It's not really based on desire to change one's gender identity, but a deep innate feeling of what you are.
Well... they still want to change, to become what they feel like on the inside, don't they?
That's kind of what I meant - the reason why they want to do that shouldn't matter.
Though I'll never be able to truly understand this. That's why I worded this wrong...

You know it's scientifically proven your brain and rest of your body can be mismatched - ie, fully female brain in fully male body?
Now realize that this is about the person's good. Either she will live rest of her life in deep disparity of who she is physically and who she is mentally, or , adjustments will be done to her body (which can be highly successful if done before puberty, unlike if done later), and she can be content with herself for rest of her life.

What differences are there between male and female brain?

This is actually somewhat more specific and informative
In 2001, researchers from Harvard found that certain parts of the brain were differently sized in males and females, which may help balance out the overall size difference. The study found that parts of the frontal lobe, responsible for problem-solving and decision-making, and the limbic cortex, responsible for regulating emotions, were larger in women [source: Hoag]. In men, the parietal cortex, which is involved in space perception, and the amygdala, which regulates sexual and social behavior, were larger [source: Hoag].
Men also have approximately 6.5 times more gray matter in the brain than women, but before the heads of all the men out there start to swell, listen to this: Women have about 10 times more white matter than men do [source: Carey]. This difference may account for differences in how men and women think. Men seem to think with their gray matter, which is full of active neurons. Women think with the white matter, which consists more of connections between the neurons. In this way, a woman's brain is a bit more complicated in setup, but those connections may allow a woman's brain to work faster than a man's [source: Hotz].
Read the second link. The brains are DIFFERENT. Not slightly. They work in different way.
I misread "industrialised" and though:Oh they still do that even if i forbid them!
But whatever,good for her.

Was it that one time you said that you felt persecuted by atheists because you're christian
Read the second link. The brains are DIFFERENT. Not slightly. They work in different way.
That sounds like it's more a matter of how people are socialized. E.g. men play more sports and correspondingly have a larger parietal cortex because of that 'training'.
Were the tests conducted on babies?
Was it that one time you said that you felt persecuted by atheists because you're christian
There's people everywhere that have been persecuted for their beliefs. Some places less than others, some places more.
I mean, I don't know what else you expect him to say. If he's been persecuted he's been persecuted, no point saying anything else.
Was it that one time you said that you felt persecuted by atheists because you're christian
It's not like christians can't be "persecuted".

They can, but it doesn't change the fact they're inherently privileged in western society

I know exactly what people think I don't understand, but that is because what people didn't understand is that I was talking factually and scientifically. You can call yourself a woman and ask others to call you a woman if you want, that's not what I'm arguing. I'm saying that you shouldn't get all pissy that someone uses "he" when from a purely factual standpoint it is correct.
Everyone understood it as "He can't be/want to be/act like/regard himself as a woman because I said so".

acds was purposely making statements that are inflammatory and can easily be proven wrong for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of people
Isn't that called trolling?
So why are you calling out people who reply to him before you call him out

Also again, what people don't seem to understand is that from a purely biological stance his chromosomes and DNA is still that of a man, so using "He" is not incorrect. Also funny you say I am trolling after 10 pages of flaming because someone used "He" instead of "She".
Didn't see me flaming people because they used "She" did you? Note how what I said was in answer to someone telling another user that he shouldn't use "He".

We're not writing about fucking penguins for national geographic, we're talking about human beings
If you refuse to use the pronoun of the gender the person identifies as, you are purposely dehumanizing them by denying their identity and you're basically a massive asshole
So pick one: your petty pragmatism, or being a compassionate human being
apparently you're incapable of handling both

I'll take my pragmatism, I tend to keep emotions and compassion out of arguments. If I met the child in person, I'd use "She". Actually I'll just use "The child", though I'm sure someone will find something to rage about that too.
Also never saw even 1/10th of a shitstorm as this one when someone says "Nigger", or called Michael Jackson "black".

Well for one, Michael Jackson still identified as a black man as far as I know. It isn't his fault he had a skin disorder.
Oh and when the argument is solely based around compassion, leaving it out of the argument is pretty much only for sociopaths
Uh yeah, I think I came across a bit dickish yesterday arguing here. I was in a bad mood and on top of that typing on my phone is quite frustrating haha.
Let me just make it clear, I'm completely fine with transgenders, transexuals, homosexuals, ect. but when someone brought up that calling transgenders by their sex instead of their gender is deeply offensive, I couldn't understand why it would be.
Say I was out and a met a transgender who has a male body but psychologically they see themselves as female (which isn't obvious to anyone else, you probably wouldn't find that out until they actually tell you), and after talking to them a bit they overhear me saying to a friend "He's a nice guy" Now from yesterday I'm given the impression that they would be offended by this and think of me as a bigot. That's what I don't understand, and everyone was implying that I'm a bad person for that and giving me a barrage of boxes and disagrees, when i'm probably more open-minded with this stuff than the average guy. Isn't it just personal choice whether you decide to call them by their sex or gender unless they personally ask you to do otherwise, seeing as there's no politically correct standard regarding this? (and we all know how overkill the whole PC thing is) Technically transgenders are both male and female, just in different ways.
I mean, not everyone is an expert in this area. I didn't even know the difference between gender and sex or the details of what gender dysphoria actually is until I read this thread. When I said about being 'self important' what I meant was a lot of people in this thread were giving me the impression that transgenders expect everyone to completely understand them and know everything about their condition and get mad if they don't. I know you want people to respect and accept you, but just respect and accept that the majority of people are misinformed about your condition. Hope this has cleared it up.
Was it that one time you said that you felt persecuted by atheists because you're christian
Yep, don't see whats so hard to believe about that if I'm honest.
I mean of course it isn't quite what trans gendered people feel but it's still a persecution of a group.

I think it would be really hard to find someone who would get upset at you for using the wrong pronoun once after meeting them for the first time. Outside of the internet it wouldn't matter as much as long as you corrected yourself after knowing better.
But this is the internet, you can take time to read the thread and check outside sources before posting. That's something you can't do while having a real-time conversation. "I made a mistake" doesn't fly on the internet after other people have been corrected for the same thing.
