having some phone that's tiring/uncomfortable to hold, I've got a phone that fits my hand nicely and a 17,000mAh external battery I can use to top it (And any other devices I might be using, like my Vita or tablet) up with when I need to.

Being slim, lightweight, and streamlined has always been Apple's product ethos compared to the functionality-first design of companies like Samsung. It would make no sense for an iPhone to be redesigned with a bigger battery. More efficient battery, yes, but not physically larger.
The problem I have is that the iPhone 5 has a terrible battery, it can just decide to die if I'm anywhere under 30% battery and it often makes large jumps from like 60% to 50% in a few seconds. A few people I know have the same problem with their fives.

I honestly never had a problem with battery life with the Iphone once I accepted the fact that I have to plug it in every night after brushing my teeth as routine Nevertheless I wouldn't mind a longer battery life at all. I'd rather have it be twice as thick and have twice the life.
Let's return to brick phones with 1 week battery time even with heavy usage.
I just want to shitpost without it saying "20% Battery Remaining"

Motorola has the right idea with the Droid Turbo/Moto Max. It has a 3900mAh battery and is still more than thin enough at 10.6 and 11.2mm.
What phone do you have? My phone (LG-P769) reports the screen is only taking 4% of my battery. Wifi is what usually eats up my battery.
XperiaM. Screen 44%, chrome 40, WiFi 4, then the rest is signal, system and stuff. If I don't browse the net with it, it can last days
Phones nowadays are pure stupid. They put giant screens on them so they can't fit in a pocket and then make them as thin as possible. I have seriously seen people walking around wearing neck pouches for their huge phones. That's super convenient right?. I'm using a trend plus and it's about the maximum size for a phone imo, and I'd gladly have it be twice as thick for more battery life.
